There are times when I believe Israel isn't at all interested in peace. This is one of those times.
Supporters of President Hassan Rouhani of Iran welcomed the foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in Tehran as he arrived from Switzerland.

TEHRAN — The smiling started (click here) early in Tehran on Sunday, when President Hassan Rouhani kissed a young schoolgirl in an Islamic head scarf before dozens of cameras, signaling that Iran’s future had taken a new turn....
The Israeli practice of evasion has to end. That also does not give permission for a state of emergency to launch into war because there is a change in the level of 'hate speech' by the USA and The West.
Israel is not showing good faith toward negotiations on any front. I can't believe decades have gone by without a sincere peace accord between Israel and Palestine.
Clinton said, somewhat surprisingly, that he never expected to close the deal at Camp David. But he made it clear that the breakdown of the peace process and the nine months of deadly intifada since then were very much on his mind. He described Arafat as an aging leader who relishes his own sense of victimhood and seems incapable of making a final peace deal.
“
He could only get to step five, and he needed to get to step 10,” the former president said. But Clinton expressed hope in the younger generation of Palestinian officials, suggesting that a post-Arafat Palestinian leader might be able to make peace, perhaps in as little as several years.
'“I’m just sorry I blew this Middle East thing,” Clinton said shortly before leaving. “But I don’t know what else I could have done.”
Clinton also revealed that, contrary to most conventional wisdom after Camp David ended on July 25, 2000, the key issue that torpedoed the talks in their final stages was not the division of East Jerusalem between Palestinians and Israelis, but the Palestinian demand for a ‘right of return’ of refugees to Israel.
In this instance Palestine is demanding something outside the rhelm of possibility for two reasons. For Israel to grant a 'right to return' would mean they would be giving up land granted to them by the United Nations after the Holocaust. They would be allowing their nation to be eliminated piece by piece.
Additionally, "The Right of Return" is in reference to an existing sovereign nation. In other words, the refugees in Turkey should have the right of return to Syria when the war has ended and a peace accord is signed.
Israel is a sovereign nation whether Palestine likes it or not. It has a right to exist. There is no Right to Return to Palestine except for the lands specified in any peace accord between the two nations. Israel is Israel and not Palestine. Palestinians by legal international definition cannot return to Israel and call it Palestine. The land was granted as a homeland to Hebrews and it is legal tender. That land is not Palestine and will never be Palestine again. There is no Right of Return for Palestinians to land already sovereign to Israel.

...“Never in US history (click here) has any initiative regarding the Israeli-Arab conflict taken a serious turn on the eve of a possible re-election,” he said. Furthermore, Krayyem expressed his doubt that Israel has serious intentions of closing the Syrian file.
However, the Israeli daily Maariv recently quoted Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as saying Israel could not bear giving up the Golan Heights, while a poll showed 56 percent of the Israeli people were opposed to returning the plateau. The Israeli government has also decided to construct and ship houses for 9,000 new settlers in the Golan.
But regarding Lebanon, Krayyem said once negotiations do take effect, Syria is bound to comply with US demands.
“This will most probably mean a re-definition of the Syrian presence in Lebanon and a halt to Hizbullah’s activities, in order to ensure the survival of the Syrian regime,” he said.
“It is a matter of give and take, and if Syria receives guarantees that ensure the perpetuation of its regime, it will comply with US demands,” he added.
Syrian President Bashar Assad said last week that he wanted to resume negotiations with Israel via the United States, after they were dropped before the outbreak of the intifada in 2000.
But although it welcomed the initiative, Washington said it would not participate directly in them. According to Fadia Kiwan, Political Science lecturer at Universite Saint Joseph, “there is no doubt that there are unofficial talks being conducted at the moment.”...
It would seem to me if there was a peace accord previous to an election that would mean a great deal to the incumbent remaining the incumbent. Call me crazy, but, wouldn't the American people recognize the leadership involved in solving such a problem?
That aside. Israel needs to commit to peace before sending the USA on any faux mission to it's intentions.
Israel has to face the fact Iran is the only Shi'ite nation in the entire world. That means something. The Shi'ites have a right to exist, but, so does every other religious denomination and/or ethnicity in the world. The Shi'ites are exclusive to their right of a homeland. I thought that was already plainly obvious and I would expect Israel above all other nations to understand that, but, nuclear weapons are scary. More than scary in the Mideast because the nations are small and the outcomes devastating.
