Sort of reminds me about the Minerals Management Scandal where the department partied hardy with the petroleum industry.


I don't really care if they hired legal prostitutes, that isn't even the question, it is what they told the women during pillow talk that matters. 


It is completely inappropriate for a security detail of the President of the United States of America to be involved with citizens of a foreign country.  It is why out of line and borders on dangerous and treasonous depending what was said and done.


Wine, women and song. It matters what they were singing. I never thought there was a good enough investigation into the petroleum industry and their parties either. It is one thing to fire employees that don't care about the country and it's security, it is quite another thing to continue to allow those sponsoring the parties to continue to own and operate petroleum leases, including natural gas, in the country at all. They should have been barred from engaging in any more lease auctions and should have had their current leases recalled, along with federal prosecution for bribery and treason.


The business of the USA is not a playground for the plutocrats and/or playboys. Slap 'em on the wrist and send them on their way to greater aspirations when the GOP is back in the saddle again.

The Pentagon investigates 10 military personnel in an inquiry into whether an advance security team for Obama's visit hired prostitutes.

...The Pentagon investigation (click title to entry - thank you)  is focusing on five Army Special Forces soldiers, two Marines, two Navy personnel and one member of the Air Force, a U.S. military official said.

The Navy and Air Force personnel belong to an explosives detection unit, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

At least five of the 10 were being flown back to the U.S. on Monday. A U.S. colonel was en route to Cartagena, Colombia, to supervise the Pentagon portion of the investigation into an incident that has embarrassed the White House, the Secret Service and the Pentagon....

There is a profound lack of dedication to the country by people that disregard its national security. They should never be allowed anywhere near the country's security apparatus again. Why aren't there people being employed in these areas that actually give a damn about themselves and the country they serve and treats them well? I know plenty of young people in the 99 percent that would love the job beyond any imagination of losing the trust of the nation for being this stupid.

War is over in Afghanistan. Taliban show of strength or they ran out of ammunition.

Spring Offensive. Maybe demonstrations might work better.

Spring Offensive. Does that mean winter hibernation is over? It happens once year? Why spring? Simply because the uniform requirement is cheaper? Is there a name for this species of Taliban?


If this is an annual event every Spring then I strongly suggest the Afghan military go into their lair in the winter while they are stationary, secluded and without winter boots so they can be captured and caged before Spring time. It is the only way to avoid an invasion of animals when the weather permits aggressive mating rituals.


This sort of behavior is noted in other animals, such as the Lion. A pride of lions can be well cared for within its own dynamics, but, males will invade and attempt to kill other males to gain dominance. So this isn't knew, but, I think there needs to be a change in the way it is handled. Humans can usually identify the animals that seek to kill and thwart their approach. Then once they are captured and caged, they won't be organizing any more attacks on prisons. The Most Wanted List is accurate! 

KABUL, Afghanistan and NEW DELHI, India -- Fighting ended (click title to entry - thank you) Monday morning some 18 hours after the Taliban launched a coordinated attack on Western embassies, NATO headquarters and Afghan government facilities in the capital Kabul and three eastern provinces.

The attacks, marked by extensive gunfire, explosions and rocket attacks and among the most serious to hit the capital since the Taliban was driven from power in 2001, saw eight Afghan security personnel and three civilians killed, Interior Minister Besmillah Mohammadi said Monday.

Afghan officials also added that at least 36 insurgents were killed and more than a dozen wounded or captured.

Soon after daybreak Monday, security forces managed to flush out insurgents holed up near embassies in Kabul’s heavily guarded Akbar Khan diplomatic neighborhood. The Taliban has taken credit for the protracted assault and says it is part of a "spring offensive."...

This has been typical of the "Etch-a-Sketch" campaign of Romney. They cherry pick all their campaign focus.

I'll so far as to say the period Romney claims is a war on women occurred because women were replaced by men now in the marketplace. That validates the fact women are still struggling to achieve status in the USA marketplace. If women were unemployed in greater numbers than men at any point in USA history, it is because men were available and preferred over women as employees. And the Republicans only make that worse by removing choices in birth control to women. It is easy for Romney to 'pick and choose' facts to suit attacks on opponents, but, it is difficult for him to run on 'his entire picture' of polices and history in government.

...Gary Steinberg, (click title to entry - thank you) a spokesman for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, told Politifact in an email  that "between January 2009 and March 2012 men lost 57,000 jobs, while women lost 683,000 jobs. This is the reverse of the recession period of December 2007-June 2009 (with an overlap of six months) which saw men lose 5,355,000 jobs and women lose 2,124,000 jobs."


If the Romney campaign had begun its calculation in 2007, Politifact noted, women would have accounted for less than 40% of the total jobs lost....

When I said I was moving I sincerely meant it.

The Taliban are at war with their governments.

They are reconstituting their numbers. This prison breach is not about humanitarian relief for prisoners. This is about building strength in numbers.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- Pakistani Taliban militants stormed a prison in northwest Pakistan early Sunday and freed 390 prisoners, including 20 militants, local officials said.

The attack occurred at about 2:30 a.m. at a prison in Bannu, a town considered the gateway to North Waziristan, a tribal region along the Afghan border that has long been a stronghold for Taliban insurgents and several other militant groups. Local police officials said as many as 200 Taliban militants drove up in pickups, lobbing hand grenades to break through the jail’s main gate.

Once inside, a two-hour firefight broke out between the attackers and roughly 30 jail guards. The militants began freeing prisoners  after the guards ran out of ammunition, officials said. No one was seriously injured or killed in the attack....


The Taliban will never out number the amount of military a government has, but, they will seek to undermine infrastructure. They are able to make attacks with tanks and overwhelming military strength, but, they will seek to destroy infrastructure in hopes an accumulation of destruction will be 'enough' to destabilize the people and therefore their government.


It can work. If there enough demoralization of the people and their infrastructure there can be a tipping point, especially with poverty. By this attack on the prison they are well armed with small arms and explosives. The donkey militia still has its strength within its impoverished populous. Poverty is enforced with the people because it works.


Poverty creates stress and instability. Its chronic effects are known on human health and it has strong emotional impact, so it doesn't take much 'more stress' to cause a change in alliance to a government/authority.  The strength of poverty within Pakistan and Afghanistan translates well with misused and misdirected Islamic dogma. The people of Pakistan and Afghanistan have their own faith used against them.  That misdirection is enforced with the threat of death.  There is no benevolence.  There is no hope, there is simply oppression.

Water vapor is climate. 


Where there is 'enough' of it there will be turbulence. 


Water vapor changes 'state' in a very short temperature range. By 'state' I mean it goes from solid to liquid to vapor/gas within 100 degree celcius. Water vapor is life and it delivers rain. Under a normal troposphere the occurrences of water vapor is a benevolent entity. Now, it is mostly absent from climate. When it accumulates 'enough' to 'carry' heat there is danger. Storms are mostly dangerous these days. It is the condition of Earth. It is its physics. It is a dangerous climate. 


There was a report of nearly 77 or more tornadoes in this system. That is becoming the norm more than not. This is a climate crisis.

The highest turbulence is over the drier areas because parched land stores heat. There is no rain or overland flow to cool it. Tornadoes don't decrease parched land. They simply manifest due to high heat and 'enough' water vapor.  They achieve no purpose to make the land more benevolent, they manifest as a 'high heat storm.'  

The real cost of 2008 is more than corruption in the banking system, it is actual lives.

It seems fairly obvious Europe needs to rethink austerity programs. It is not working and they are losing their countries' brain trust.

The USA has a great deal to be thankful for in the leadership of President Obama. He rescued us and upheld the dignity of the American people. He is a hero in every way.

It doesn't end there. The violence against women has increased as well. I can't help but wonder if 'friends networks' that are globally connected help some people 'problem solve.'

Wave of internal migration as 19,000 women are forced from homes by domestic violence while forty per cent of groups working with abuse victims have cut staff or services in past year.

The number of women and children across Britain being forced out of their homes by violent relationships is revealed for the first time today, raising fresh fears about the impact of council funding cuts on local refuges.

Almost 19,000 women aged between 15 and 88 sought state help to find emergency housing in 2008-09, showing the previously hidden scale of domestic-violence "migrants" forced out of their homes. Sixty per cent, or 11,300 victims, found shelter at a women's refuge – many of which are overstretched and facing unprecedented cuts.

A separate study, also being presented today, reveals for the first time the true level of cuts to frontline services for domestic-violence victims. Two-fifths of organisations working with victims of sexual and domestic abuse have laid off staff in the last 12 months, while 28 per cent have cut essential services such as outreach and children's workers to keep refuge beds open....

I have been watching this troposphere for the last half day or so.

Noted the continued 'regrouping' of upper tropospheric turbulence is over droughted areas. The initial turbulence as it was injected with a strong heat system and formed the hammer shape (which is not an unusual shape by the way, it just happened on Friday the 13th. It is however, unusual to be over a continent. It often happens over ocean.) air mass was basically near droughted areas. It is moved east and the new system of turbulence is finding its voricity over droughted areas. I believe this is the case because it secures a heat pattern that allows the consolidation of a heat system with water vapor. I would not be surprised this pattern continues.

If one recalls, last year, when Irene carried a huge water vapor component into the lower troposphere we then saw subsequent storms form with the lingering water vapor and evaporating water from the hurricane rains. This seems to be having a bit of the same pattern. The initial injection from the trops provided yesterdays turbulence and with that still lingering in the lower troposphere a new system has sparked.

In the 12 hour loop it is easy to discern the 'transition' of the water vapor component from the eastern system to the western system. 

The 'transition' occurs at 1430:00z, but, isn't visibly discernable until an hour later.

In this satellite photo the transition of 'water vapor' is noted to be dissipating in the east air mass and beginning to be accumulated in the western air mass.

Craigslist, Backpage, this is a larger issue. This isn't First Amendment, it is a crime.

Just because Craigslist reacted to pressure and now Backpage will probably do the same, doesn't mean the problem is solved. Where one webpage will shutdown the opportunity, another will be found. As distasteful as the idea is, this 'level of advertising' has to be regulated. There really is no other way and makes the merchant profiting from the ads as liable as the advertiser. Money talks, othewise, the entire community to end this criminal content will be chasing themselves forever in a circle. Either a moral society can impose their standards for treatment of children to protect them from crime or it can't.

On a late afternoon in early June, undercover police officers circled a one-story highway motel north of Washington. Inside was a 12-year-old girl who told her mother she was being forced to work as a prostitute.

According to her mother, the girl had started running away from home earlier this year. She found out her daughter was in the sex trade when she saw her in an adult online classified ad. The girl was advertising herself as a 24-year-old with a bogus name. The next time she ran away, her mother reported her missing....


An international effort can and should be mounted, but, guess what, the Third World doesn't have the monies available and now that the First World is in fiscal struggles those monies will not be forthcoming. The fact of the matter is human trafficking works as an income to many in the third world. It is a way of economy, including, ridding the family of a DEPENDENT.

...In a pair of columns, Mr. Kristof criticized the online classifieds site for maintaining an adult services section, which—like Craigslist’s before it—serves as a virtual agora for prostitutes and their handlers. The more recent piece, published March 17, included a first-person account from “Alissa,” who was sold into sex on Backpage.com starting at age 16.

“Nicholas D. Kristof was wrong about the most devastating ‘fact’ in his Sunday, March 18th, column in The New York Times,” the Village Voice wrote four days later. “According to Alissa’s court testimony, she was 16 in 2003. Backpage.com did not exist anywhere in America in 2003.”...

Unless there are supports to the Third World to facilitate a 'real economy' this will be impossible to stop. The ravages of the Third World have been profound including now the burden of the Climate Crisis that was never their problem in the first place. The human economy of the Third World is just as real as its starvation and drought. How is any country suppose to create a real economy for its people when it is chronically ravaged by First World sins?


Where is THAT morality written into the US Constitution, where Americans are required to address the problems they cause other nations in its consumer habits?

It is my opinion the efforts to save our country from racism is going to take more than Trayvon Martin.

The prejudice has been engrained in our society on many venues. Still today in entertainment for the Right Wing community, Black Men are the 'bad guys.'


What the gun culture has taught us in the USA is that where law enforcement is unavailable there are personal guns. The inner city is as dangerous as remote areas. The inner city has developed a gun culture whereby suburbia was always the place where safety existed.


With segregation obviously evident in the USA, the dynamics to moving the inner city to suburbia has been nearly impossible. So, if the Black Community of the USA wants to move out of the established gun culture of the inner city they have to set up their own segregated suburban communities.


Statistically, there is going to be more crime in neighborhoods with gun cultures and if that is the inner city then there will be criminals of color due to segregation. Segregation breeds this hatred and it is segregation that will foster it.


Crime exists. It is just a fact. The demographics follow incidence of a gun culture. With more guns on the street than ever before in the USA ,crime is going to be notable nearly anywhere. The issue is not skin color it is violence. It is violence at the end of a gun. Guns are not the law, unless a society deems them to be so and with laws now 'designed' to achieve that goal we are all entrapped in the stigma and it will grow like a cancer.


We will fear other now without exception. It is good for business.

TULSA, Okla. — In the wake of what locals are calling the Good Friday Shootings, dozens of worried residents from Tulsa's mostly black north side attended an NAACP meeting in the heart of their troubled neighborhood for some truth-telling.

Yes, they were relieved that two men had been arrested in the shootings that left three African Americans dead and two wounded.

They were pleased that the glare of the national spotlight was forcing local officials to work with black leaders. The mayor, local U.S. attorney and civil rights activist Jesse Jackson were present at the first funeral for one of the victims Friday at the north side's Crown Hill Chapel.

But those gathered at the meeting of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People noted that crime remained a serious problem. And just look at what else is happening in north Tulsa, they said. Shopping centers closing, schools folding and a cash-strapped city preparing to bulldoze three public parks, one named for a local black pioneer....

Former Senator John Edwards is being trounced by an ultra-Republican state government.

I always liked John as a Senator in North Carolina. He stood up for the average person and sought to protect children in his capacity in the Senate.

Infidelity is unbecoming, but, it isn't criminal.

I am leaving North Carolina after living there for 16 years. I don't believe it is safe under the direction of the current legislature. They are dismantling all the venues of safety for citizens including seeking justice through civil courts when a person is wrongfully effected by circumstances beyond their control and imposed by others.

In Emergency Rooms now physicians have no liability. Yet, we know there are sincere problems that do happen with ERs sometimes. The Republican presence in the state has become overwhelming to decent people and they are offensive in their assault against the moral content of the communities.

That is something the Republicans of North Carolina don't seem to understand. They don't understand that laws can be offensive to a person's conscience. They don't care, they believe a democracy can be used to be oppressive if good people simply because power is out of their reach. So, there are many kinds of moralities and immoralities. The immorality viciously attacking a former Senator is the most egregious of them.

I wish the former North Carolina Senator the best and his family including his youngest daughter and her mother. I wish them peace. I sincerely believe the persecution of John Edwards speaks more to the oppressive nature of the current political tone of the Republicans than is says about the capacity a democracy should have in vengeance of personal choices.

Cate Edwards, (click title to entry - thank you) the oldest daughter of John Edwards and his late wife, Elizabeth, is among the witnesses who may be called to testify in the criminal trial that could send her father to prison for up to 30 years. Her name appeared among a list of dozens of potential witnesses who could be called by the defense team.

A newly married graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law School,  Cate Edwards  recently put her own fledgling legal career on hold to launch an educational foundation in her mother’s name....

Looks like there is going to be some trouble. Hot and cold, when they meet all sorts of stuff happens.


The hammer-like appearance in the upper troposphere is due to a 'piling up' of air. The air came over the continent faster than it moved off into the Atlantic. There is a large air mass just offshore of North America and it is causing this to happen. 


These images are about an hour old. The system in over the Atlantic received a huge hot, wet air mass from the tropics and it is probably heading for the UK and Europe.


There is probably going to be some excitement over the next 24 hours in the USA.

Frequently low paid workers have exorbitant child care costs which could be their entire paycheck. So, unless there are fantastic benefits, child care is a disincentive to work and provides no relief from poverty.

Table 6 is about families. It divides the cost study by age of the child. In all these tables if the mother has dropped out of the work force and have no independent income they don't show up on these tables. So, families experiencing prohibitive child care costs to facilitate work don't even show up here.

In this table, for children under six years old, the over all expenditure for child care as of 2010 was 22.1% of the mother's income.


Depending on marital status of this group it can be 24.9%.


Depending on race of this children age group it can be as much as 25.7% of a mother's salary.


Depending on the education level of the mother it can be as much as 36.3% of the mother's salary.


Depending on the age of the mother it can be as much as 24.8% of her income.


Depending on the employment status of the mother it can be as much as 43% for self-employed women.


Depending on the monthly income of the mother it can cost as much as 54.6% of her monthly income.


If the family is poverty level the child care costs for under 5 years old is as much as 60.9% of her monthly income.


These are survival statistics. Women that have to work and have to support their families, like I used to do, pay considerable amounts for child care for their children. There were times when I had to pay as much as 50% of my after tax dollars for childcare with the rest being divided between food, medical, housing, clothing and toys. Toys were always on the  shopping list. They were going to have what their peers had and they weren't going to be deprived. I believe those values can be transmitted across the spectrum of women. Unfortunately, those values are sometimes truncated by poverty. I might add, paying up to 50% of a mother's income for child care prohibits upward movement and the ability to entertain home ownership.


These statistics impact THE WEALTH mothers can accumulate. It is a life long burden and retirement often depends on a good SSI monthly income if the mother was lucky enough to have an excellent paying job. It impacts the children when they go to college and there are few investments to pay for college and the student has to rely on loans and scholarships. 


Having to pay for child care in high levels of percentages of income have an extremely profound impact on the lives of mothers and their children for their lifetime.

The rise in unemployment is due to a stagnating consumer ability to participate.

That consumer is also global and is indicted in trade deficit. The cost of energy through traditional fossil fuels is incredibly expensive and ends up in the pockets of Wall Street and not in circulation in economies, including the USA.


Besides the cost of fossil fuels globally, Europe is still struggling under oppressive economic conditions. So, where the USA economy connects with the global economy there is a stagnant effect. 


The level of business transacted at the whole sale level hasn't changed and that is somewhat reassuring, but, that can change and probably will. The global trend started two months before we realized it two months ago. The global trend was discovered four months ago and it reached the USA two months later.


It ain't over yet.

Small businesses and strong local economies to the extent it can occur is the best option for Americans and acts as a buffer to these downturns.


Buy American and fight fossil fuel energy. THINK DOMESTIC and CLEAN and GREEN ENERGY. The cost of fossil fuels are set by Wall Street on a global basis. There is no amount of USA drilling that will effect the cost of fossil fuels. There is no capacity that can be achieved to reduce its costs. Morally, there is no capacity that should be achieved either, but, the physical ability to actually achieve that is not there. 

...Another government report says a key measure of inflation at the wholesale level stayed level in March. Outside the volatile areas of energy and food, prices in the overall economy rose three-tenths of a percent, which is a bit more than the previous month.

A separate report showed the U.S. trade deficit dropped to the lowest point in four months in February. The gap between what U.S. producers sell overseas and what Americans buy from foreign sources declined more than 12 percent for the month as the volume of oil imports dropped and orders for Chinese-made goods declined....

How does the uber-wealthy Romney pay so little in taxes?

What Romeny and his peer group did in accumulating wealth while saddling the USA's Middle Class with burden is immoral. It is not illegal, but, it is highly immoral.


He used the power of money to reduce his participation in supporting the governments at all levels of the USA. He has cost Americans their jobs while doing it. It is immoral. Just that simple. Why do Middle Class Americans carry a heavier burden for their governments than the wealthy do?


Bush’s tax cuts (click here) gave a 2-child family earning $1 million an extra $86,722 – or Harvard tuition, room, board, and an iMac G5 for both kids. A 2-child family earning $50,000 gets $2,050 -or 1/5 the cost of public college for one kid.

Mitt Romney has made his money on the back of the Middle Class by accumulating wealth at their expense. He has closed down businesses and exported jobs. Is there anything else we have to know about this candidate? There isn't anything else I need to know!

Representative Lieutenant Colonel Alan West states 78 to 81 Democratic Congressional members of the Progressive Caucus are communists.

I think Alan West's comments say more about the leadership in the USA military than it does about his political aspirations.


Alan West was a career military officer for 20 years and had several deployments in Iraq. As an Iraq Veteran of Officer status where does he get the view innumerable members of a governing body of the federal government are lined with communists? Where does that idiotic idea come from? I want to  know if those views stem from his years in the military?
