This is the worse idea ever to have been conceived for NASA. May I remind that NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The threat from Russia, China and North Korea is so significant there is no way this type of dogmatic workforce reduction serves the national security of the USA.

Earlier in 2025, acting NASA administrators and the office of management and budget issued directives to slash NASA’s workforce, committing to a reduction in force of over 4000 employees. From the end of September through January 9th, 2026, thousands of longtime NASA employees are set to leave the agency as priorities are re-aligned away from science and STEM education. Despite the unconstitutionality of these moves, they are proceeding, with the longstanding pipeline to join NASA now closed to young aspirants. This is a farewell to the NASA we all knew....
