The future of the USA depends of 'reason' and 'truth,' not, pretense and ATTITUDE.
The only thing the GOP has going for it right now is ATTITUDE and a really nasty one, too.
I am been involved in seeking equality and justice for most of my life. I have been involved in petitioning government on a regular basis since about 1983. Never have I witnessed such destruction of decency and the willingness to destroy the fabric of the USA as I have within the last decade.
I am been involved in seeking equality and justice for most of my life. I have been involved in petitioning government on a regular basis since about 1983. Never have I witnessed such destruction of decency and the willingness to destroy the fabric of the USA as I have within the last decade.
I am all for good government and I hope the 118 new House members are 'dreams come true.' They will have a chance to prove how benevolent they can be to their fellow citizens. But, if they are bigots or clowns for Murdoch or rigid in their willingness to legislate to the detriment of this country they will have done nothing but added to the misfits of the GOP and enforced the rest of us to believe their is sincerely no hope for conservatives in a meaningful way.
Then and only then will I be more than willing to admit the best path for the country is State's Rights over and above the need for a strong federal government. At least we'll be rid of them with plenty of time to prepare for LOCAL ECONOMIES and strong local governments.
John McCain has to be the poorest excuse for Right Wing Politics I have witnessed in recent days.
John McCain stated DADT has to be left in place because the USA military is all volunteer and there are 'Service Leaders' that have reservations regarding 'the preference' of those on 'the front lines' of the military.
Basically, Senator McCain has 'sold out' to the Right Wing Extremists that are attempting to prevent repeal of the provision in hopes the GOP will retake the Senate and Executive Branch to continue a march to a 'Christian State.'
He believes 'the front lines' are an exclusive club where they can set their own rules above what the Joint Chiefs state. This is common of the Bush Era military directives. During the Bush White House the Joint Chiefs were nobody and it was only 'the commanders' on the ground that mattered. Commanders on the ground, while important to the battlefield, do not necessary see the entire picture of all the branches of the service, nor how 'cohesion' with other branches makes for a better fighting force.
MELANIE NATHAN – Dec 04-2010 - Don’t Ask As Don’t Tell (DADT) struggles for its imperative repeal in Senate Debates this week, Senators are reaching out across the country to rally support in the hope that constituents can influence Republican die-hard obstructionists. Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont sent an e-mail, statement to constituents today, and it cannot be more aptly stated....
...This week, the Pentagon published a report supporting the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” — giving us even more momentum in this fight. The report clearly shows that repeal would not jeopardize our national security, and that the vast majority of our military personnel is ready to do away with this discriminatory policy.
Some of my Republican colleagues dismiss efforts to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” claiming that calls to end the policy are coming only from politicians and not from within the military itself. Those claims are laughable. Is it really any surprise that members of the military, who are targeted by this discrimination and are legally barred from being honest about who they are, might refrain from speaking out?...
The Palin Children are really polite and very cute children, this is just the picture accompanying the article.
Sarah Palin signs copies of her book, "American by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag" with her daughter Piper at Books-A-Million bookstore in Columbia, S.C. Friday, Dec. 3.
Virginia Postic/AP
I think Sarah Palin has been terribly used by the GOP while they are attempting to discard her. I have stated for years now that she was never well managed as a political contender, but, more or less treated as a 'magnet' to the candidates. Somehow she attracts women that don't find empowerment in they way they seek it otherwise. If she is really sincere about her future in serving the people of the country in some capacity she is going about it the wrong way. Oh, it seems correct, because, they have had a 'good run at it,' and the USA's conservatives were looking for 'a star' to attach themselves to, but, as for Sarah.
She needs to step back from the brink and while I admire her bravery in being willing to 'take on' the 'blue bloods' she needs to consult and seek advise from other 'GOP Discards' such as David Frum.
Murdoch is not helping Sarah. She may like the money no different than Huckabee, but, it isn't going to make for 'good politics' in the long run.
They are rude, crude, uncaring and irreverent to anything other than their 'ideas' of 'Father/Mother Knows Best.'
Paternalistic? You betcha. How does the word "Omnipotent" fit them? More than appropriate, I think.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram

...But Texas' senior senator -- once the most popular Republican in the state in terms of voter support -- has a target on her back if she does run, put there by the increasingly influential and conservative Tea Party grassroots movement.
"She personifies everything that the Tea Party is fighting," said Konni Burton, a member of the Northeast Tarrant Tea Party steering committee. "She is a Republican, but when you check her votes on many issues, they are not ones that conservatives are happy with."
Hutchison hasn't said whether she'll retire or seek re-election in 2012, but several prominent Texans -- including Republicans such as former Secretary of State Roger Williams and Railroad Commissioners Michael Williams and Elizabeth Ames Jones, along with Democratic former Comptroller John Sharp -- have long said they plan to run....
Maine Republicans Adopt Tea Party Platform (click here)
...The official platform for the Republican Party of Maine is now a mix of right-wing fringe policies, libertarian buzzwords and outright conspiracy theories.
The document calls for the elimination of the Department of Education and the Federal Reserve, demands an investigation of "collusion between government and industry in the global warming myth," suggests the adoption of "Austrian Economics," declares that "'Freedom of Religion' does not mean 'freedom from religion'" (which I guess makes atheism illegal), insists that "healthcare is not a right," calls for the abrogation of the "UN Treaty on Rights of the Child" and the "Law Of The Sea Treaty" and declares that we must resist "efforts to create a one world government."...
The extremist views are real. They aren't simply 'election slogans..'
They live the MYTHS created by the Murdochs of the world and invest their hearts and souls into it. They fully expect to 'live the prophecy.' What truly worries me is that the newly elected, 118 Tea Party House Members, have this umbilical cord to their 'core constituency' that will dictate their agenda and priorities. They are acting on MYTHS and half-truths. They have no confidence in their government and seek to destroy it while being prepared to be 'end game' survivors. That isn't where House Representatives need to be putting their loyalties. Murdoch has created, bought and sold these folks. There is plenty to be concerned about.
Analysis: Tea Party lawmakers must be willing to be unpopular (click title to entry - thank you)
And all the Right Wing Media are in 'on it.' They all promote disaster of one kind or another and how to secure from it.
"Don't wait for a computer crisis — protect your irreplaceable files with Carbonite." (click title to entry - thank you)
Rush Limbaugh
They have people so scared of their own shadow, they believe their only security is from 'the gods' of radio. There is nothing wrong with many of the products they sell, but, there are nutrition supplements that dash conventional standards as inferior with an anti-government theme on many occasion. It is really quite pathetic and I only can guess the monies that flow out of the hands of their audience.
You know sometimes, the nutritional supplements seem better than health insurance and doctors.
With the sincerest, heartfelt outreach that can be managed.
And what better place to keep your Gold but in a safe. "A Liberty Safe."

Is anyone understanding how Murdoch is SELLING a LIFESTYLE that enforces Treason and over throw of the government?
"The LAST Days" aren't necessary connected to the Biblical Apocalypse." Defunding the government means nothing to these folks.
Modern Day Emergency Measures - click title to entry - thank you.
Glenn Beck, (click here) and other radio hosts like Alex Jones of Infowars, have often warned of the importance of having sufficient food, and seed storage. The "Emergency Seed Bank" is the answer.
Now short of Natural Disasters that can be survived for a prolonged rescue attempt; where in the American lifestyle does anyone believe such measures are needed?
This is preparation for an economic collapse, so why not let it happen. They probably already have their bunkers and guns. Why not have it all the way they have prepared for it? Yes? Anarchy and treason. What the heck. The South shall rise again.
With Bernanke printing money faster than anyone can imagine spending it...
...the 'survivalists' that hang on every word of the Murdoch Media Circus are prepared for the collapse of the dollar.
Goldline is Glenn Beck's Choice for Gold (click title to entry - thank you).
This isn't paranoya, it is real.
Is my point clear. Bernanke has over $11 Trillion US bonds and securities to dump newly minted money on and the folks that follow 'this philosophy' are looking forward to it. The USA dollar loses value while Gold Futures go through the roof.

So, when Republicans want to find an electorate when seeking the Presidency...
...ANYONE running for the office will appear far more reasonable and 'likeable' and a 'relief' than extremists that 'set the tone' for the imperiled GOP.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, (click title to entry - thank you) on the list of dark horse candidates of many Republicans eager for him to challenge President Obama in 2012, has rejected his mother's slap down of Sarah Palin, calling the Tea Party favorite's political skills "fantastic." In an obvious but diplomatic counter to former first lady Barbara Bush's wish that Palin would hole up in Alaska and not run for president, Bush heaped praise on the former Alaska governor who tops many 2012 presidential populatity polls...
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (click here) was on CNN Friday with John King and was asked that ever so popular question.
King said, “We always reach out to our friends on Twitter and Facebook while we’re having big guests on the program and we told them you were coming on to the program. Here’s what one of our Facebook fans, Kyle Hunter, asked me to ask. Would he endorse Palin for president if he does not run himself?”
Bush replied, “A, I’m not running and if Sarah Palin’s the nominee and if she’s running against Barack Obama, you betcha.”

Twice last week Representative Mike Pence, who has aspirations to the Presidency in 2012, stated he believed the USA debt should be capped at 20% unless AT WAR.
Hm.
So, according the Senator from South Carolina, the USA will be 'at war' in perpetuity.
As I said the first day I heard Pence make his statement on "Morning Joe" there will always be exceptions for Republicans to avoid FISCAL responsibility because they see the USA as the "Global Police" and chronically at war.
The Republicans have real issues with control and they over-reach no matter what the subject may be. This is no exception. We have witnessed over three decades of their over-reaching with the most extreme noted during The Bush Era. Republicans have no desire to be Fiscally Responsible unless it serves their political purposes and ambitions for rhetorical rants.
It is far easier to be 'scared' with a gun draw all the time, then to seek peace and assume that posture. We are not AT WAR with any sovereign nation and never will be unless Republicans do their usual war dance for purposes of wealth.

On "Parker-Spitzer" Senator Lindsey Graham stated he thought it best to be in Afghanistan in perpetuity.
Sen. Graham: No Quick End To "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (click here)
It’s unfortunate (click here) that the Republicans are content on disparaging members of the military solely based on their preference of who they choose to go to bed with. There is simply no logic to this and you’d think that in the 21st century we’d have advanced beyond such archaic “bogeymen” as homosexuals. As I’ve pointed out before, they’ve always been in the military and served as honorably as anyone else. I still have yet to hear a valid argument as to why they should have to continue to hide in the shadows.Regarding the tax cuts, I agree with Graham. Either extend the Bush tax cuts for everyone or extend them for no one. The class warfare needs to stop.
Lindsay Grahma is typical of Republicans. They are scared of their own shadow and need to control every aspect of life including the lives of all other people.
Republicans never trust a government to do the best for their people because they are too coward to INSURE their own safety at the expense of other Americans, American treasure and the lives and sovereignty of other citizens and their governments.

There's a war goin on outside, no man is safe from
You could run but you can't hide forever

You walkin witcha head down scared to look
You shook, cause ain't no such things as halfway crooks
They never around when the beef cooks in my part of town

Now we all grown up and old, and beyond the cop's control
They better have the riot gear ready
Tryin to bag me and get rocked steady
by the mac one-double, I'll cut you
and leave you with not much to go home wit
My skin is thick, cause I be up in the mix of action
if I'm not at home, puffin lye relaxin
New York got a nigga depressed
So I wear a slug-proof underneath my Guess
God bless my soul, before I put my foot down and begin to stroll
And to the drama I built, and all unfinished beef
You will soon be killed, put us together
It's like mixin vodka and milk
I'm goin out blastin, takin my enemies with me
and if not, they scarred, so they will never forget me
Lord forgive me the Hennesey got me not knowin how to act
I'm fallin and I can't turn back
or maybe it's the words from my man Killa Black
that I can't say so it's left a untold fact, until my death
My goal's to stay alive

Ask my man Twin when he got bagged, that fucked me up God

You can't find a shorty to troop your bid witchu
Hit wit a 2 to 4 it's difficult
Wild on the streets I try to maintain
Tight with my loot, cause hoes like to run game
Some niggaz like to trick but I ain't wit that trickin shit

Will everyone please get a grip ! Paul Krugman is going to be a very lonely man before too much longer.
To begin with if Americans seriously want to address the deficit, STOP BERNANKE.
Fed could launch QE3: Bernanke (click here)
By Hao Li
December 4, 2010 5:31 PM EST
...Fed Vice Chairwoman Janet Yellen said the Fed is "open to further action if it turns out the economy remains sufficiently weak or if [Fed officials are] sufficiently worried about further disinflation in the medium-term."...
The post election celebration by Bernanke is bringing the value of the USA dollar down. What does that do to OUR NATIONAL DEBT? Anyone want to guess? The geniuses are pushing all kinds of monetary policies and leaning on China and don't even stop to realize what a really cheap USA dollar is going to do to the nation's debt.
The USA has $11 Trillion in bonds and USA securities 'out there.' Does everyone realize what is going to happen to the USA dollar if Bernanke 'goes slap happy' again?
THE EXCHANGE RATE MATTERS.
As far as the tax cuts. DON'T. Let the Bush Era Tax Cuts expire. The Republicans are holding the country's Middle Class hostage and that is nothing more than extortion. The Bush Era Tax Cuts need to expire and when the Congress returns in January they can go to work on the entire restructuring of the USA deficit with the Simpson/Bowles Commission in hand. There is no reason to make any tax cuts permanent until the nation starts a dialogue about the future.
The Simpson/Bowles Commission could not be agreed upon and there needs to be separate leglislation regarding each and every aspect of the commission's findings. It is hideous to think one legislative measure is going to resculpture every aspect of NEEDED CHANGE to end the deficit. That would be an outrageous measure and there is no way it can be that comprehensive, the USA infrastructure is too complex and intricate. DO NO HARM is the first concept that comes to mind.
The Deficit Commission has created a 'soft landing' for the restructuring. I think there is time to review the findings and bring several pieces of legislation before the Congress to begin the process.
There is an aspect to obstruction of the new majority in the Senate (41-59). The 59 Democrats are now a miniorty in their own majority. They can't get anything done and there are some real reasons for that and it revolves around the new extremism by the GOP which started the day of President Obama's Inauguration. The Republicans are destroying the USA government as I write this and no one is addressing that. Their obstructionism is forcing citizens to surrend to the 'idea' they have no choice, but, it goes beyond that and it is that reality I will address tomorrow.
Until them.

Who screwed up the Jobs Report, Boner? Of is Wall Street simply seeing a 'change of horse in midstream' and pulling back? Hm.
Could be a change in paradyme has stalled the economy 'seasonally.'
Let's see.
...Viewed in isolation, (click title to entry - thank you) the report might dash holiday cheer and raise new doubts about the strength of the economy's recovery from the worst downturn in 70 years. However, many analysts were skeptical that the Bureau of Labor Statistics survey was accurate in light of a stream of recent reports showing vitality reviving in retail and auto sales, consumer confidence, manufacturing and even private surveys of job creation....
The auto business may be doing well, but, it is only recently that GM began to open facilities and hire people, so that would be a delayed response to 'the news.'
I know this is going to sound strange, but, a shift in paradyme is sometimes met with a 'transition' slow down. In other words, the economy is growing, but, hasn't received a full head of steam and the COLLAPSED economy of 2008 is still diminishing in size. I don't believe the 'new economy' has surpasses the collapse yet and one has to realize this is NOT a negative number of jobs even if very small.
...The Bill pleased the renewable energy and environment sector because of the inclusion of $490 million to fund training programs for green workers from all walks of life. It created various green jobs such as organic farming, recycling, manufacturing green products and even green school teaching. It also produced renewable energy jobs like solar installer, wind turbine installer, wind energy technician and energy retrofit installer....

I sincerely believe the economy is very complicated with a sincere shift in econoimc paradigms and then there was the 2010 elections which are completely bizarre and it has had to made a negative impression no investors. The people elected in The Tea Party are unfamiliar to investors. Scary stuff.
The Tea Party candidates hate government and want to defund the entire federal structure. That has got to send chills down the spine of investors. The nation has seen these small 'private sector' numbers before.

Investors don't want the rug pulled out from under them if there is going to be defunding of the federal government and there are mass numbers of unemployed. That would definately slow the economy. So all the hostile RHETORIC doesn't really instill confidence, if anything it makes it worse. I find it really interesting how complete amateurs simply LASH OUT at reports that are produced to assit analyists without knowing what the hell they are saying.
Okay, this is starting to make a little bit of sense now. Remember how in 2009 there were no loans for small businesses after Wall Street was bailed out? Yes? U.S. private sector job growth highest in 3 years-WRAPUP 2 (click here)

USA-ECONOMY/ (WRAPUP 2)
* US private sector adds 93,000 jobs in November-ADP
* Planned November U.S. layoffs up at 48,711-Challenger
* US productivity increased at 2.3 pct annual rate (Adds details)
By Caroline Valetkevitch
NEW YORK, Dec 1 (Reuters) - U.S. private sector payrolls saw their biggest rise in three years in November, lifting optimism about the job market ahead of Friday's key government employment report.
Adding to the view that the U.S. economic recovery was picking up steam, non-farm productivity grew faster than previously estimated in the third quarter.
U.S. private employers added a stronger-than-forecast 93,000 jobs in November, the biggest rise since November 2007, after an upwardly revised gain of 82,000 the month before, according to data Wednesday by ADP Employer Services, which jointly developed the report with Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.
Economists in a Reuters poll had expected a rise of 69,000 private-sector jobs in November. For details, see [ID:nEAP102100]
"It is just another sign of re-acceleration in the labor market. Some of the details suggest that there is a 60 percent chance that the government's payroll number could beat consensus," said John Canally, Investment Strategist at LPL Financial in Boston....The USA Private Sector (LOCAL ECONOMIES) are only getting up and running. That is the issue. There is one other graph to illustrate this really clearly, let me get it. The 'tan' areas are the private sector. I'll be back in a few.
The goods sector (click here)contracted for the second consecutive year, falling 5.3 percent in 2009, led by a downturn in durable-goods manufacturing.
Construction value added contracted for the fifth consecutive year, declining 9.9 percent in 2009.
The services sector fell 1.9 percent, led by a 2.7 percent drop in finance and insurance. Growth in health care helped partially offset declines in this sector....
It amy escape a few Americans, but, most of us remember the CRASH of September 2008. Then what I remember is the fact after the banks and AIG were 'bailed out' they abandoned the USA and small businesses lost their foothold. Bankruptcies and market contraction were the demise of the private sector. You know, WHERE JOB GROWTH happens at times.
September 23, 2010, 4:16 PM EDT
Yeah, that is the Right Wing Extremists favorite RHETORICAL RANT. Somehow, TARP was suppose to ONLY bailout the banks and AIG leaving the CITIZENS without any method to rebuild their destroyed ecooomy. The electorate in some areas of the country actually 'bought it' even though they were suffering from a contracted economy. Amazing. Somehow, reassigning the TARP monies to ACTUAL economic growth and recovery was just too much for the GOP to understand. Oh, well.
But, that is what the poor jobs number are, a combination of a lot of factors that are still in recovery. Let's hope the Republicans and Tea Party don't 'get stupid' rather than 'get it.'
Paradigm shifts, which needed to occur in the USA, do this sort of thing. On a graph it would illustrate the declining OLD economy and the increasing NEW economy. Usually where they MEET only the timeline causes real confusing scenarios.
Small-Businesses Bill Gets Final Approval in Congress (click here)

(Updates with comment from Obama in third paragraph.)
Sept. 23 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Congress gave final approval to legislation aimed at boosting lending to small businesses in what is likely to be the Democrats’ final jobs bill before the Nov. 2 elections.
The House today passed 237-187 a measure offering tax cuts, loans and revived stimulus provisions to ease the flow of credit and show voters that Democrats are trying to boost the economy. The bill, approved by the Senate last week, goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
“The small-business jobs bill passed today will help provide loans and cut taxes for millions of small-business owners without adding a dime to our nation’s deficit,” Obama said in a statement. “I look forward to signing the bill.”
Republicans objected to provisions creating a $30 billion program in which the Treasury Department would buy preferred shares in community banks, with participants paying the government dividends on a scale depending on how much they increase lending. They said the plan amounted to little more than a smaller version of the Troubled Asset Relief Program....
Oh, well.

It has been a long time since there has been such a young family in the White House.
This is our First Family in The Green Room. While I am confident President Obama would like to be with the troops far closer to the holidays than today, he has a wonderful family that needs him at home for Christmas. If there is any gift we could give the troops for Christmas, it would be to bring them home, unfortunately, not this year.
I wish the Commander and Chief, his family and our troops the best the holidays have to offer. We can only hope to improve that happiness in the future by a nation injured and trying to heal.

"I know it's not easy for all you to be away from home, especially during the holiday," Obama told a crowd of nearly 4,000 troops at Bagram Air Base. "We are here to say thank you for everything you do."

Representative Steve King is a real joker, besides being a bigot and plutocrat.
It is a foregone conclusion the vote today in the House was a trial run for the real thing. Everyone is calling it a political vote. I suppose anything could be looked at in that manner, whether it makes the President's desk or not. It is a perfectly acceptable method to put forward a bill for a vote to allow the electorate to know how their elected officials are voting. The vote today was for the benefit of the electorate, not Mr. Boner or Mr. King. It simply shows how completely moronic these men have become for the sake of politics. They are a slave to the politics and are unable to govern. In case there are a majority of Republicans and Tea Baggers that don't understand this DEMOCRATIC method of passing legislation, let me explain. My pleasure, sincerely. This is the time when the electorate of a House Representative can call, write or email their elected offical and let them know what they think. So, Mr. King and Mr. Boner voted "NO." If their constituency, their electorate thought they made a BAD decision, this is their time to act in a democratic way as an individual to let them know how they see things.
Got it now? The RHETORICAL Republicans and Tea Baggers are completely blind sided by their OBSESSION with politics over governing. This House vote is important. It changes the tax structure the majority of Americans will pay for the rest of their lives. This is NOT a minor vote. The Middle Class of the USA on occassion will move into a wealthy 'status,' however, they usually earn their income for all their lives. The vote in the House is about them and will effect them and their children permanently. It would be remiss of the House leadership to ignore the importance of a 'preliminary' vote before the final vote was conducted.
It is completely SAD and totally pathetic that 'Chicken Shit' Boner and Steve King can't see that and actually see this vote as a joke. I have to wonder if they see their electorate the same way.
