It was May Day and there was violence in many places including Turkey. "Nationalism" Russia is desperate.

There is a reason NATO is in Georgia.  Putin has an agenda. Desperate people do desperate things. There is no reason for Russia to be carrying on like this with revitalization of old regime rituals unless there is an agenda. Nothing else makes sense.

There is too much going on in Russia. Registering dual citizenship residents, emigrants expected in the post soviet nations and institutional cultural requirements. There is an agenda that was set in motion and it has nothing to do with sanctions or any actions by The West. There is something really wrong.

Russia celebrated May Day (click here) with its first joyful parade across Red Square since the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, as President Vladimir Putin basked in a surge of patriotism over Crimea's annexation. In Turkey, scores were injured in clashes with police.
Elsewhere in the world, demonstrators turned out Thursday to press their demands for better treatment on the holiday also known as International Workers' Day. A rally also turned violent in Cambodia's capital.

Security forces in Istanbul's iconic Taksim Square pushed back demonstrators with water cannons and tear gas. Protesters retaliated by throwing objects at police and using slingshots. Police said 142 people were detained and 90 were injured, 19 of them police officers....

Maybe Merkel got the word about Putin's agenda. One of her aides was partying with Putin. I find it strange she is a messenger for Putin.
