Photographer states :: Once in the eye, the view was breath taking even at night. The moon had just risen over the top of the eyewall and lightning lit up the eyewall all around us.

Photographer states :: The first eyewall penetration was a bit rough but not too bad. The wind field was incredibly tight.We had winds less than 50 knots at flight until we got within a few milesof the eyewall. Once inside, the plane was surrounded on radar by a ring of high winds and rain.
