Currently, 36 dead in the southeast.

I am impressed (click here) by the heroic dedication of The Weather Channel. They are cancelling previous scheduled programs to bring information to everyone. Not only that, but, they are getting feedback from viewers. The viewers are sending back pictures of the tornadoes as they touch down. I am very impressed.

The Weather Channel is asking people to take shelter and be careful about viewing these storms. But, obviously there are people that are outside the shadow of the predicted tornadoes and have taken digital pictures of them on the horizon.

The forecasters have stated the storms are moving slower than yesterday, but, that does not mean there is less threat. Sustained presence of these tornadoes does not decrease danger. Additionally, it all adds up. The offshore vortex is stalling the system over the USA, so the advancing front will be moving slower as it makes that turn back inland.

In all, at least 30 deaths have been reported since Sunday in a swath from Oklahoma and Iowa to Alabama and including Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee....
