Washington - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., (click here) said Thursday that he looks forward to seeing what the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol finds in its probe.
“It was a horrendous event and I think what they are seeking to find out is something the public needs to know,” McConnell said in an interview with Spectrum News....

US Senator McConnell is absolutely correct, the US House is doing incredible and important work.
The dangerous part about Donald John Trump as president was that any power player, regardless of whom they were, including Vladimir Putin, was attaching themselves to him for their own purposes. Rick Perry is one of those people. Perry was Secretary of Energy and he is seeking the power attached to the name "Trump" and the gambit Trump was willing to play with the insurrection. Perhaps better said is the past tense of Perry's attempts to regain the high ground for the petroleum industry.
One thing about Mitch McConnell. regardless of all his many flaws, when it comes to protecting the US Constitution and the very basis of governance in the USA, he always does the right thing. He does the right thing, but, only when the emergence of wrong doing is ever present. He allows the poltics to roll out regardless of the wrongness and danger of the content of those politics.
Donald John Trump is a magnet to all those that covet the USA presidency. Trump was not a president in the interest of the people, he was a president to undo the Rule of Law of the USA and took every opportunity to do that. Why would he do such a thing? Because there is a profound mental health issue with Trump, he really believed he was the only one that could straighten things out. There is nothing to straighten out. The democracy of the United States of America is perfect and the strongest democracy ever in the history of the world as it demised it's own coup and destruction. The USA Constitution is continuing to prove that truth and freedom work and is worth fighting for to sustain.
The weakness of Trump's presidency showed within days of his occupation of the Oval Office. He might be a great father in recognizing the issues between two conflicting parties, but, as a president recognizing both sides of a conflict was toxic to our democracy and the Rule of Law.
I am more grateful to Liz Cheney than anyone can imagine. She not only brought the correct insight and leadership to the issues facing the country regarding Trump, but, she brought the "Cheney" name with her and she, like her Dad, is not afraid to use it.
Minority Leader McConnell is also bringing the power of his position to the reality of the findings of the January 6th Committee and I am grateful for it. He is doing the right thing and you won't convince me for one minute that his strength in leadership at this moment isn't influenced by Liz Cheney either. Minority Leader McConnell is able to garner his strength at this moment because US Representative Cheney is on the job.
The January 6th Committee is doing incredibly wonderful and important work and everyone, including the Cheney constituents should be grateful that the country is in the hands of the best of us in the US House.
"The Movement" attached to Trump needs to end. It is toxic to the country, to the country's politics and is bringing wealth to a man that would see this country ended for his dictatorship because he sincerely believes his dictatorship is best for the country. Get over it, America.
