Venice Beach, California.
Photographer states :: Several storms out in the Pacific were beginning to affect Northern California with heavy rain. These same storms were causing heavy surf all along the coast. A large west-northwest swell continued to affect the outer coastal waters of Southern California today. Breakers of 8 to 12 feet, with locally higher sets, pounded the coastline. In this photo Los Angeles City Fire Dept Bulldozers work quickly to build a burm of sand to protect the homes and businesses along Venice Beach.
