Donald Sterling's ban from basketball is about racism.
There is a big difference.
While Steinbrenner's return after three years seems more a violation because it effected the elections of a nation, the racism is about depersonalizing human beings into categories.
I don't think Steinbrenner should have been let back into baseball, but, it was a different day. Mr. Sterling won't be back. He was admonished by an entire industry and a USA President.
