Flint - An engineering firm (click here) accused of having some responsibility for Flint’s lead-contaminated water in 2014-15 has settled a lawsuit with four families, months after a jury couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict in August.
Details of the agreement between the families and Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, known as LAN, were not publicly disclosed in federal court in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
“To avoid the significant costs, expenses and time of another protracted trial, the parties were able to reach a mutually agreeable resolution, subject to court approval,” LAN attorney Wayne Mason told MLive.com.
The families sued LAN and another company, Veolia North America, accusing them of not doing enough to get Flint to treat the highly corrosive water or to urge a return to a regional water supplier.
Flint’s water became contaminated because water pulled from the Flint River wasn’t treated to reduce its effect on lead pipes. Citing cost, managers appointed by then-Gov. Rick Snyder switched to the river in 2014 while awaiting a new pipeline to Lake Huron....

Citing costs. Financial costs. The costs to a minority community was not in the balance. The costs in the way of human life, longevity, wellness and a childhood free of poisons in their bodies was NEVER part of the decisions made to subvert a freely elected Mayor and Council and directly introduce poison into the homes of Flint residents.
This is nothing but racism. Pure and simple.

Amazing. The Greenback actually was more important in decision making then the quality of life and life itself within the City of Flint.
Snyder covered the poisoning up for an entire year and I am confident when the news broke on the Rachel Maddow Show, Snyder was upset over the exposure of his Emergency Manager Law's deathly outcomes.
AN ENTIRE YEAR WENT BY AND STILL NO INVESTIGATION THAT HOLDS SNYDER ACCOUNTABLE.

SNYDER COVERED UP DEATHS AND MAIMING AND MISCARRIAGES FOR OVER A YEAR AND NO ONE IS HOLDING HIM RESPONSIBLE. HE NOT ONLY COVERED IT UP, HE ALLOWED THE POISONING TO CONTINUE. THIS IS RACISM AT ITS WORST AND NO ONE IS HOLDING SNYDER ACCOUNTABLE. THIS DIDN'T GO ON WITHOUT HIM KNOWING.
The charges brought against Snyder, “were not properly brought and must be dismissed at this time,” an order signed on December 7 by Judge Kay Behm said.
This is called corruption and I defy anyone that says differently.
