I have only one question about this crash. Where is the explosion? What happened to the fuel tank? Empty?

The dialogue is finally turning to REVENUES. It is impossible to get anything more out of the current tax structure.

The dialogue needs to remain on Revneues and not taxes.  Tax cuts don't work when they have already been cut to the bone.

It was laughable to watch the right wing media following the President's announcement of the Debt and Deficit proposal.  On FOX, Mr. Constable, no lie that is his name, from the Wall Street Journal stated the speech was a political speech.  He offered no real insight as to why it constituted a political speech and I didn't notice any audience waving "Obama 2012," but, what does on expect out of Murdoch in 30 seconds.

Yep, "Simple" Simon Constable.

Obama: "This is not class warfare -- It's math" (click title to entry - thank you

By Stephanie Condon

Taking a defiant tone against Republicans unwilling to raise taxes in order to close the deficit, President Obama today unveiled a $3 trillion long-term deficit reduction plan that relies heavily on raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans....

Evdently, Lambaugh didn't get the message from the President because he stated the speech was a cherry bomb going off in the populous of the USA.

Lambaugh was especially interested in the words surrounding "...gutting education and medical research...." being the mother of all cherry bombs.  Evidently, Mr. Lambaugh believes we only have to gut one of them and I guarantee you it isn't medical research.

But, enough of the nonsense.

The FACT is that the EFFECTIVE corporate tax rate is 15% in the USA as opposed to the EFFECTIVE tax rate globally which is 16%.

One thing is true and that is the USA needs to modernize and repair its infrastructure.  The message was clearly delivered by Senator Hutchinson in regard to the infrastructure bank.  The USA infrastructure needs to also support businesses that need to update and build facilities that reflect 'State of the Art" environmental standards including Greenhouse Gases.  The USA is behind in modernizing its infrastructure, hence, falling behind in competitiveness globally to attract business to this country.

The President's proposals over the past few weeks have been to address the future of the USA while rebuilding the current 'Jobs Base.'  That is 'the usual' for a President.  Rarely is a President faced with such incredible tasks instead, there is usually 'the business' of the nation that needs to be addressed, not complete rebuilding of one.

"The American Jobs Act" will serve to continue the tax relief for many while supplying unemployment 'survival' benefits to Americans who are still unable to find work.  No one can deny there is still a challenge to bring jobs to the market place for Americans.  To deny the country has an obligation to the workers still facing unemployment after bailing out Wall Street Banks with billions of $US is to victimize those Americans and place them in poverty. The poverty rate is at an unbelievable rate.  It cannot continue to grow.  While these proposed funds will go directly into infusing the buying power of the consumer, it also supplies real incentives for small business to realize they have an opportunity now to begin and grow jobs.  It is a symphony of incentives that are perfectly matched to deliver the consumers to the small businesses in the USA.

I believe the President has it exactly correct.  The tax code needs to be addressed., but, for short term economic drivers that won't happen soon.  The new tax code has to be prepared and knowing Republicans they will monkey with it to make it appear as though it is the correct method of tax law for now and the future.  All too often Republican legislation is nothing more then deceptions that American citizens naively believes in only to find out how manipulated their trust was placed.  So, until we have a congress competent enough to do their jobs well there is no sense to do anything except add to the tax code to make it serve the people of the USA.

I'll be back tomorrow to comment on many subjects including regulation, the military and Solyndra.

What is occuring in the USA House, in their own orbit, is nothing more than hubris on an expensive salary.  This 'ACT' is why the right wing media is focusing on regulation.

This is a no brainer.  The USA needs protections to their environment through regulation.  They need protections  in their food supply and their medical supply and they are not getting it while their Senators are grappling with huge global systems to stem dangers to the domestic demands inside the country.

It is getting hideous and stupid.  With all this infrastructure spending there should be plenty of monies to subsidize small companies to faciliate compliance.  If they are helped to meet regulations they will have a secure market share and safe clientele.  What could be better.

Interesting.  The House GOP is willing to spend millions upon millions to defeat regulations without a single thought about spending millions upon millions to facilitate and enforce them.  In a society concerned about the cost of health care, regulations are the first measure that should be taken to reduce the need and reduce the cost.  I mean really, do I have to say all this?  And the media worries about 'spiritual nutcases' in need of exorcists.

The TRAIN Act would create a multi-million dollar committee to conduct cost-benefit analyses of 10 EPA regs aimed at curbing GHGs and other pollutants (click title to entry - thank you)

WASHINGTON—Those perceiving the Clean Air Act as a lumbering locomotive intent on flattening U.S. jobs, economic competitiveness and energy reliability hope the "TRAIN Act" makes more than a whistle-stop tour through Capitol Hill.

Conservationists, however, have an opposite take.

For them, the wheels can't come off soon enough from House legislation that is saddled with a cumbersome name — Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation Act of 2011 — to create a cutesy but memorable acronym that lends itself to ridicule....

A legitimate appoach will be marred by the violence of Hamas.

Determined: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Photo: Reuters

Unfortunately, Palestine's claim of Statehood won't be received  with a warm welcome as it should.  The security problems in Gaza and the waters surrounding Gaza are still a huge problem for Israel.  That violence can't be ignored.

The real tragedy will begin when Hamas begins attacks on Israel following the defeat of their bid for Statehood.  But, Hamas would have begun attacks on Israel even if the measure at the UN succeeded.  Either way Hamas will see the issue as permission for warring due to lack of sovereignty or just plain war for the entire of Israel.

Gaza is a problem.  It is a problem for Palestine, Israel and the Palestinians that live there.  I do not see any real path to peace so long as Hamas is tolerated and the violence continues.  The Hamas violence is another problem no different than violence in Northern Ireland was for generation after generation.  The higher the price the more likely the next generation will continue the violence.  The Arab League really needs to do something to change the paradyme with Hamas, without peace there won't be a sovereign Palestine.  Hamas has to stop their violent culture and adopt the reality that peace can exist with clear borders.

I am somewhat releaved the "Tea-vangelicals" missed the 'cue' of the Gardasil issue.

I would have expected more of them to relate to the spiritual complaint of the mother with the retarded child and not the medical complaint.

This is just a guess, but, it seem to me the woman was saying that after her daughter received a Gardasil injection she developed mental retardation because of the 'myth' of this being permission to allow sexual activity at an early age.

Sort of a God vs. Devil topic.  In other words after Michele Bachmann stated she felt offended for the little girls and their parents, the woman in the audience would have bonded with the 'spiritual' invasion of the devil to her daughter and 'magic' she was retarded.  I thought that was something the Tea-vangelicals missed.  It was a welcome disconnect and proves they aren't as 'god centered' with every thought.

To evangelicals Gardasil is a dangerous drug for many reasons and not simply the physical side effects which brings me back to the Perry governorship to help out a crony.

The crisis in the Loan Guarantee area of the Recover Act is due to depressed markets.

The USA House is in its own orbit and Speaker Boner is captain of the ship.

The Commission (click here) concluded that this crisis was avoidable—the result of human actions, inactions, and misjudgments. Warnings were ignored. “The greatest tragedy would be to accept the refrain that no one could have seen this coming and thus nothing could have been done. If we accept this notion, it will happen again.”

There is a study about "The Financial Crisis" by according to the USA media no one would know it.

The business sector is NOT suffering from overtaxation.  As a matter of fact, and I would think the GOP would have learned same from Bush's Tax Cuts, taxes are not the driving force to creating jobs.  Jobs are created becuase a product in the market place sells and hopefully sells to its market share and makes a profit.  Taxes has nothing to do with creating jobs.  As a matter of fact, taxes are at an all time low since the 1930s.

I am not going to discuss Speaker Boner's 'talk' yesterday at The Economic Club because it was completely rhetorical while stating there are places that we can agree.

Regulations is not the problem either.  It is better to apply regulations now while businesses are re-establishing their production plans and seeking markets.  It will streamline their process in decision making to have regulations in place rather than postponing regulations to a later date.  The regualtions the USA applies is based in protecting the consumer and the air they breath and the water they drink.  Why would any company want to be in violation of those provisions?  Harm to human health, citizen property and lifestyle only leads to lawsuits.  It's completely silly to believe any regulation should be shelved.
\
...Boehner (click title to entry - thank you) urged the new bipartisan committee to focus on cuts in federal spending and entitlement programs as a way of slowing the growth of government. He said tax increases should be "off the table" as the committee works toward a late-November deadline....

Overhauling the tax code is a great idea.  It is actually raising taxes although the tax rates would be lower.  It raises taxes because loopholes would be eliminated.  None of these changes are going to go over well, however, there is a concern.  The concern is how long with the Republicans leave the NEW tax code alone?  A month, two maybe?  Then what will have occurred is an increase in taxes certainly to be removed by Republicans panicking over crony preferences.  The USA will then be left if a tax code that will most certainly bankrupt the county with lower rates and returned loopholes.  It will be a peril the USA does not want to seek as an alternative to underhanded backing of a GOP "lower tax rates."  The GOP has to know revising the tax code will raise tax rates and not lower them, hence a violation of their PLEDGE.  So what then is to follow?  A return of the loophole, that is what will follow.

The changes to the tax code which eliminates loopholes and lower rates to increase revenues has to be guaranteed for at least twenty years and the national debt has been reduced or there is no sense to taking the chance.

HR 2587 is a clear indication of the incompetency of the US House of Representatives.

The bill. which passed the House with a party line vote, truncates the
"Due Process" provision of our USA Constitution.  The bill itself could have unintentional consequences.  Both Nancy Pelosi and Steni Hoyer were on the floor of the House yesterday warning this was a bad bill.  It definately is.  Boeing is a long standing and beloved USA compnay. It also enjoys the expertise of American labor.  That cannot be ignored.

Gov. Chris Gregoire (click title to entry - thank you) pumped up the state's aerospace industry Thursday, promising to tailor worker training to its needs and asking for its help to maintain Washington as the "center of aerospace" in the world.

There are plenty of aerospace companies, states and even whole countries that would like to strip Washington of that title, she said.

One prize for which the state is competing is the location of a new plant to build the 737 MAX, a variant of the world's best-selling airplane that's built in Renton. Boeing is expected to make that decision in about six months.

The Renton plant is in the running, but as Gregoire said, "We take nothing for granted." Boeing got the contract to build new refueling planes for the U.S. Air Force in part because of a strong community partnership that lobbied for a Washington-built plane, she said....

The Aerospace industry belongs in the USA, whether that means a South Carolina plant for Boeing is a question for administrative courts, the NLRB, to decide.  The idea that Boeing could literally rob well trained, seasonsed and senior employees of their jobs for a better bottom line is not only bad business, but, it is bad for the country in a global market place.

The USA relies on a competent aerospace industry for its national defense and space related programs.  To believe that can be substituted for profit driven reasons is hideous.  I am quite confident part of the mission of the NLRB is to maintain the competency of the employee in such a sensitive industry as well as their rights under collective bargaining laws.  As a rule, unions add to the competency of their employees through peer support on the job and educational opportunities off the job.

That said, the real problem with HR 2587 is that it truncates Due Process.  The law itself is unconstitutional and even if the President were to sign such a hideous legislative attempt by four freshman House members the first stop for it would be the courts.  It would be defeated in the lower courts and upheld throughout.  Due Process is what makes this democracy possible and to realize this bill seeks to remove that process and the fullest extent of that process is ridiculous.

The bill was composed by self-righteous freshman which is the plague of the USA House, but, it was co-signed by more senior members of the House that share the desire to disarm the USA Constitution.

Governor Perry is proving to be a formidable candidate. He is 'just' geeky enough, too.

Chris Lee

New York Ninth is following the trend to replace a sex scandaled Congressman with the opposite party candidate .  I would look at the voter turnout, the monies spent and I wouldn't get too excited about this election as an indication of anything even though the Democrats want the President to consider this a serious  blow.  The way I see it; the district is soon to be ended with census data, there is already a Republican majority in the House so why spend the money and make the investment?

My understanding is that the Turner ran again Anthony Weiner unsuccessfully many times.  "The man should know what he missed all those years at least once in his life and now is as good as time as any."

Perry's Merck Donations Raise Questions About Vaccine Mandate (click title to entry - thank you)

...Perry, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, received at least $23,500 in campaign contributions from drug-maker Merck & Co., including $5,000 in 2006, the year before he ordered girls throughout the state to take a new Merck vaccine. The drug-maker also has donated about $500,000 to the Republican Governors Association, a group which Perry headed twice and has been among his most generous campaign donors....

Bachman invokes the Palin charge of guilty Republicans, crony capitalism.

Interesting.  Bachman has to know if Palin was removed from the GOP polls her nuimbers would fall in after Romney, but, not very far below.

Sarah,  In all honesty, I have sized her up as an independant candidate from the time she walked onto her campaign bus.  She was hoping to finance her own campaign but her books sales and movie revenue has fallen flat, so I am sure at this point she is looking at GOP funding all over again as a potential funding source.  She considers herself more important than most of her opponents and she might be right.  If it weren't for Sarah her opponents would not have in 'intact' constituency to draw on.

But, as far as Rick Perry; there is one thing that is true about the Republicans and that is they can have their opinions modified by their constituency, so given whom might be voting for him there could be enough naive minds in the independent voter electorate and a percentage of Democratic voters to actually believe he is qualified enough, geeky enough and 'plastic' enough to actually 'give him a try.'  Perry appears to be master of the audience.  He reads them and panders to them to insure his imaqge is as they see it.  Can he continue that on a national stage?  Good question.

Regardless of whom the GOP nomination is, they are only running for President.  The President in 2012 may be in the Executive Branch alone, regardless of party, if there is a majority of Republicans in the House and Senate.  Romney cannot sell himself as someone that can control the outcomes of his Presidency no more than Obama has been able to control his.  Romney will not fight the House and Senate as much as President Obama has if he has to face Republican majorities in either or both houses.  A veto after 2012 will mean nothing and the country will be on cruise control with legislative mania if there are Republican majorities in both houses.  The Executive Branch will fall mute if Republican majorities exist in the House and Senate and Ethics will be minimized to insure they get what they want.

"Gardasil."  The idea that Merck and Perry are playing footsie is actually acceptable in Texas politics.  Not only acceptable to forward the religous right agenda, but, encouraged.  The 'idea' this was the Governor's fault is a good play for the Texas Legislature.  It placed the heat where it could be best mitigated.  I would be curious whom in the Texas legislature also benefited from Merck monies.

It is wrong to demonize the benefits of Gardasil.  Women, the second class citizens in the USA along with minorities have looked for this product since the 1950s whether they realize it or not AND marriage is not a guarantee against the virus that causes cervical cancer.

Now that we know Perry is a sympathetic figure that can absorb criticism I'd like to see him promote stocking the drug in High School and College Health Offices.  Now that is a good idea whether or not Perry decides he can take the risk, so why would Merck continue to back Perry with crony money?  Maybe so he is willing to take the heat and remove the stigma.

I haven't check out Hurricane Maria yet.

Until later.

A quick note about the next Republican Debate.

Romney needs to go home.  He isn't going to be able to contest against the new face of the RNC which passed a draconian bill to destroy Medicare.  He would have to stand in opposition to every legislation passed in the House since January and that is a lot of Republicans that are sold on extremism.  The race is between Palin and Perry should she decide to get serious.  How can anyone trust Romney when he party has become so extreme?  I just don't see it.

It was quite a commemoration. (click title to entry - thank you)

The memorials were beautiful and quite a tribute to the families after ten years.

I tried to take in all of it.  From President Obama's visit to Arlington on Saturday and the unveiling of the Flight 93 Wall to the three visits by President Obama yesterday to New York, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania.

I especially liked the way Bush and Obama tried to bring the nation together by participating in the New York commemoration with separate speeches.  Hey, Bush even quoted Lincoln, ya know?  For as noble the purpose of "W"s presence  the only thing I could think of while he was speaking was Iraq and the $3.1 Tillion of the National Debt these wars have occurred to date.

The 'cause' of the terrorist attack on the USA on September 11, 2001 has to be addressed.  I remember hearing an emergency worker asking over the radio to the central command in New York played on the History Channel what does the President have to say?  This was about 45 minutes after the North Tower was hit.  Centeral Command stated, "He promised to get the people who did this?"

Yep.  That's all he had to say.  Not much else.  Then he just continued to say it over and over and over again while looking for a smoking gun.  I was also thinking, the people who did this are now dead along with everyone else.

Then on the Neil Cavuto Hour there was this woman, I think she was a family member, stating that the events of 911 need to be archived with the rest of the history of the USA and how President Obama doesn't 'get it' when it comes to Muslims and Mosques in the USA.

Right.  So, we should have a national policy that monitors Mosques and their members so we can find the 'domestic terrorists' that the Middle East Arab naitions are mentoring in their extremist views of Jihad.  And.  We should archive the attacks of September 11th because after all there were only 2983 people that died.  Not 29,000 or 290,000 or 2,900,000.  A minor event on the timeline of history really.  So, in a way she was stating the entire mess in Lower Manhattan was overblown so "W" could invade Iraq, leave bin Laden on the loose to do it again and carry on with a War of Oil plan that has been shelved for so long.

I am sure she was annoyed at the cost of it all, too.\

I can agree with her, except, that when one waits for 2,900,000 people to die to NOTICE there is a global problem it might be really hard to recooperate from and you might even be among the dead.

It is prudent to condemn such actions on sovereign soil even though the major loss in Lower Manhattan was simply conrete, steel and some human fless along with some really messed up real estate.  Oh, by the way, the human life could be looked as mirely members of the Plutocracy, but, they were among the most valuable the American Brain Trust for financial markets.

So.

While the emergency worker responding to the tragedy unfolding in Lower Manhattan was looking for profound words of concerns along with sincere actions by the President like immediate deployment of military troops to Lower Manhattan to assist with the overwhelming reality they were experiencing, the fact is the Memorials are magnificent, appropriate and in the case of the Pennsylvania field sadly underfunded.

If Americans want to grapple with the oppression and poverty of the Middle East as to what spawned the attacks of September 11th and the Arab Spring and why the Yellow Sea is being coveted by Rep. Buck McKeon as the next get US Military effort one should come to understand what a completely bad idea it is to be the Global Police with a military budget that surpasses that of the combined military budgets of all the other nation's on Earth.

More about that later.

Have a better day and my deepest concerns and sympathies for all the 911 families.  The children are doing okay.  They are finished with Camp and now we need to worry about their education and transition into a society waiting for them.  I was sincerely impressed with the young man seeking to become a forensic scientist.  He misses his father terribly and yet he sees a future for himself.

End.

Friday, September 09, 2011

Once again I find myself grateful for President Obama and the USA military.

They make an interesting team.

Here we are on the cusp of the tenth remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001 on Lower Manhattan, a Pennsylvania field and Washington, DC.  Due to the successful mission into Pakistan to secure evidence about the activities of al Qaeda with the death of Osama bin Laden, we are finding reason to be cautious when we otherwise may not have been.

I can't thank President Obama enough and the perfectly executed mission into Pakistan to kill the world's most heinous terrorist and bring home information that is now alerting all the USA to protect lives.  What would we have done without this team of determined patriots to protect us all?

I realize New York's Finest has a remarkable record of successfully protecting their citizen's lives, but, there is an aspect to this that makes their measures all the more meaningful and appreciated.

...Police cruisers (click title to entry - thank you) took up positions on midtown blocks on Lexington, Park and Fifth avenues today as officers stopped trucks and other vehicles for inspection. Drivers were made to open the storage spaces of delivery trucks for police. In Brooklyn, U.S. marshals armed with machine guns guarded the federal courthouse and increased security was observed in front of the nearby city emergency management office.

"We have already had a full complement of people working shifts because of the Sept. 11 anniversary prior to this," said Jim Margolin, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New York office. "We are taking the logical investigative measures to assess this threat."...

With the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 nearly here a discovered group of heroes has been revealed.

A boat flotilla of 'the willing' emerged that saved lives and calmed the panic.

...At first, (click title to entry - thank you) the response by local vessels was completely spontaneous. Ferries, tug boats, fishing boats and other vessels pulled up, filled with tired, dust-covered survivors, and made for the nearest shore – often Brooklyn, just across the East River, New Jersey across the Hudson, or Staten Island on the other side of New York Harbor.
“They were just steaming out of the buildings and the first mode of transportation they saw was a ferryboat, that’s when they know, this is how I’m getting out of here,” said Rick Thornton, another New York Waterway captain. “They didn’t even care where the boat was going.”
The numbers involved threatened to overwhelm these efforts, however. “There wasn’t panic in New York, in the beginning – just volume,” said Capt. Slater, whose ferry made dozens of trips back and forth to New Jersey. “It wasn’t until the first building fell that there was panic.”...

Rarely do we get a chance to see the faces and stories behind those that work. An excellent multi-media expos'e by The New York Times. Thank you.

The Workers (click title to entry - thank you)

The World Trade Center site employs more than 3,200 workers. At present, it is the largest construction project in the United States. These portraits and audio narratives are a testament to their myriad skills and talents. From the ironworker who provides for her family to the contractor who lost his brother on Sept. 11, each of these workers has a unique story to tell, but they all share a common goal: rebuilding a piece of New York that was once lost.

There is massive flooding throughout the Northeast. The Susquehanna is the latest, but, not the only.

Thursday September 8, 2011
Montgomery, PA
Photographer states:  Our area in Pennsylvania has been experiencing record rainfall and wicked flash flooding along the Susquehanna River on both the North and the West Branch. Our town had flooding from the West Branch and Black Hole Creek. This photo was taken earlier in the day when Black Hole Creek had flooded this road in town. The water on the right hand of the photo is on the river side. I was taken by the lone sneaker just sitting upright on the sidewalk, as it came to a rest.

I believe two have died so far with this episode of flooding due to the arrival of Lee.

WILKES-BARRE -- Pennsylvania's lawmakers (click title to entry - thank you)  in Washington are urging President Barack Obama to grant a request by Gov. Tom Corbett to declare parts of the state where flooding is taking place a federal disaster area.
In a joint letter to Obama released by U.S. Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey, along with 12 U.S. Representatives Thursday evening, they said that communities up and down the Susquehanna River and along its tributaries are taking as much as action as possible ahead of feared flooding that has already forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents.
They're asking Obama to move quickly on Corbett's request which was made earlier Thursday.
Between 5 and 9 inches of rain fell in some parts of the state a little more than a week after the remnants of Hurricane Irene doused the East Coast. The soaking sent numerous waterways over their banks, including one northern Pennsylvania creek that undermined a bridge abutment, causing a partial collapse.
Luzerne County officials called for a mandatory evacuation of all communities along the Susquehanna River that were flooded in the historic Agnes deluge of 1972 -- an order affecting up to 75,000 residents. Officials in Harrisburg said they evacuated 6,000 to 10,000 residents from low-lying areas.
Rose Simko, 44, lives about 150 feet from the levee in Wilkes-Barre. On Thursday she was packing up her car and heading to stay with family on higher ground. Though worried her house will be inundated, Simko knew she had to leave.
"Everything is replaceable," she said, "but my life is not."...

Oneonta, New York
Photographer states::  Flash Flooding has hit the Oneonta, NY area in a way not seen since 2006 according to residents. This is the road to the high school that has been over run by water since early in the afternoon. An early dismissal occurred just in time. Classes on the SUNY Oneonta campus were canceled for today and that was before over an inch of rain fell overnight last night. And more in on the way

BINGHAMTON — More than 20,000 people have been evacuated from the Binghamton area because of rising floodwaters, some of them in dramatic roof-top rescues.
State and Broome County officials stressed Thursday that the flooding was of "historical proportions" and residents in the floodwaters' path needed to get out immediately.
Scenes of devastation were occurring up and down the Susquehanna River watershed, where remnants of Tropical Storm Lee poured water on top of communities already soaked by the remnants of Irene. Hundreds of roads were closed and a total of more than 100,000 people were ordered to evacuate, most of them in the Binghamton area of New York and the Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania....
The video is all telling.

Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania
Photographer states:  Fetters Mill 9-8-11 morning

Murdoch's Media Service is nothing but spin meisters. That was very evident after President Obama's Speech.

The "No Spin Zone" was nothing but spin as O'Reilly targeted Warren Buffet as an example of increasing "The Capital Gains" tax.  He went on to insult Mr. Buffet as an old man that compares apples to oranges.  O'Reilly explained to his viewership that Mr. Buffet made a fatal error in comparing his Capital Gains Tax to his secretary's Income Tax.  The beautiful part came in when Mr. O'Reilly called in his guests to speak and no one agreed with him.  The female commentator stated President Obama said nothing about Capital Gains and then the two male commentators stated that Capital Gains is a Tax and for the very wealthy it made no difference if they paid more as a percentage of their income.  O'Reilly then defended himself by saying everyone was picking on him that evening.

Sure, Bill, whatever you say.

LIAR!

Then Hannity took President Obama's statement about how the economic crisis was not a reason for destroying all the guarantees Americans have received from their government in the past and turned into a rant about "Stimulus" and "Cash for Clunkers."  Huh?  Either Hannity is the most stupid man in the world, which he might be, or he is grasping for straws.  What President Obama stated was that the REGULATORY of the federal government will not allow for degradation of the safety to citizens it has always enjoyed in the name of economic stimulus.

I would think not.  You know yesterday I was out in the bright sunlight walking across a paved parking lot and I took a deep breath, with my mouth closed, just to see what quality of air it was and the back of my throat started to burn.  That is in North Carolina.  That is not good.  The air quality is lousy especially in areas called strip malls where there are no trees for a mile or more and there are no winds and air is stagnant.

Following his rant, Hannity brought on the "Tea-Partied" Eric Cantor and they started their imagineering together.

The fact of the matter is the Republican Party where Former Governor Jon Huntsman fits in is gone.  The USA Brain Trust does not exist in their world anymore.  It is left up to the latest ideological rant based in lies and language to destroy the country.  Murdoch's media empire is based in 'Gutter Ideology' and he has made billions because of it.  He began it to remove the 'royalty' out of society to facilitate and empower the
commoner.  It has outlived its 'best interest' for democracies.

President Obama gave a brilliant speech yesterday.  He did it while accommodating the Republican Debate on Wednesday and the beginning of the football season.  He completely compromised the activities of one man in the most powerful seat of government in the world because he wanted to reach out to the people.  He didn't want conflict, he wanted cooperation and in the end it was he that cooperated the most.  The USA does not need to remove the luster from its royalty.  Quite the contrary, the USA needs to have faith in a man determined to speak to them.

The FCC needs to do its job here and bring the Murdoch media service in line with the rest of the network coverage which sought to put together a comprehensive picture of the provisions of the President's speech without attempting to hate the words he spoke.

Thursday, September 08, 2011

Why start the rhetoric if Cantor hasn't read the bill? He is setting the stage for more legislative failure and not success.

Tonight Eric Cantor started setting up the resistance to the "American Jobs Act."

He states, "Look, I haven't read the bill yet, but, it sounds like the Small Business Tax Cuts is something we can embrace.  But, we are the House Majority and  if Obama is going to just say "Pass the Bill" and threaten to take his message to every corner of the nation, that is not going to get it done."

What the Republicans say and what they do are two different things. A few days ago both the House Majority Speaker Boehner and Majority Whip Cantor made statements they were seeking to cooperate with a jobs initiative.  Now, it's not important at least for Cantor.

The Republicans will 'cherry pick' what they like and dam the rest of it.  That is not Bi-Partisan and it will be.  The House Republicans are not full partners in solving the nation's jobs issue.  They are interested in their crony politics and nothing more.

I strongly suggest the Republicans go back to their corner and rethink their commitment to making the Middle Class in the USA stronger while creating opportunity for Small Local Business than.  By supplying the Middle Class with tax breaks while providing greater opportunity to Small Local Businesses, the two act together to provide support for job growth that will then sustain itself.

Republicans cannot see the beauty in that?

Bill O'Reilly made a fool of himself tonight by trying to say President Obama was raising Capital Gains Tax while his guests stated they didn't hear that in his speech and if he did so what?  Then he uses Jay Carey as a target for anger without a reasonable conversation.  Jay should not bother in the future.  If the Obama Administration can't be treated with respect then they should not allow themselves to media icons for unilateral ridicule.

The Right Wing Media sincerely should be ashamed of themselves and start over again on what is best for the country.

Thank you, President Obama.

Thank you, so much.

Before the USA expects miracles from President Obama on job creation, look at what he inherited.

Economists React: ‘Scary’ Employment Report (click title to entry - thank you)

By WSJ Staff

Economists and others weigh in on the jump in the unemployment rate and the continuing job losses.
The economy is on such a steep downhill; it is scary. There is no indication that the job situation would stabilize anytime soon. This could turn out to be one of the worst economic setbacks since the Great Depression.  The true unemployment rate is higher than the 7.2% reported today. Thinking that there are no jobs to be had, discouraged workers are dropping out of the labor force. Many people are working part-time even though they prefer a full-time job. The effective unemployment rate including the discouraged and the part-timers for economic reasons is 13.5% compared to 8.8% a year ago. The higher jobless rate is feeding upon itself and will exceed 9% during the first half of 2010.... –Sung Won Sohn, Smith School of Business and Economics

Last night in the GOP debate Governor Perry admitted to have created 'low paying jobs' BUT, he stated, "They were above MINIMUM WAGE."  Yep.

President George W. Bush entered office in 2001 just as a recession was starting, and is preparing to leave in the middle of a long one. That’s almost 22 months of recession during his 96 months in office.
His job-creation record won’t look much better. The Bush administration created about three million jobs (net) over its eight years, a fraction of the 23 million jobs created under PresidentBill Clinton‘s administration and only slightly better than President George H.W. Bush did in his four years in office.
Here’s a look at job creation under each president since the Labor Department started keeping payroll records in 1939. The counts are based on total payrolls between the start of the month the president took office (using the final payroll count for the end of the prior December) and his final December in office.
Because the size of the economy and labor force varies, we also calculate in percentage terms how much the total payroll count expanded under each president. The current President Bush, once taking account how long he’s been in office, shows the worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records. –Sudeep Reddy

The interesting statistic that Republicans are clamoring about is illustrated in the table below.  If President Obama started out with a vibrant economy, I'd say they might have something, but, considering the negative numbers were inherited from two previous years, that is quite a stretch.

The problem with Republicans bragging about their unemployment rates, is that there is NO QUALITY OF LIFE FOR that accompanies employment with their bragging rights.
To begin with wages are required by laws to be above minimum wage.  I don't consider production of jobs that pay above minimum wage a huge accomplishment for any governor.

The unemployment rate in January 2008 was 4.9 and in December 2008 was 7.2.

President Obama was elected.

The unemployment rate in January 2009 was 7.6 and in December 2009 was 10.0.

The unemployment rate in January 2010 was 9.7 and in December 2010 was 9.4 .

Republicans took the US House Majority.

The unemployment rate in January 2011 was 9.0 and in August 2011 it is 9.0.

While the job growth is not extraordinary it certainly didn't stagnant completely until a hostile US House was taken by a Republican Majority.  That greatest 'stagnation' in the unemployment rate occurred in the months from January 2011 through August 2011.  The GOP doesn't want to admit there has been improvement in the job growth in the private sector under this President and the unemployment rates would be much lower had there not been such drastic contraction in the public employment sector in the country.

President Obama is creating jobs, it is just that economic contraction has reached the public sector with draconian agenda's by many Republican Governors and a very lethargic Republican US House.

How is it that jobs in natural resources, namely oil and gas, in Texas pay so poorly?.
