Separation of Church and State

When it was known Russia was passing a discriminatory law regarding the LGBT community, it sounded too much like the spread of Christian Evangelical dogma through political systems. Rachel Maddow found a link between the Russian movement and a religious organization called, "World Congress of Families." (click here) It all started to come together. But, I took further.

The Evangelicals aren't conspirators, they are a movement, albeit, a movement of hate, but a movement just the same.

"The K Street Gang: The Rise and Fall of the Republican Machine" (click here)

In the USA there is suppose to be separation of church and state. It has been watered down by the Robert's Court. But, when one looks at the way Americans were indoctrinated into a Culture of Fear, I had to ask myself why. There was the obvious Wall Street reasons of greed as with Vietnam; but; was it the only reason if I am to believe there is a religious political movement to tie government to the promotion of religious dogma.

In the USA there was an organization known only as "The Family" that provided special treatment to Republicans in Congress.

"The Family Foundation" (click here) is located in Virginia and provides substantial fellowships to those that seek it. Abraham Vereide founded the organization in 1935 as well as "The National Prayer Breakfast." He was well known to people such as Billy Graham and rubbed elbows with political leaders on a regular basis. He founded Goodwill Industries. He died in 1969 and would not consent to the "The Family" as it exists today.

In 2008, the year it was fairly obvious the Republicans were going to lose their grip on the USA, there was a book published. It was written by Jeff Sharlet.

Jeff Sharlet told NBC News that when he was an intern with the Fellowship "we were being taught the leadership lessons of Hitler, Lenin and Mao" and that Hitler's genocide "wasn't an issue for them, it was the strength that he emulated."

"The Family; The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power" (click here)

The troubling realization of the growing discrimination in Russia and the link to extremists Christians is too spooky. Let me propose a 'dynamic' that could be instilled in a culture strong enough to drive the politics of a nation. It was not long ago NGOs were being regarded as trouble by the Russian government.

Iraq was a war of choice. What if an NGO went into a First World Communist nation with the idea that fear of the USA, as demonstrated in reality, by parking missiles at Russian borders, causing nuclear escalation with North Korea and Iran, ignoring the tragedies and deaths by the Polish government and the new nations backed by the Russian government, could actually bring about war; would the naive believe that was possible unless they converted to a Christian god that pleased the USA?

Now, to be fair to the then President Bush, he stated openly that Muslims were not the problems, but, the Islamic Fascists were. So, in a back handed way that only Bush could state, he was attempting to mitigate hatred. But, for a nation, the only Superpower to be angry all the time and seek war and conflict all the time is a strange posture for the USA.

What allows NGOs into a sovereign nation? I am not talking United Nations. Either an invitation or war.

...The NGO Coordination Committee for Iraq, (click here) or NCCI, is an independent initiative that was launched by a group of NGOs present in Baghdad in April 2003. At the time of inception, the 14 original members focused on establishing a base for objective aid coordination, highlighting intervention priorities and optimizing aid responses in Iraq. NCCI’s activities eventually evolved in accordance with the changing situation in Iraq, and in turn the organization developed into a comprehensive forum where NGOs can exchange information regarding humanitarian activities and policy decisions in Iraq....

For an organization of NGOs to thrive immediately after the March invasion by the USA is astounding and is not a mistake or coincidence.

Senator Reid and Minority Leader Pelosi need to do something abourt the poor leadership in the House.

...Who is the tea party? (click here) Well, understand, when I was in school I studied government, among other things. And prior to World War I and after World War I we had the anarchists. Now, they were violent. Some say that's what started World War One, the anarchy movement. But they were violent. They did damage to property and they did physical damage to people. The modern anarchists, don't do that. That's the tea party. But they have the same philosophy as the early anarchists. They do not believe in government. Any time anything bad happens to government, that's a victory for them....

Senator Reid needs to pass a bill in the Senate stating no paychecks for anyone for the same length of time the government is unfunded after the funding is passed. In other words, if the government is not funded for a week, then the Congress receives no pay for the week of deadlock and an additional week as a tax to make up for the damage that occurred during that week of disruption.

Call it "The Tardy Tax." For everyday the Congress is tardy at doing the work assigned them they are doubly taxed as a penalty.

And no one saw this coming? Well, congratulations, living in bliss is killing people.

"...Right at the edge of the foothills. A half a year's rain, in hours...."

172 people unaccounted for? I am assuming some are children. What river is this?

St. Vrain, Poudre and Big Thompson Rivers. Three rivers. People literally drove to their deaths.

Stay off the roads? What roads? There is complete undermining of the entire infrastructure. The area needs to be evacuated, never mind about roads. Those people should be nowhere near this water.

Elevation. About fifty feet of elevation made the difference between life and death.

It is because of drought. There have been major fires in the area. The vegetation was damaged. Nearby areas have reported rock and mudslides since July because of devastating fires followed by rain.

The elevations change rapidly in the area. The mountains are over 13,000 feet and Denver, Colorado is the Mile High City at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet. That means the rain in the mountains had nothing stopping it, caused erosion at high elevations and washed down stream at a high rate of speed because it was falling 7000 feet.

US Drought Monitor

Colorado was dry and the areas north of Denver are no longer under a drought threat.

Denver and the areas north are the areas effected today. It is the yellow and white areas on the Colorado Drought Map. It has been getting significant rain since the wildfires. That is what did this.

The drought thoughout the USA is historic. The trend from 'baseline' began in 2011 and began to spike summer of 2012. Drought is the same type of disaster as any tornado or hurricane, but, has a long timeline. The loss of vegetation opens the land to excoriating heat that will result in huge erosion and soil loss once the rains start. Governors across the nation, especially where there has been sustained drought, need to assess their exposure to DROUGHT IN RELATION TO ELEVATION and lower lying cities and towns.

Emergency warnings need to be ongoing and early, but, the people of these cities and towns need to understand the danger that might be involved where they live. 172 people had no idea what was coming!

A rubber ducky floats down Ninth Street alongside North Boulder Park in Boulder, Colorado, on September 12.
Governors need to pay attention and UNDERSTAND the threat the Climate Crisis is bringing. It wasn't like this should be a surprise. This is what happens when legislators decide they know more than the science and the scientists. This is what happens. I don't feel sorry for anyone, except, the citizens that were lied to and mislead by their leaders and their propagandized political media.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE DON'T LIVE WITH THE TRUTH !

Chemical weapons and the killing of civilians (click here)

Oxfam condemns any use of chemical weapons in Syria, along with the continued indiscriminate killing of civilians in the country.  All parties to the conflict in Syria should respect international humanitarian law and at all times facilitate the work of UN teams investigating alleged chemical weapons attacks.
Ultimately, there needs to be a political solution to this crisis. The humanitarian suffering caused by the crisis is already staggering. More than 100,000 lives have been lost and nearly two million people have fled to neighboring countries. There is a clear risk that Western governments ratcheting up the rhetoric and preparing for military intervention will make the situation worse.
Instead of focusing on military options and arming parties to the conflict, President Obama, President Putin and other world leaders should put aside their differences and intensify peaceful efforts to stop the bloodshed, before Syria is destroyed and the region further destabilized.

Iran's new president Hassan Rouhani (click here) has called for "serious and substantive" negotiations with the international community about its nuclear programme.
At the first news conference since his inauguration on Sunday, Mr Rouhani said he was confident both sides' concerns could be resolved in a short time.
But a solution could be reached solely through "talks, not threats", he added.

Prime Minister Lavrov is a very powerful man, don't underestimate him. He can make or break a peace process. He deserves The West's respect. He smiled widely when Secretary Clinton put forward a Reset Button. He has a vision of peace.

New Iran president on first foreign trip (click here)

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has made his first foreign trip since taking office.
He joined leaders from Russia, China and Central Asian states in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek.
James Reynolds reports.

You see, how terrible the world was under extremists. It takes two to tango. The Axis of Evil speech was the worst thing that ever happened to the USA's reputation. It pegged the USA as an extremist and one that other nations had to protect from.

This is huge. I think President Rouhani will move the Shi'tie nation eons toward peace and progress for their children to compete in the real world. I have great hope for his presidency.

And yes, I am willing to believe in this change in leadership. How can on reciprocate good will unless it is first extended in great anticipation of peace.

Iran has recently converted more than 40% (click here) of its stockpile of enriched uranium to fuel rods for use in a civilian reactor and is in the process of converting the rest, the country's nuclear chief has announced on state television.
The claim aired by Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, was the latest signal from newly inaugurated President Hassan Rouhani's government that Tehran is working to allay Western fears about its nuclear programs.
Rouhani last week moved to transfer authority from Iran's religious hierarchy to his elected government for nuclear programs and international negotiations on their scope and transparency. The move was hailed by both the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna and the six world powers that have been at work for the last two years trying to ensure that Iran isn't preparing to build nuclear weapons.
“Although we know the nuclear case against us is fabricated, we are ready to relieve the other side’s concern,” Salehi said in the televised Thursday night interview, reported by the semiofficial Fars News Agency on Friday....

WATERTOWN - It was all about water in Watertown on Thursday. (click here) The first lady paid a special visit to the high school to launch her new Drink Up campaign.
Michelle Obama is trying to sell a generation hooked on soda or energy drinks that water is not only cool - it's the original energy drink.
"I just want us to make a little toast," said Mrs.Obama as she addressed a huge crowd of students. "I know you guys have been practicing this. We've got our Drink Up water bottles."
The first lady was the toast of the town as she kicked off her nationwide Drink Up campaign to get kids and everyone else to drink more water.
"You can choose anything in the world to drink, but when you choose water, you truly are choosing the best thing you can for yourself," said Mrs. Obama.
Mrs. Obama picked Watertown, also home to a couple of companies that produce soft drinks, to promote the healthier H-2-O choice....

Coca-cola is missing the boat on water preference. There are flavor options without artificial sweetening or sugar.

There is no reason why Coca-Cola can't market their 'alternative' choices in the form pocket sized flavors.

The First Lady gets incredible results. The obesity epidemic is starting to be reversed and she is directly responsible for that. If I were a beverage marketer I would not miss out on "The Healthy Water Craze" in the country.

Say goodbye to soda, juice, and bottled water (click here) with these refreshing, healthy flavors! I'm keeping 2-3 flavors of this "spa water" in my fridge now, so I have a variety to motivate me to drink more water....
...Subtle flavor without sweetness
These aren't sweet waters, so they'll be disappointing if that's what you're expecting. This is water with subtle flavors infused into it. Water with a little something extra. A touch of flavor--not an explosion of flavor--with little or no sweetness. You've probably had pitchers of ice water with lemon served at restaurants. This is the same idea, but with more variety. Many spas serve fancy waters like these, and it turns out that they couldn't be simpler to make. And, they are oh-so-refreshing....

Coca-Cola is a good partner with Americans, but, they have to move up in morality and bring along a good, healthy flavor for water that comes along in a lunch box. For the investment Coca-Cola makes in the people of the USA I would think they would put their 'full moral game' on and not just go halfway.

In this June 7, 2012 file photo, Steve Cahillane, president of Coca-Cola Americas, makes a point during an interview with the Associated Press while attending the Clinton Global Initiative America gathering in Chicago. Cahillane is scheduled to be at at the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in Wilmington, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, to sign a five-year partnership with U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to restore watersheds that have been damaged or altered by development, wildfires and agriculture. CHICAGO — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (click here) and Coca-Cola signed a five-year agreement Friday to restore watersheds that have been damaged or altered by development, wildfires and agriculture as part of an initiative to slow runoff and replenish groundwater on federal lands.Such efforts are increasingly important to corporations and farmers who rely on water and to tens of millions of people whose drinking water originates in the national forest system, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said. But federal budget cuts and the wide scope of the problem have the USDA turning to partnerships with nonprofit groups and corporations for help....

What Judd Gregg does not understand is that actions speak far louder than words

Paulson left with the goods. He took his wad of cash and went to China. And like a cursed idol he then saw devaluing economic trends in China. Now he wants to make Goldman Sachs 2 - China an American liability when he does the same stupid stuff he did before, but, without Chinese regulation. Then China will have to bail him out, but, what he forgets is that the Chinese sentenced the "Baby Formula" and "Dog Chow" manufacturers to death.

If he is relying on the same compassion from the Chinese as from Americans he is barking up the wrong tree. He won't be met with anything, but, distain; unless George "W"'s brother has influence, then he might receive an exist visa and be grateful for it.

Quantitative Easing was to put 'liquid capital' in the hands of a recovering financial systems since it was believed the banks had no residual cash to lend Americans.

There was a cap on QE1 and QE2. There is still no cap on QE3 since it was designed to meet stubborn unemployment figures. The banks are simply feeding at the trough and have no intention of doing anything else with an infinite timeline.

It has to end and stop the ideologies being toyed with by the financial sector. Americans need to build their OWN local economies, enjoy and make it their future and that of their children.

"Wrap you mind around the idea that a well educated society rich with diversity and value of all that is possible is a great America. Economic growth comes out of ideas and not population. The greatest sin in pursing that path is the desire to be full of goodness and possibility. That is never a bad thing. Economies can be what a society makes it and not just based on fulfilling a need. Does the carnival ride fulfill a need? No, but, it sure is fun. AND SAFE."

America's greatest need is disposable income. It builds rainy day funds, a down payment on a home and QUALITY OF LIFE. Where do Americans find disposable income? Unions and vibrant local economies. What happens with disposable income? Spending, a larger economy, more opportunity and a larger tax base leading to more police, firefighters, teachers and better educational opportunity infrastructure.

Judd Gregg is actually stating TARP was the savior of the Middle Class and the American economy?

Let's start with this. This is a joke. The Global Economic COLLAPSE was actually a collapse. I reality Paulson never felt it, but, it did destroy the global economy. It just didn't destroy the FEW banks left standing. And the truth is, the ONLY major bank still standing that should be still standing is JP Morgan.

Republicans went "too far" (click here) when they spearheaded the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999, a top GOP lawmaker said Monday.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said that many of his current colleagues erred when they voted to repeal the 1932 act that mandated, among other things, the separation of commercial and investment banking.

"There's no question that, in 1999, when they 'deregulated' by getting rid of Glass-Steagall — something that was done with a Republican Congress and a Democratic president — I think we really went too far in saying there are banks and there are non-banks and they can own each other," Issa said Monday during an appearance on "Imus in the Morning" on the Fox Business Network....

This bears the DEMAND that banks are not only best regulated, but, small enough to actually manage.

The reason Paulson is screaming there is going to be another collapse is because he is a Wealth Junkie and he has spent all the liquidity he gained with Quantitative Easing. The 'start up' in China was not cheap and I guarantee his creature comforts were and are plenty.

That is the huge folly and "Good Ole Boy's Club" of Bernanke. He kept padding the pockets of the wealthy because, "Well, we just aren't there yet, Ben." And of course, Gentle Ben wanted to create a more bearish economy that was stable and unshakable.

What Bernanke created instead was so much liquidity it INHERITED disaster along with it. Why? Because all the same old players are in place STILL and no one learned anything, except, how to capitalize on failure.

All the regulations have to go back in place, "Bank Fitness Tests" have to be chronic and Quantitative Easing has to stop, it is destroying the monetary systems of countries.

Paulson is a parasite, he needs to take his whining elsewhere. "It is for the record." Like hell, it is for the propaganda.

Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Judd Gregg, CEO at Securities Industry & Financial Market Association, recalls his personal experience in meetings with former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson about the TARP program and the public perception of the program. He speaks on Bloomberg Television's "Bloomberg Surveillance."

No more cheap construction along the Jersey Shore.

Slate roofs and fire walls with sprinkler systems. Redundancy is a good thing. The reason construction is never that expensive is because of the possibility of hurricanes. The fire danger has to be mitigated to build better structures. The other possibility are concrete block walls. Whatever.

I can't believe how lame this is.

There are no 'gotcha questions' in diplomacy. It is about RELIABLE partners. A Top Secret mission to move munitions to undermine the diplomatic process and 'go to guns' is pure stupidity. People on the ground on both sides of the negotiations will be pulling all kinds of nonsense in order to undermine the diplomatic process. Some can be mitigated and some can't. But, this is similar to the end of a war. It is where the national leaders have signed the peace treaty, but, there are 'DEAD ENDERS' that just don't get it yet.

Evidently, The West's press 'just don't get it.' The media dead enders are everywhere.

Those are outrageous demands by the rebels. They aren't interested in keeping people alive so much as prosecute Assad.

These levels of resistance to progress of peace are unhelpful. They don't want to save their own people's lives? I doubt the top level movement of Syria's weapons are the Assad forces, so much as WHOM is moving what.

Do I think the Wall Street journal has top secret attachments that the United Nations don't? No. Murdoch's empire is known to be liars and propagandists. Just because the USA is stuck with the Wall Street journal on this issue, it has to be validated in duplicity outside of the USA. There is too much political baggage in the USA to consider the media honest and forthright, especially when it comes to Murdoch.

Where is the OFFICIAL assessment?

Murdoch is not a reliable source of anything. His media outlets only seek to inflame the circumstances. His organizations are Wall Street and support that point of view. In my opinion, their corporate model is so tainted it is completely invaluable. The only reason they are still in business is because Murdoch has created a local media monopoly. Most, if not all other news agencies in the USA are dependent on the local information and cover FOX provides. If 'citizen journalists' really want 'a place in it,' they need to provide the local coverage now provided by the national fleet of FOX media wagons.

CBS News/ September 12, 2013, 5:04 AM

...Late Wednesday, Gen. Salim Idriss, (click here) the head of the SNC's military council, said in a video posted online that he and his fellow rebel commanders "announce our definitive rejection of the Russian initiative to place chemical weapons under international custody."

"We ask that the international community not be content with withdrawing chemical weapons, which are a criminal instrument, but to hold the perpetrator accountable and prosecute him at the International Criminal Court," Idriss said, blaming Assad for an Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack on the Damascus suburbs which the Obama administration says left at least 1,400 people dead....

There used to be a CHEMICAL FOAM TRUCK at Dow in Bound Brook

DOW is still there. They have state of the art fire equipment. They have to for the operation they have. I don't know how the Plant Manager will view sending it to Seaside Heights and leave the plant without it's foam truck, but, he might be able to shutter some of the operation there to provide help.

New Jersey has a lot of interesting companies with interesting equipment. The Governor needs to send out a request for EXPERTISE. There are few PhD Emergency Managers in the country, but, it would be worth a try. There used to be some large companies along Route 1.

The Casinos. They have to have some kind of fire equipment. They are multi-story.

There are tired firefighters besides. And the Governor might want to move the journalists a safe distance from danger. I realize he has no fear, but, there are limits.

A lot of these towns have volunteer firefighters, too. Not that they aren't trained well, but, they could be overwhelmed by the enormity of it.

SEASIDE PARK, N.J. — A fire (click here) that started at a New Jersey frozen custard shop in Seaside Park, N.J., and spread to other boardwalk businesses, including FunTown Pier, destroyed much of an iconic boardwalk just rebuilt after Superstorm Sandy.
Emergency personnel arrived at the boardwalk in Seaside Park for a report of smoke about 2:30 p.m. A plume of gray smoke stretches as far north as Ortley Beach, N.J., as fire crews fight to douse the blaze. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
The fire that started at Kohr's Frozen Custard quickly compromised buildings on the west side, including what was left of FunTown Pier — the site of the roller coaster that was pushed into the ocean during Superstorm Sandy. A strong wind has worsened the firefighters' attempts, Police Chief Francis Larkin said...

It started as a inferno. The fire may be too hot for water. Water evaporates and this might be wood, but, the fire will sizzle the water off the fire and it won't smother it.

I think foam is the only thing that will finally stop it. It has to be smothered and robbed of oxygen.

Maybe several water drops from the ocean. They just have to make sure there aren't divers or small boats at the water pick up point.

I don't know that there is much to say about Helms. He was in the Senate a long time, arguably incompetently.

He is the South when the South was Post Civil War and North Carolina had a viable Sons of the Confederacy. The CSA (Confedeate States of America).

Everyone thinks of the Rebel Flag as being the flag of the Confederacy, but, that is not the case. The Rebel Flag was a battle flag, not the sovereign flag.

Helm's North Carolina was tobacco fields, cigarette producers and military bases. Textile mills and the difference between that and the tobacco slaves was the color of their skin. The Poor White Trash that were owned by the mills. They were white, but, they were as slaves as any of any black man after the Civil War.

Very ugly history. History Helms never visited so much as implied. The right to fire anyone at any time, basically "The Right to Work" laws are all based in impoverishment and keeping people 'in their place' and manageable. The Southerns became masters of enslavement Post-Civil War.

So, I am not surprised his name made it's way to the surface. It has been a short period of time since Helm died and yet North Carolina is still sifting through it's bigotry and oppression. Oppression is long lasting. One can say that Helms is responsible of the lack of work to North Carolinians today. The economy of Helms is gone. The mills are closed and outsourced. The tobacco industry can't poison people's lungs anymore.

The military towns are still intact. Helms built a mini-USA in North Carolina. Every branch of the military, except, NASA. Helms could not wrench the space program from Houston. But, in actuality where would he put it? He had the nukes already at Cherry Point, he was just missing the ICBMs. But, in a pinch I am sure he could convince Pope Air Force Base to act in emergence if necessary.

He was a mean man that enjoyed being mean. He was the poster child for Dirty Harry and "Make my day." He is indefensible. He was a horrible human being that was loved by the people of North Carolina for all the federal monies he could skim from the treasury. Basically, that's it. He is not glamorous. He was a horrible person in every aspect of the word. Why discuss Helms? Makes no sense to me. Someone whats to emulate him and bring his politics back to life? Then Senator Cruz is best thought of as a foreign born Senator as he'll have to go to China to find Helm's economy.

The good news is...?????...there is no good news.

Torrential flooding in northern Colorado has resulted in at least three deaths, mudslides, multiple road closures, and the destruction of one dam. The resulting high water levels are impeding search and rescue teams from reaching stranded residents and motorists in the Boulder area northwest of Denver....

The heat island from last week that occupied it's own tropospheric vortex with aerosoled sea spray has attracted it's own tropical storm.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle (click here) hit at Bermuda with wind, rain and rough surf early Wednesday as its center passed near the wealthy British territory, a day after reforming over the Atlantic.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm's center was about 40 miles (65 kilometers) west-southwest of Bermuda early Wednesday and moving northward with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (95 kph).

Government authorities had urged people in the storm-hardened Atlantic territory to finish last-minute preparations, and some residents left work early. Customers crowded into supermarkets to buy candles, batteries and other emergency supplies.
"Gabrielle has proven somewhat unpredictable and so I caution everyone to take this storm seriously and to prepare for the forecast conditions," Public Safety Minister Michael Dunkley said....

See, it takes water vapor to catch heat and develop a circulation center that then gains velocity to become a huge storm or even a smaller tropical depression. Earth is so dry it takes aerosoled water vapor to get the dynamics going. Then when the storm has delivered water into the troposphere is larger dynamics than the aerosoled sea spray it spawns larger storms with higher velocity like the one off Africa headed this way. Sort of where Sandy landed last year but perhaps a little more north.

Swelting temperatures throughout most of the nation is making work by road crews and outdoor workmen and women nearly impossible and certainly threatening.

Their employers need to hand out cooling collars to be worn about the neck, sunscreen, salt tablets and water WITH instructions as well as descriptions of heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The best instruction, "If you don't feel well, call 911." PLEASE.

And Tropical Depression 10  at the Yucatan Peninsula was assisted to circulation by the Florida air mass that gathered there a few days ago heading west across the state. This area has already been hard hit by a previous Tropical Depression Fernand killing 14 people.

More than a dozen people (click here) have died in eastern Mexico, in landslides triggered by heavy rain caused by tropical depression Fernand.
Thirteen people were killed when mud engulfed their homes on hillsides in Veracruz state.

Another man drowned after being swept away by fast-flowing floodwaters in neighbouring Oaxaca.

Fernand made landfall near the Atlantic port city of Veracruz on Monday and weakened as it moved north-west.

DEFUND THE MILITARY!

WASHINGTON | Wed Sep 11, 2013 8:02pm EDT

...The move in the House of Representatives (click here) is the latest indication that a revolt by conservative Republicans is complicating Congress' efforts to deal with looming fiscal deadlines over government funding and the federal debt limit.
The delay pushes Congress closer to the September 30 deadline for approving new government funding. With conservatives demanding a tougher stance on defunding and delaying President Barack Obama's signature healthcare legislation, known as "Obamacare," the chances of a shutdown appear greater.
The conflict is part of what is being called by some analysts a "civil war" within the Republican Party, energized in part by rallies and Tea Party gatherings during the August recess and the organizing efforts of the conservative Heritage Action, a sister to the conservative Heritage Foundation....
