This is a no brainer. Hydrofracking or the same drilling by any other name is the "W"rong direction for the country.

Any assessment differently is completely WRONG.


The only PART of the molecule that is 'of any service' to the 'energy sector' is hydrogen.


The 'carbon' in methane when burned equates to still yet another molecule of CO2. 


Molecule for molecule when methane is burned it converts completely into carbon dioxide and a hydrogen EXPLOSION. 


It's the hydrogen 'the energy sector' is looking for.  It is dangerous, sincerely uncontainable in a real way and not the METHANE JOCKS want to make more billions by producing a 'Duel Fuel' vehicle whereby it would carry regular gasoline along side cylinders of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).

The entire idea that methane is THE BETTER fossil fuel is way out of line and it is about millionaires and billionaires and not the public, their transportation needs or any form of energy.


The issues with Earth's Climate Crisis comes from the consumerism that demands more use of electronic devices, more electricity, more travel, more automobiles and the population of the planet is skyrocketing.  Earth has a 'Carrying Capacity' and we have already exceeded it.


With each person born today they will face greater problems with obtaining healthy food, sufficient and not even abundant water supplies and basic human needs, yet alone recreation and leisure.  Although Leisure will be in abundance for the poverty the global community will face when production of products becomes so tight by the mechanisms of capitalism there is no way to make a living, there won't be healthy outlets for leisure time.  That leads to disasterous environmental damage as we know for a fact poverty does ALWAYS result in degradation of the climate, the soils and any water supply.  The best example of that is Ethiopia where drought captured the nation and drove it into famine.  So don't just judge my point of view as extremist, it isn't.  It is based in understanding FROM HISTORY how the planet works and what sustains it.


Methane is the "W"rong direction for the country and I don't care who says otherwise.  It is not extremism that brings that ASSESSMENT, but, practical knowledge that when methane is substituted for other fossil fuels it results in the same hostile climate by-produces that will escalate in the troposphere as populations grow without remitting changes in a benevolent climate.  


Suggesting that Methane is the answer to Global Warming is like saying arsenic is the answer for cancer.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bills necessary to avoid shutdowns of federal transportation and aviation programs are high on Congress' to-do list when it returns to work next week.

President Barack Obama says as many as 1 million jobs are at risk without action.

Both the White House and House Republicans signaled Wednesday that they want to avoid such a scenario, but that doesn't mean it will be easy.

Federal highway programs, and the fuel taxes that pay for them, will expire Sept. 30 unless Congress passes short-term extension legislation. It would be the eighth such stopgap effort in the past two years. Funds for hundreds of construction projects across the country would be held up without passage.

Similarly, authority for the Federal Aviation Administration expires Sept. 16. The agency has been operating under a series of 21 short-term extensions since 2007. A standoff between the House and Senate partially shut down the FAA for two weeks this summer. Nearly 4,000 employees were furloughed, more than 200 stop-work orders were issued for airport construction and other projects, and tens of thousands of workers in construction-related industries were laid off.

Layoffs in the ailing construction industry would be many times greater than that if highway programs expire, transportation experts said....

How many 'stop gap' measures have the Republicans passed in the House so far since January, I've lost count.


The Republicans are always 'signalling' they want to cooperate and avoid government shut downs, but, they just can't seem to get there.

Were his children ever on Food Stamps?  Seriously.  It is not unusual for Dead Beat Dads to rely on social programs for their children rather than the care and love of a parent.  Single Moms have it tough and they are resourceful when they have to be.  This Congress is more about character, ability and competency.  The House can't or won't get anything done.  Then Speaker Boner resorts to his rhetoric because he has nothing else to offer.  It is unfortunate the nation hasn't learned from previous mistakes.  

The Republicans in the House and Senate are treating President Obama as if this was a bar room brawl.

Since President Obama has been elected, the very palpable reality for the Republicans was that this guy knows what he is doing and we have to make him a one term President in any way we can.

The Republicans threw decorum, legislative procedure, decision making and the best interest of the public into a political cesspool and the country is hurting for it.  I have no doubt President Obama has a thick skin and simply takes this in stride as he has on many occasions in his life.  Little do I believe there is a minority individual that hasn't been confronted by racism of one form or another in their lifetimes, especially if they are successful.  But, being thick skinned and allowing compromise to dominate in Washington for the 'sake of the country' is wearing very thin.  


The longer the Republicans struggle with producing 'real policy' that matters the more they resort to disrespect of the President on every venue; from yelling defaming remarks during the State of the Union address to now refusing to show the ENTIRE NATION how concerned the federal government is about the jobs situation and coming together to have the President address the nation with all the legislators in the chamber.


Anyone can try to 'blame this away' on politics, but, it goes far beyond that.  This is the first time in history that a Speaker to the House has refused to hold a Joint Session of Congress on the day and time the President requested.  


I believe the President gives a great deal of thought to 'the morale of the country' and not politics.  He wanted to end the lack of faith by the citizens of their government after the hideous show of weakness by the House during the Nation's Debt Ceiling Debacle.  But, now that isn't going to happen, is it?  


Instead of showing a resolved and vigorous 'collective' of government in DC to bring about a sense of 'strength' and resolve to end the unemployment rate, we are AGAIN faced with a House and Republican Party insisting on dividing the nation, causing controversy, obstructing revenue generation at all costs to maintain their ideologies over and above what is best for the nation.

Minority House Leader Pelosi, as Speaker, may have made statements about Former President Bush that were political and intended to insult to push legislation along, but, never and I mean never was she as disrespectful and premeditatedly disrespectful as this House and the Republicans in the Senate.  The insistence by House and Senate members to calculate their next move to defame President Obama is more than obvious.


This is more than simple politics, no matter how vicious politics have been in the past.  This is an attack against 'the conscience' of a nation to teach everyone a lesson after the 2008 elections.   


It is grossly inappropriate and while the Republicans like to say they don't dislike the President but only his policies that sure doesn't seem the case.

There are many uses for consumer generated solar energy.

Consumers with Solar Panels need to demand their local and state governments adopt regulations for public utilities that pay them for power generation.

Under this scheme energy suppliers have to (compulsory for big six suppliers) make regular payments to householders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electicity panels (PV) or wind turbines.   

Repayment of Consumer Debt flattens the Australian economy.

There is a questionable organization of a storm offshore of eastern North America in the Atlantic.  It is definately a vortex with water vapor content, but, will it become another named storm?

I know this is going to sound somewhat ludicrous, but, Irene's rain actually placed more water vapor in a hot troposphere which is now fueling these three tropospheric turbulence.  Irene laid the ground work for more to come.


Will TD13 have a follow up from the disturbance over Panama?  Maybe.


TD 13 will probably enter the USA Gulf Coast and move slightly north-west-west.  But, it might simply linger over the Gulf Coast until it is rained out, except, if the wind velocity picks up.  Inland at 60 mph could move it further inland and then toward the east. That might be wishful thinking because that much rain in one location will create very dire circumstances. 


I am a little surprised there isn't an evacuation order for this region right now.


It is a sad reality when on remembers the devastation following Katrina.  The hurricane names are interestingly close in the alphabet.  The "K" storm was just named in the Atlantic and this TD13, if named will begin with "L."  The effects of TD13 will be similar if not worse than Katrina VOID the wind and storm surge damage.  

Tropical Depression 13. This will probably help out with the smog problem from burning wetlands.

...Tropical storm warnings were issued from Mississippi to Texas including New Orleans. The National Hurricane Center said the system will dump 10 to 15 inches of rain over southern areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama through Sunday and as much as 20 inches in some spots.

In Alabama, Gov. Robert Bentley didn't declare an emergency but ordered state emergency management and other agencies to be ready to respond if needed.

Morning skies were overcast with spotty rain on the Alabama coast Friday, but workers were still putting boats in the water for the Labor Day weekend at Sportsman Marina in Orange Beach, Ala….

PLEASE CLOSE THE BEACHES.  This storm is far too to leave it to chance.

Tropical Depression  13 caused Pensacola Beach lifeguards to show up for duty two hours early Thursday to prepare for dangerous surf conditions stirred up by the tropical disturbance that's moving farther into the northwestern Gulf. Red-flag conditions mean swimmers are not allowed in the Gulf, but surfers are allowed as long as their surf boards are attached to them with a leash.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. employers stopped adding jobs in August, an alarming setback for an economy that has struggled to grow and might be at risk of another recession.

The government also reported that the unemployment rate remained at 9.1 percent. It was the weakest jobs report since September 2010.

Stocks tumbled on the news. The Dow Jones industrial average  sank 245 points soon after trading began.

A strike by 45,000 Verizon workers lowered the job totals. Those workers are now back on the job.

The weakness in employment was underscored by revisions to the jobs data for June and July. Collectively, those figures were lowered to show 58,000 fewer jobs added. The downward revisions were all in government jobs....

Looks as though President Obama once again drew the short straw when it comes to respect.

(CNN) -- The way I see it, House Speaker John Boehner's eloquent letter to President Obama requesting he push back his address really could have been summed up in two words-- screw you.

We're all adults here, right?

We can pretend security logistics -- Boehner's "reason" -- require more time; we can pretend getting everyone where they need to be with just a week's notice is a scheduling nightmare; we can certainly call out Obama for being transparent in his attempt to upstage Republicans in the first place by scheduling his address on the same day as a GOP debate….


Q:  Why is it I value a speech by the President more than the first day of football season when it means watching millionaires running around on a field owned by billionaires? 


A:  I put country first. 

Did the GOP candidates of any office ever give the impression they actually respected God's creation or was it just a SLOGAN?

Yes, indeed, the Wall Street MIND SPEAK at its best.

The Ontario government (click here) announced this week it will contribute $48-million to help Magna International develop technologies for electric vehicles. For its part, Magna will pitch in $430-million to the research and development effort, which is a sign that it’s probably a fairly safe bet. Case closed, the government has successfully created jobs and prevented global warming in one fell swoop, right?

Not so fast. If this was such a great investment, why isn’t it all being funded entirely with private capital? And would it still be profitable if there weren’t a host of other government subsidies for electric vehicles, such as the $5,000-$8,500 Ontario consumers receive for buying one?


They never asked that about the Space Program though.  


Good Governance sometimes requires INVESTMENT to change the face of a failed economy mired in Old World values.  But, for media services that like to inspire anger rather than confidence the 'speculation of nonsense' is more important.

The biggest problem with subsidizing green technologies is that the subsidy itself shows that people don’t want the product. If there was enough demand, companies could make a profit without the government’s help and would have no issues investing their own money….

That isn't true at all.  People in Western Nations have wanted a far greener government and private sector for CHOICES, but, they never got it.  It has to start somewhere.


If citizens in Canada and the USA were asked if they would prefer a Green Vehicle that runs on sunlight, wind sourced electricity or biofuels rather than fossil fuels, guess what they would say?  Then add the ACTUAL 'out of pocket' cost of fuel versus change; would there opinion change.  


If consumers were asked if they rather change to a greener economy for the sake of the future of their children, guess what the answer would be?

…And yesterday brought even more bad news for President Obama’s vision of a green economy. In May 2010, he touted a solar panel manufacturer in California that received $475-million in stimulus funds, as being a success story of his environmental strategy…

And that is what I always found GREAT about worshiping Wall Street, the fact the West has to surrender to China.

So the feds spent $300,000 to shave at most $150,000 off the net present value of Arlington's electric bills. Some 3,000 counties across the country received federal funds for the same kind of negative-return energy conservation "investments." This is the kind of "clean energy" program the administration wants to expand....


How much CO2 is NOT created?  I think the GOP has Green confused with the color of money not the planet.

Weary residents across the Northeast pulled soggy furniture and ruined possessions onto their front lawns as they cleaned up and surveyed the damage wrought by Hurricane Irene.

The mess of destroyed furniture on Paul Postma's front lawn looked like a yard sale gone wrong. Over the weekend, Postma had watched as more than two feet of water filled the bottom level of his home in Lincoln Park, N.J. On Wednesday, he was using bleach to wipe down the house's mud-soaked walls.

"None of this has value," he said. "At least not anymore."…

I tell you what, why don't we let Wall Street sent every standard on God's Green Earth and watch it all disappear.  Sound like a plan?

The U.S. Drought Monitor has released a new map of drought conditions across the nation, and it's not a pretty picture for Texas. About 80% of the state is currently experiencing exceptional drought.

See what looks like a bloody scab in the bottom center of the country? The brick-red color indicates exceptional drought. The brighter red is considered the not-quite-as-bad extreme drought. And the sunny yellow color? That's only severe drought.

Slightly more than 99% of the state is in severe drought or worse. Here's a closer view….

A wildfire that sparked in a wooded area forced panicked horse owners to turn their livestock loose as they evacuated the area in Oklahoma City yesterday.

Before being contained, the raging fire caused swathes of cedar trees to explode into flame as the wind-whipped blaze reached them in the North-East of the city.

Oklahoma City set a record for the number of days in a year with temperatures above 100 and the near unrelenting heat wave this summer meant conditions were ideal for grass fires….

I don't know why I hadn't paid attention to these jerks before, but, to advocate that INFANTS sitting in child restraints in care should be allowed to be exposed to second hand smoke by the driver and passenger when States such as South Carolina is trying to to the corner on that is hideous, lacks morality and is seriously a human rights violation.

This is the USA and we can't attempt to protect infants from lung disease.  This guy is a jerk, a big jerk.  He has no dignity and certainly has no sense of propriety.

According to the self righteous Chris Wallace this is a PARENTING ISSUE.  Really?  So a parent can actually decide to expose a child in a closed environment to secondary cigarette smoke.  You know something these jerks are truly idiots.  

Let's see if it were a unionized teacher that was smoking in the classroom the Chris Wallace would be up in arms.   

Right?  What a fool this idiot is, he can't even appreciate when a state legislator is trying to add decency to an infants list of abuses that can be sustained by uncaring parents.  Amazing.  An infant exposed to second hand smoke is a POLITICAL PAWN in the Right Wing Nut game.

Secondhand Smoke in Cars May Lead to Dangerous Levels of Contaminants For Children (click title to entry - thank you)

Boston, MA – Secondhand tobacco smoke (SHS) can have harmful effects on children. Some of the adverse health outcomes include a greater likelihood of ear infections, lower respiratory infections, sudden infant death syndrome and severity of asthma symptoms. It is estimated that 35% to 45% of children are regularly exposed to SHS from adults using tobacco in homes and cars. To date, there has been little research on SHS in cars.

In the first study to measure SHS in cars in real driving conditions, Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) researchers have shown that smoking in cars can produce unsafe levels of SHS. Even with the driver’s window slightly open, mean respirable suspended particles (RSP) concentrations hit levels rated “hazardous” by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In the study, concentrations of 272 µg/m³ were measured, with a peak level of 505 µg/m³. In comparison, the EPA’s air quality index rates concentrations of more than 40 µg/m³ as “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” such as children and the elderly, and more than 250 µg/m³ as “hazardous” for the general population. The results showed that smoking a single cigarette for just five minutes could produce potentially harmful RSP levels. Given the levels the researchers observed, SHS in cars poses a potentially serious threat to children’s health.

The authors hope that their findings will encourage renewed efforts to promote smoke-free environments for children both in cars and homes.
