The accidents by qualified employees have always been part of this industry. Between the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico it has not improved. Then enter the issues in refineries and the cost to the planet at the pump and the deaths and injuries escalate. I don't know of any other industry given permission for such workplace danger. I am told, "It is the nature of the beast." Indeed.

The dangers inherent in this industry cannot be overstated, as the statistics on oil rig deaths paint a grim picture of the reality faced by these workers.  Overall, deaths among those working in the OGE industry rose sharply from 2016 until 2019....
