How are the public school infrastructures holding up?

A single Air Force F-35A (click here) costs a whopping $148 million. One Marine Corps F-35B costs an unbelievable $251 million. A lone Navy F-35C costs a mind-boggling $337 million. Average the three models together, and a “generic” F-35 costs $178 million.

In all fairness there are the advocates for the spending on this junk. Shh, don't use the word propagandists, because, the truth is otherwise they might tout their credentials as 'good enough' justification for the propaganda.

When the story broke (click here) about the Joint Strike Fighter’s shortcomings as a dogfighter, the reaction among JSF advocates was swift and predictable. Most objected that the F-35’s poor performance is perfectly acceptable and even expected because that jet was never supposed to do air-to-air combat anyway. That claim does not hold up well to scrutiny and rather begs the question of why the Air Force staged the mock air battle between an F-35 and an F-16 in the first place. Probably because, as the Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Mark Welsh explained in December of 2013, “You have to have the F-35 to augment the F-22 to do the air superiority fight.” In other words, the USAF needs the F-35 to be a dogfighter....

On the Monday before Memorial Day...

When we separate the soldier from the war it is possible to create propaganda that supports illegal wars.

It is stated one percent of Americans protects the USA. There should be less and not more to deploy them into regions of combat where we don't belong. 

Jack Jacobs is a propagandist. He states if there were more Americans that served in the military, PTSD would not be such an issue in the American landscape. That is a complete lie. PTSD is not caused by society. It shows up while military personnel are in the society and have issues they didn't in battle. Having more people effected by PTSD is not the answer to not noticing it.

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter stated, "Security is like oxygen, you don't notice it until it is gone." This is a quote from Joseph Nye, (click here) a professor on international relations, writer, and political advisor. He’s a bit of a personal hero for all of the positive things he’s done to make the world a better place, and it was interesting to hear Taiwanese quote him this week....

Joseph Nye was a writer, not a soldier. I think those words apply more to "W"s administration than any war that could be fought. The freedoms removed from Americans has been completely hideous.

Osama bin Laden is dead and the war in Afghanistan is a civil war as are the conflicts in Iraq. The outbreak of anarchy in Syria in the manifestation of Daesh is a foregone conclusion a result of the illegal war of the USA into Iraq. And who is suffering the most in The West from the outbreak of anarchy in the form of Daesh? Mainland Europe is suffering because Daesh and the USA's illegal invasion into Iraq. Allies such as Turkey and Jordan have far more refugees as the result of Daesh's rise to prominence in the middle east.

The words "...the last full measure of devotion..." comes from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Does anyone want to explain how the USA Civil War relates at all to the mess the USA military is involved today?

Memorial Day is NOT about veterans. Politics takes advantage of the living when attending Memorial Day ceremonies. Propaganda and the loss of the focus on our dead.

Propagandists. That is who is speaking today on the Monday before Memorial Day 2016.

I should state the traditional Memorial Day is May 30th. This year is simply happenstance and nothing more. No one should confuse the issue with respect or the USA war dead.

From "Fortune" magazine, the news about cancer is nothing to worry about.

The death of Johnnie Cochran at the age of 67 was a surprise to everyone. According to his family the brain tumor that killed him was very rare. Ever since then cell phones have been investigated for causing brain tumors. I think people that disregard reasonable concern open themselves up for danger and in this case it is brain AND heart cancer. Why heart cancer? Because cell phones are frequently carried in left hand pockets in a shirt or inside a jacket.

I think Fortune magazine is irresponsible. They should publish the facts, but, with a tone that cancers are still a concern.

No one can simply look the other way when brain tumors AND heart cancer (not necessarily in the same person) are finding common factors in cell phones. Heart cancer was extremely rare.

For a start, (click here) while there were slight increases in some types of cancer in male rats in the study, Carroll points out that female rats were treated to the same signals—and there was no increase in their cancer rates. And a statistically significant increased incidence of brain cancer for male rats was only found for CDMA signals, not GSM.

That’s surprising because, while real-world GSM phones emit more radiation than CDMA phones, the experimental radiation exposure levels were held constant between parallel groups. And since the main difference between GSM and CDMA is their data standard, there should only be different impacts if DNA could be corrupted by binary code....

The study. Rodent are used for such studies for important reasons.

One of the developers (click here) of the highly-anticipated No Man's Sky says he has received death threats after confirming a six-week delay to the release date of his game.

Confirming last week's rumour, Hello Games developer Sean Murray wrote on the PlayStation Blog that "some key moments needed extra polish".

As a result, the space exploration game is releasing on August 9 on Playstation 4 and PC, rather than the original date of June 21.

"We understand that this news is disappointing," wrote Murray. "We hope you'll accept our sincere apology and I am humbly asking that you'll still look forward to exploring our universe despite the slight delay."

Following the announcement, Murray says he received death threats from gamers angry about the delay....

As the mystery deepens (click here) over the disappearance of Australian mining worker Rye Hunt, it turns out he's not the only person to vanish from an airport.

Hundreds go missing at airports around the world every year but most of those cases are resolved quickly with the subject found safe.

Usually the "lost" person ended up missing their flight or simply changed their plans without telling anyone and in the meantime their loved ones have called the cavalry.

A handful of others, however, disappear in more sinister circumstances. The most baffling is that of Lars Mittank, a 28-year-old tourist who disappeared in Bulgaria in 2014.

The investigation of Lars Mittank takes a very odd turn. What would make a man scale a fence with barbed wire?

...His friends were interviewed. (click here) They wanted to stay but he said it's ok and they should leave first.

There is no footage of him running into the woods but to the fence close to the woods and eye witnessess saw him climbing this fence (with barbwire)....

Munich - I've done it to the airport " (click here) - these are the last words heard Sandra Mittank of her son Lars . It is almost a year ago that the then 28 -year-old had called his mother by mobile phone from Bulgaria.

On July 8, 2014 , he wanted to fly back to Germany . But he got into any machine . Shortly before the start , he ran in panic without a cell phone and luggage out of the airport building , climbed over a two and a half meter high fence with barbed wire and disappeared into a densely vegetated terrain . Since Lars Mittank is gone....

Rye Hunt's personal effects were found. It doesn't seem like it was robbery. Foreign airports, including Rio de Janaeiro, have problems that seem occasional, but, on a global scale, is it?

Missing backpacker Rye Hunt (click here) argued with his friend about where they should go next on their world trip before he vanished from an airport in Rio de Janeiro, it has emerged.

The 25-year-old from Hobart has not been seen or heard from since getting in to a taxi at Galeão International Airport on May 21 after rowing with Mitchell Sheppard over their next destination.

Mr Hunt wanted to go to Bolivia but his friend was less interested and the pair exchanged 'heated' words before deciding to split up to cool off, his sister revealed on Monday.

They arranged to meet up again after 30 minutes but Mr Hunt never appeared, having fled the airport in a taxi at around 2.30pm.

Police in the Brazilian city have found the backpack he was carrying when he left the airport but refused to tell his distraught family where it was discovered....

They are all about the same age. I find that fact really odd. How does someone age 25 to 30 simply disappear?

Sierra Shields was a flight attendant for United Airlines and Delta Airlines who mysteriously vanished from New York's La Guardia Airport on January 14 this year.

Governor Gary Johnson remains the best hope for the Libertarian Party.

Gary Johnson as its presidential candidate Sunday, believing he can challenge presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton because of their poor showing in popularity polls.

Johnson, 63, won the nomination on the second ballot at the party's convention in Orlando, Florida, defeating Austin Petersen, the founder of The Libertarian Republic magazine; and anti-computer virus company founder John McAfee. The delegates selected former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld to be his vice presidential running mate....           

How is the boy doing?

Cincinnati - A 4-year-old boy (click here) was hospitalized with serious injuries and a gorilla was shot dead after officials said the boy climbed through a railing and fell into a moat at the Cincinnati Zoo's gorilla enclosure.
A 17-year-old, 400-pound male lowland gorilla, Harambe, was shot and killed by the zoo's dangerous animal response team about 10 minutes after the boy made it into the enclosure.
Zoo director Thayne Maynard said that the boy crawled through the railing and fell into the moat just before 4 p.m. Saturday. A Cincinnati fire department incident report says that the gorilla "was violently dragging and throwing the child" when they were called.
The child was in between the gorilla's legs when the gorilla was shot, fire officials said....

Gorillas are extremely strong. Harambe obviously identified the child as a young one that needed his protection. I don't believe for one minute Harambe was going to kill or maim the little boy, but, he wasn't a good baby sitter and the child had already been injured from his fall and from the rough handling of the boy.

The zoo's personnel did the right thing. The real question is why was this necessary at all. It is unfortunate such problems occur at zoos. These are wild animals. These odd occurrences are simply because wild animals come in contact with vulnerabilities no one realized existed. The zoo has been in existence for a long time. This was one of those dangers no one realized existed.

What’s one of the first things you notice about gorillas? (click here) Probably their great size. These are the largest living primates (a group that includes monkeys, apes, and humans). A fully-grown male gorilla weighs up to 400 pounds and measures about 5 ½ feet tall. Females are just a bit shorter (about five feet) but weigh considerably less (about 200 pounds).

Despite their formidable size, gorillas are gentle animals. In fact, thousands of tourists in Africa every year walk safely within a few yards of wild gorillas. These apes are aggressive only when fighting over females or protecting their family from predators and hunters....

The child is as much a teacher in this instance as a victim, but, it was an extremely dangerous way to learn of vulnerabilities to both a boy and a rare gorilla. It raises many questions, including whether wild animals belong in zoos at all. Harambe was a day or so away from being 14 years old. I doubt he would have achieved that age in the wild. That is the reality of these animals. They are hunted by poachers and with that understanding comes praise of zoos that take on the challenge of protecting them.

Zoos and zoo keepers have to find ways to insure visitors are safe no matter their age. Zoos are the place where people come to learn about the larger world where we all live. It is important they and the animals are safe.

Memorial Day it is correct to pause and recognize the sacrifice. The issue is the USA doesn't function to recognize Memorial Day on Memorial Day.

The "Uniform Monday Holiday Act" was enacted in 1917. That law even proposed to have July 4th celebrated on the first Monday in July. The rational of the law was to improve the economy. Well. At least holidays were good for something. I wonder what the American Christians would say if we celebrated Christmas on the last Monday of December?

...Every 2.1 years (click here) the planet passes Earth, but it isn’t always very bright. Because its orbit is rather elliptical, it varies considerably in how close it comes. To get the general public’s attention, it needs to stand out, and this year is one of those times.

   Before we go any further, note that this is nothing to worry about. Mars is only close astronomically-speaking. It is still more than 46.7 million miles away on May 30. It can get as close as approximately 35 million miles, and that’s still no reason to duck. I mention this because of some fanatical emails that have been passed around in recent years spelling and conjuring thoughts best left for science fiction.

   We are probably more educated about our nearest planetary neighbor than ever thanks to the astounding success of recent Mars landers and orbiting spacecraft sent by NASA as well as other nations’ space programs. The discovery of thousands of planets orbiting other stars in recent years, all the while homing in on possible earth-like worlds makes it all the more exciting....

So much for sentencing reform.

A judge that has made up his mind before he has heard the facts put before the court by a defendant's attorney is nothing short of corrupt.

A Las Vegas judge (click here) this week ordered a deputy public defender to be placed in handcuffs and seated next to inmates in court, saying he wanted to teach her "a lesson" about courtroom etiquette. But legal experts say it's the judge who may actually need a lesson in decorum.
On Monday, an irritated Justice of the Peace Conrad Hafen told Clark County Deputy Public Defender Zohra Bakhtary to "be quiet" as she tried to defend her client and keep him from serving a six-month jail sentence for violating probation, the Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported. As Bakhtary continued speak out in defense of her client, Hafen exploded and ordered a marshal to place Bakhtary in handcuffs and seat her in the jury box next to inmates....

Sentencing reform has occurred under President Obama with the assistance of his Attorney Generals. There is going to be an undertone of politics throughout the Judicial System simply because there are elected individuals to the criminal justice system. I would imagine there are going to be far more referrals to the Lawyers' Associations in the country for ethics violations.

Justice Conrad Hafen is a good place to start.

A note to the Sanders' campaign:

People most dedicated to an outcome (this time it is electing Bernie Sanders to the Presidency) can find fault with the details because a prejudice is suspected. Sooner or later, the results of the nomination process has to come to pass. After the nomination process both candidates have stated they will work for the best outcome FOR THE PEOPLE.

Both candidates are extremely wonderful people dedicated to a life of service to this country. Each campaign wants to win and are just as dedicated to their own outcome. There is nothing wrong with that.

What is wrong is if the process to a candidate violates the spirit of the nomination process it can destroy the campaign to win. If either campaign believes there is injustice a complaint should be filed, however, it is the people that are the best judge. I suggest one or both campaigns should have a person with a video recorder and a webpage, perhaps on the candidate's website, that tells the story of the rules committee and the impact of those rules within the nominating process.

The complaints against each other and the DNC can be stacked to the ceiling, but, the process does not have to nor should it take place behind closed doors. So, the best process is a transparent process and there are ways a video recorder can bring the facts to the people. Trust the people with any suspicions and worries.

Each candidate has a great opportunity to serve in the Presidency and I know how their campaigns treasure them. The people know how important it is, too. Trust the people as a jury of injustice.

Mr. Trump has his own convention dilemma to investigate and resolve.

...So that’s how it normally works, (click here) but this isn’t a normal election. We’ve already heard some rumors of back room dealings going on by the GOP establishment. So here’s how Trump could still lose according to a variety of election law experts with whom we spoke. The delegates could vote to change the convention rules even BEFORE the first round of balloting takes place. That’s right, in the days leading up to the convention, the RNC Rules Committee could recommend rules changes to the Convention Rules Committee. That committee could tweak the recommendations but they they would ultimately have to send the new rules to the floor of the convention for a vote by the delegates. If the delegates vote to change the rules so as to ‘unbind’ themselves, then they could vote for whoever they wanted even in that first round.

“The delegates ultimately have the final say in the rules that will govern the convention. That may mean that they opt to unbind themselves, but a majority of them would have to agree to that,” Josh Putnam, an expert in this matter, and lecturer at the University of Georgia told LawNewz.com....

The Sanders' campaign...

...has received unprecedented concessions from the Democratic Party. That is a great victory. But, to state Governor Dan Malloy and Congressman Barnie Frank need to be removed because of FEAR they will not be fair is outrageous. These men are two of the most loyal Democrats and would never jeopardize any process with corrupt values or prejudice. It is important they maintain their positions. It is also important the national convention go forward smoothly. Viewers will be judging the candidates based on the organization of the nominee process and presentation of the nominee for President of the United States of America.

I find the Sanders' campaign insecure to the outcome of the convention because they want to stack the deck. 

That's enough.

This year is a turning point for the USA. We need to respect our Constitution and each other. "We got this thing, okay?"

The demonstrators in California need to be respected. They should realize Mr. Trump is no longer on the premise to witness their protest. The media is there and have recognized them. But, please respect protesters. "Occupy" was an illegal demonstration as well, but, they were respected for the same reason these protesters should be respected; they are hurting. 

This is a very difficult year for politics, but, we'll make it through. Police are doing a good job to protect the building and that is important, too. We all need space to gather. The police should not be injured either.

There is a lot that has been going on with the Trump campaign this week. He achieved his nomination and there has been issues within the campaign hierarchy itself.

I think Mr. Manafort was a good addition for the Trump campaign. He brought dignity with him and the press appreciated it. 

But, this Wiley think is rather curious. What I find odd is that he wanted to start up a campaign from anew. Within that anew is the absence of Nevada. What gives with Nevada? IS somebody is tampering with the convention somewhere. Wiley was what's his name's campaign manager....Scott Walker. I wouldn't consider him trustworthy and evidently he has some very odd priorities.

We value our democracy and that demands respect for everyone involved. I sincerely don't want respect for each other to fall apart. We can do this. We can carry out a magnificent election year. Everyone is being heard and to that end every candidate needs to recognize the pain the demonstrators are carrying out in the public square. Recognition of their pain by a political leader is vital. 

Every person is important and they will be heard, respected and recognized.

Flint records haven't come yet. I'll start making phone calls Monday. 

I congratulate Great Britain for saving the lives of three wonderful children and their benevolent futures.

...Midlands, failed to tell authorities her husband Sajid Aslam, 34, was about to leave for Syria. Ayman Shaukat, 28, was also convicted of preparing terrorist acts by helping Aslam and Muslim convert Alex Nash, 22, on their way.
Nash's wife Kerry Thomason, 24, was pregnant when she was stopped from flying out with her two children to join her husband in Syria.
Sentencing at the Old Bailey, Judge Charles Wide described Moore as a "very strong character" and said she "knew perfectly well of your husband's dedication to terrorism".
"One of the troubling things about you is your facility for telling lies," he added.
He said Moore had told "lie after lie" to the jury during her trial and that some of her evidence was "nonsense".
She was sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment.

I hope in two and a half years Lorna Moore will appreciate life and the future of her children differently.

The religious extremists of Daesh do not value life, frequently that means their own. They are being recruited not for their advantage in improving their quality of life, but rather, to pursue a future of service, sacrifice and death. The children within Daesh's control become child soldiers. The girls are known to be bearing children at a young age. 

This is not about life and longevity, it is about death and ending as many lives as possible. There is no benevolence in their hearts or minds.

Great Britain may want to realize there is an outpost belonging to Daesh in Libya as well. They are performing executions there. They stood on the sands of the Mediterranean Sea executing innocent people to threaten Europe.

The Muslims joining Daesh are fools for a false narrative. Daesh is composed of criminals not holy men. The people joining Daesh become criminals themselves which provides them with more reason to fools to protect the old Ba'athists.

It is amazing to realize men leave countries anchored in domestic peace to enter a profession of killing and cruelty. No matter how seductive Daesh may seem in their recruitment campaigns, the product they offer is murder. That is what the recruits of Daesh are 'opting in' for, murder. Obviously, it has nothing to do with their upbringing. They were supported by a peaceful country to live making everyday better than the next. It is complete estrangement of their lifelong values. 

It is about them, not us.

The USA never turned it's back on Japan after the war. We assisted Japan back to an economy that mirrored ours because of the Japanese culture. Not every country is the same or as willing.

The USA never exploited it's conquest with such deadly force. We turned to Japan with our horror in full view and became partners in the future. How many other countries would have done the same?

It could be said Lehava is the MORAL equivalent to extremist Muslims seeking to kill anyone it decides is adverse to their particular kind of religion.

Citing concerns for the future of Israeli democracy and society, (click here) the Anti-Defamation League has urged the government to clamp down on Lehava, a radical anti-assimilation organization, and its leader Bentzi Gopstein.

In a letter sent this week to Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit and obtained by Haaretz, the U.S.-based ADL warned that Israel’s continued tolerance of Lehava’s “hateful discourse,” while detrimental to Israeli society, was also “used as a weapon by Israel’s enemies, who use it as a basis for their rushed conclusions and generalizations about Israeli society.”

The letter, signed by Carol Nuriel, executive director of the ADL office in Israel, refrained from recommending specific measures against the far-right organization, which is both vehemently anti-Arab and anti-Christian. “We call on you to act by whatever means the law allows to draw a clear red line before this phenomenon that is so dangerous to Israel’s society and democracy,” wrote Nuriel....

Lehava is a hate organization in Israel. They hate Christians and do not recognize any relationship with non-Jewish. It doesn't matter the relationship, business, academics or social; non-Jewish are to be eliminated from contact.

Hiroshima--Barack Obama (click here) on Friday paid tribute to the 140,000 people killed by the world's first atomic bomb attack and sought to bring global attention to his unfulfilled vision of a world without nuclear weapons, as he became the first sitting U.S. president to visit Hiroshima.

"Death fell from the sky and the world was changed," Obama said, after laying a wreath, closing his eyes and briefly bowing his head before an arched monument in Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park that honors those killed on Aug. 6, 1945, when U.S. forces dropped the bomb that ushered in the nuclear age. The bombing, Obama said, "demonstrated that mankind possessed the means to destroy itself."

Obama did not apologize, instead offering, in a carefully choreographed display, a simple reflection on the horrors of war and his hope the horror of Hiroshima could spark a "moral awakening." As he and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stood near an iconic bombed-out domed building, Obama acknowledged the devastating toll of war and urged the world to do better.

The dissipating water vapor with both systems indicates the resolution of heat. There is always a chance there will be increased water vapor content with the sun rise and moving through the day. I doubt both systems will return to the status of yesterday.

The 12 hour loop will show the dissipation of heat while severe weather occurred in the USA last night. While tornadoes and hurricanes reduce heat, they are extreme measures in Earth's physics. Rain also cools Earth and the severe rain storms in Texas delivered significant cooling to the country's heat.

Current Temperature May 27, 2016

The current temperatures across the country is markedly different today. The west is somewhat different, but, the drastic change is the eastern half of the country where the severe weather existed.

The wind chill of the map below shows a significantly different change in temperature (F) Fahrenheit in the eastern USA. Some places is it 20 degrees cooler with the occasional 30 degree drop. Earth's physics works, but, under the high levels of CO2 the physics are extremely dangerous, takes lives and destroys infrastructure. 

The USA government was told about this exact change in Earth's physics, predicted the deaths and the destroyed infrastructure and the cost of such sincere concerns. Congress denied the facts and we are all stuck with day to day, moment to moment dangers.
