GOES East water vapor satellite
The wind pulsed all night in Wilmington. It was about 3 AM when the intervals between wind and calm became longer. It is because the 'oscillating' vortex moved south. It will continue to build in water vapor density. That is why it looks so odd today. The water vapor is literally being sucked into the vortex to accommodate a higher velocity of wind capacity. A hurricane can't do it's job of redistributing heat from the air into the water without velocity and water circulation between the air and sea. So. It's drawing in heat capacity/calories/fuel and water vapor from everywhere and become a very interesting phenomena so early in the season. Pre-season you could call it. I won't be surprised if it decends futher south and returns back north along the same path Dennis took.
The seas get too rough and these folks believe it's simply an opportunity to practice for the Hawaiian Pacific wave competition. What do you do with folks that don't care enough about themselves to listen to common sense? I know, put up rules, like NO SWIMMING, NO SURFING when waves and currents are determined to be unsafe. Sound like a plan? Ah, but this is North Carolina and no one tells anyone what to do in the face of incredible odds because it's a Red State. That is simply called government foolishness ! It exists because with more law there is a need for enforcement. That costs money and of course money is more important than life ever could be. Couldn't live without it acutally. Or could I?
