There is a lot here that seems to have fallen through the cracks. The questions are many beginning with why and who was responsible for allowing such fraud?
I have a feeling thus occurred for five years because the immigration courts have been so overwhelmed for a long time.
The law needs to be more finely tuned, BUT, it will also mean building more bureaucracy in order to carry out enforcement. The legal penalties are assumed to act as a deterrent, but, it didn’t work in this case.
No one can say Mr. Roberts was not a dangerous man. He obviously was arming himself because of his lawlessness. There is every reason to say Mr. Roberts would have killed officers. He carried a loaded weapon under the seat of his vehicle.
There is a lot wrong here.
