Climate change lawsuits are intended as a tax on oil companies and consumers is a lie.
There is dearly nothing more toxic to the climate of Earth than the petroleum industry and attempting to put fear into consumers that their demand for alternative energies and the past polluting habits of petroleum is some kind of huge conspiracy theory is a lie. There is a strong moral content to all the people seeking to hold the petroleum industry responsible for the damage to Earth's climate when they knew full well it was very dangerous and deadly.

Mark Zuckerberg (click here) will be spending more time in D.C. after he paid $23 million in cash for a home in the tony Woodland Normanstone neighborhood, Politico reports.
Why it matters: The purchase indicates a heightened interest in D.C. from the private sector, with bigwig CEOs seeing a Beltway property as a "personal embassy" from which they can court the Trump administration, Politico's Michael Schaffer writes.

From Facebook
Meanwhile, the company has been on a massive hiring spree, poaching top talent from OpenAI and others with compensation packages reaching hundreds of millions.
Meta didn't have to do this.
They posted $62 billion in net profit in 2024.
Layoffs come with a massive cost.
They should be a LAST resort for companies.
For many people, especially those on visas, it’s not just a job loss.
It’s a life upheaval.
Layoffs like these are short-sighted.
Meta’s mission is to “build community and bring the world closer together.”
You don’t build community by cutting people loose.
You don’t bring the world closer together by laying off 600 people in one of the most profitable years in company history.

Putin
People have to stop taking every word Trump says as law. President Zelenskyy was a pawn to Trump’s propaganda volley. That is highly unethical contributing to an uncertain path.
Are the Ukrainian children returned yet? There is no success there either? Does any of this have validity or do the Trump’s like to appear to have the world on a leash?

Arrogance
There is a huge difference between governance and arrogance. The Trump administration does not govern, it has an arrogant attitude to cover up the fact they don’t know what they are doing.
The reason no one is stopping Hegseth from killing innocent people fishing in their sovereign waters is because the experienced leaders are gone. Those that are not gone have been insulted so they aren’t helpful so much as contained.
Pam Bondi is probably the best example of arrogant attitude as demonstrated at the Senate hearing. RFK, Jr. is no different.
Arrogance is the appearance of competency others simplify don’t understand. So, considered the Trump presidency is based on lies, no one needs to understand anything except the truth.
The arrogance of the Trump administration is getting the USA into a lot of trouble. The Congress needs to identify the trouble and act to close that gap of authority based in truth. Trump himself is such an arrogant man he boasts victory over Russia while the JCPOA expires and Iran is being empowered by Putin.
There are many problems being stirred up by Trump. It is time this administration finds remorse and brings military leadership back to the Pentagon.
More of the same (click here). Savaya delivered Michigan and now with Russia’s proxy Iran coming back into view, he is given the status of special envoy to Iraq.
It is all a lot of mischief without benevolent policies. Well. Syria is in play again. Or should I say, still.
Congress needs to stop blatant aggression
Colombia has been an ally of the USA and NATO for a very long time. It has waged anti-narcotic campaigns along side the USA. Strategically Colombia has acted as resistance to the Northern Triad. Colombia’s history is one of cooperation in maintaining near shore peace.
The killing of a fisherman was a mistake that needs to end with better legislated policies by the USA dealing with narcotic trafficking. The USA needs to mitigate the loss of this fisherman to his family. An apology to Colombia is in order.
The strike occurred in Colombia’s territorial waters. This had to have been a mistake. Such action would be obvious and should have been avoided. Diplomatic solutions would have been a reasonable action to resolve suspicions.

Kirk is still part of Republican propaganda?
It is all circumstantial evidence.
I doubt if the country knows who killed Kirk. The accused gunman currently charged with Kirk’s murder shows no viable method of carrying a single bolt gun on the stairs or exiting the grounds. A backpack will never hold a single shot bolt gun. A single shot bolt gun will never fold down that far to allow covert possession in a backpack.
False confessions for committing a murder occurs up to 25 percent (click here). We frequently hear how those investigating a murder are swamped with information to sort through. The Kirk murder is circumstantial.
Besides that, open discussion of murder can contaminate the jury pool. No one should be seeking a mistrial because of social media posts.
Single shot bolt guns are used a great deal during accuracy contests. Those guns are rarely used, even in hunting. But, they can be accurate if game animals are not elusive. It takes a while to set up an accurate shot.
Johnson is a fear monger.
I have given up on expecting a USA House Speaker from the Republican Party that actually cares about the country and the people.
Johnson was put into the speakership in the US house by Trump. Johnson shines up nice and looks like somebody who is reasonable and responsible. In fact, he is more of the deadly rhetoric we are seeing come out of the Republican Party that causes deaths among democratically elected officials.
Today Johnson is saying, there is a problem with the protests currently being conducted in the country in that they’re full of hateful rhetoric. He goes on to say there’s all sorts of violent messages coming out of the protest. What Johnson is saying today is remarkably similar to the statements by Ohio‘s Moreno, after the assassinations of Democratic lawmakers.
It is safe to say this is now the message of the Republican establishment. Anyone who chooses to have a voice in their democracy and protests to the high levels of violence practiced by the Trump administration is going to be stated to be rhetorically violent by Republican lawmakers. This is the Republican politics. This is the message they’re going to continue to deliver. Johnson is no more interested in calling the house back for votes in order to carry out governance, than Trump is. A sincerely interested president would be seeking to resolve the divide and not enhance it.
Today Johnson stands as an obstruction to a freely, elected woman that wants to go forward with votes that benefit the American people. He is freely obstructing her swearing in because it would mean the U.S. House is back to work to provide medical insurance for low income Americans.
Is obstructing the needed work for the American people hate? I believe it is. Johnson is continuing the message of hate as noted by Ohio’s Moreno and still today the very same statements about Americans asserting their First Amendment Rights.
The Republicans hate the American people and their demands for freedom and equity. The USA Constitution demands freedom and equal treatment under the law. Americans are not asking for much, they want to be heard, they want to be safe, and they want their health insurance intact for all the generations now in this country. Is there something unreasonable about any of that?

Johnson just doesn’t get it.
Johnson is whining and crying about a budget and how politics is the problem while Trump is out of control and attempting to silence the First Amendment rights of a free press. There is a lot wrong and it has absolutely nothing to do with politics. Politics is their excuse for everything. They are unwilling to see the forest for the trees.
The DOJ and Trump are ignoring judge’s orders as well as ignoring the statements of military leaders. This isn’t about politics. It really isn’t.
The President of Ukraine was told to come to
Washington to receive upgraded munitions and Trump says he is worried about the supply of missiles in our defense department. Now, Trump is going to pow-wow with Putin for what? If Ukraine were stronger than ever we might get somewhere.
Hegseth flew a B-52 bomber within 150
miles of Venezuela and the commander of the entire theater is resigning because of the radical tactics of the administration.
The Alaskan coastal plain is disappearing and Lambert Glacier is flooding Juneau again because it is collapsing because of the climate crisis.
Midwest farmers are very worried because of cancelled contracts with China. Their income is dwindling. This isn’t about a budget anymore. This is about the runaway train called Donald Trump and the sincere harm he is causing this country.
There is a reason Democrats are opposing the current budget. It is about loss of federal emoyeees and their ability to find work and take care of their families, including health care. That is not politics. Those are Americans now unemployed because they were lied to about private employment with a buyout package.
Republicans need to wake up to the sad state of affairs in this country. It has nothing to
do with politics.
The President of the United States of America cannot throw down the gauntlet in a 90 day window, be ignored for the brevity of it, and simply call it a day to discuss politics. That is not just a radical decision, it is down right stupid. No Democrats were involved!
Mr. Johnson, your military commanders are walking away as fast as they can. No Democrats were involved!
Congressional Republican aren’t very bright.
They keep pointing fingers at Democrats while Trump escalates military tensions in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. Then they look the other way while the American people are assaulted by their president. Either they are colluding with savagery of the White House or they are as lazy as the day is long.
“Nero fiddled while Rome burned.”
There is a lot wrong and the Republicans are stuck in a corner pointing fingers to attempt to protect what they believe are their politics.
Trump is harassing educational institutions and media outlets. Bondi isn’t even interested in the country so much as retribution politics. I thought Thune had a conscience. He doesn’t really seem to care about deteriorating situations. There are major military commanders turning their back on the wrong direction of the military and walking away and it means nothing to the Congressional Republicans? There is something really wrong when half the Congress appears to be content in being ignorant to facts and regarding politics as the challenge of the day. Republicans are drowning in their own delusion about the level of harm they are allowing.

The Voting Rights Act of 1964
(Click here) This is her exchange with the attorney. She is clear and magnificent.
Pastor assaulted by immigration enforcement?
This level of federal police brutality is exactly why Governor Pritzker opposed the invasion of troops of any kind.
This is way out of line. The man was praying and asking others to pray. What is there to be afraid of?
Come on, this isn’t us. The insight of Reverend David Black in this video is worth listening to in that the agents are feeling demoralized by their own actions.
Republicans are responsible for the government shutdown.
Speaker Johnson won’t open Congress because he is more interested in obstructing a free and fair election.
Sea level rise
The typhoon has caused permanent displacement of Americans.
The Mendenhall Glacier has failed. Massive flooding will result. Juneau is the Alaskan state capital.
This is just plain dangerous.
Flying a B-52 Stratofortress 150 miles off the coast of Venezuela is aggressive and dangerous. The act was definitely a threat.
Now, it may have been necessary if Venezuela has two Russian bombers loaded with nukes and sitting on the tarmac, but, without such actions to justify such an activity it was completely inappropriate and more than a message about drug cartels.
I would expect this activity to be discussed at the meeting in Budapest. Russia knows the USA has this capacity, so it is important there are measurable boundaries for safety guardrails.
Accidents happen and tragedy becomes wars. It maybe exactly what the communists are waiting for; a near border war with the USA.
This activity is reckless because it is unnecessary. The land based nukes of the USA are far more covert, a reason for China to float spy balloons over our sovereign land, and a constant threat to Venezuela than the B-52 could ever be. This activity is reckless and dangerous in an expression of open aggression. This is not about drug cartels. So, what the devil is Hegseth doing?
The USA is not muscle bound and never has been. I take it the Stratofortress was ready. Readiness is the height of success for any free world country. So?

Federalizing the National Guard
I believe the people of this magnificent country are confused about the Executive Branch power to use the military for domestic purposes. Title Ten is what Trump is using to justify the invasion of troops from the National Guard. The National Guard is not directly addressed by Title Ten (10). The National Guard is addressed under Title Thirty-two (32). Why? Because the command of the National Guard is a State’s Right power.
In order for Trump to replace the State’s Governor as commander he has to establish a reason for doing so. That is addressed by US Code under Title Ten, section 12406 (Click here). The military code is long and celebrated.
The judge isn’t saying the authority doesn’t exist, it is that in order to use that authority there are specific reasons. Trump has not established any reason to do so, hence, if he attempts to do so it would be a violation of the law. The judge is making it clear this is not a political issue, but, a legal one. She has ordered a trial as soon as can be established in a couple of weeks to bring this matter to conclusion.
Trump has declared a national emergency. The question is for what purpose? Trump’s presidential emergency declaration is the southern border (Click here). Trump reached back to 2018 in order to attempt to justify the new national emergency. The current order is not applicable to Oregon. Even with the statement that references the entire country, there is not necessarily the Undocumented flooding other states.
Hence, while the power of the Executive Branch unquestionably exists, it does not represent the domestic situation in Oregon where tranquility is obvious everywhere. The Oregon Governor does not want First Amendment confrontation to disturb the peace there.
Hegseth and the USA arsenal
Trump has issues with the communists. I am half waiting for a Russian sub to surface next to Hegseth’s anti-Venezuelan boats just to remind him what this is all about.
I think Donald Trump steals a lot of material from others’ ideas for political victory. However. I claim none of that. Seeking peace is a beautiful thing. There are issues with his approach to achieving those goals, especially highly questionable history with the countries and leaders involved. If the negotiations result in long term peace treaties, who am I to question.
There is a huge geopolitical divide globally and Trump is not making friends anywhere including Africa where it is speculated he is dumping the undocumented convicted of violent crime. I think African countries are being paid, but, the stigma as to why they were chosen as a drop off point is in question.
Is exporting our problems to troubled areas of the world a real solution?
I also need to bring attention to an odd phenomena. The mission of this blog, which has existed over two decades, is to seek environmental responsibility of global powers through advocacy while drawing attention to the real problem of war as a deterrent to that responsibility.
Below is the title and mission of the blog. It is my creation. It was inspired by a perfect stranger who asked if I would go to Google’s Blogger to carry my message to a larger audience.
My concern with Trump and his claimed peace treaties is the persistent support for the petroleum industry and the harmful heating of Earth’s oceans. The corals are toast as a carbon sink. The damage is global and simultaneously terrifying. This can’t continue. Greed is outweighing sincere peace to ensure the future for generations to come.
I have no contact with the Trump administration. I don’t see that changing. I hope the First Lady has been successful in her advocacy for the return of Ukraine’s children from Russia to their actual parents.
Peace.
“We are ready?” Really.
Here we go again. Last time Trump met Putin in Budapest there was actually no record made if it, no witnesses, and Trump was a complete sell out.
Now, Orban is in on it (Click here). Orban, as a president of a single country of the EU has too much power in decisions of European National Security. He is known to be Pro-Putin to the extent that it is detrimental. It should not be a concern at all.
President Zelenskyy is meeting in Washington about a stronger approach to the war being waged with Russia at the same time thus lack of transparency meeting is occurring in Budapest.
I do not appreciate removing military before retirement.
The way Trump is playing with power to reduce the federal budget is a real problem. It is a problem for the domestic economy, employment, and national security.
There are areas of efficiency of this federal government not reflected through debt reduction. In some instances it is just the opposite.
Quite frankly if Admiral Holsey wanted a new assignment considering the radical change in strategy in the Caribbean Sea I would not blame him. Obviously, there is a difference of opinion and who may carry the burden of homicide without proof. The darn stuff has to make it to the national waters of the country before the contraband can be taken and arrests made.
No officer that attended the meeting in Quantico Marine Base should be forced to relinquish opportunity for a military retirement. This sort of corporate structure for the federal government just does not work. The Republicans need to be called out on the assault on our democracy and its military. Congress is giving permission for this abuse of power.
