Why closer ties to Russia, because, The West is pushing Georgia's borders back. Poland is delusional if it believes the people of these two autonomous regions will accept a Polish president. Poland killed those people. I don't see negotiations happening either. Poland and NATO expects this to happen by magic?

Baku. Rufat Ahmadzada – APA. “Russia should withdraw its forces from Abkhazia and South Ossetia”, Spokesperson Jen Psaki, who drew attention to the “presidential elections”, said at a press conference, APA reports quoting the official website of the U.S. State Department.

“The United States does not recognize the legitimacy of these so-called presidential elections on August 24th and will not acknowledge their outcome. Our position on Abkhazia and South Ossetia remain clear: These regions are integral parts of Georgia. We once again urge Russia to fulfill all of its obligations under the 2008 ceasefire agreement, including withdrawal of its forces to pre-conflict positions, reversal of its recognition of the Georgian regions as independent states”, Psaki said.
