Antarctica Ice Chime achieving an inert state. No vibration. No sound. Earth's atmosphere provides a venue of sound transmision through 'fluid' reaction through 'wave length.' When the metal pipes are moved due to air disturbance the air surrounding those pipes move due to the wavelength of that movement, hence, transmitting sound. When planets don't have atmosphere there is no sound. It requires atmosphere to provide the 'venue' for sound.
