This company is aware of the fraud. I notified them. This is a fictious check.

The California company is real. It is an upstanding company with many employees. If this check was ever honored by a financial institution there is no doubt it would cause some degree of hardship. I doubt it would be disabling, but, the loss of nearly $100k would be an issue in any company's cash flow.

It was never clear to me that the incident was reported to the California State prosecutor or any other law enforcement. In my opinion it should be and now probably will get some attention. 

To be completely clear, this company is a victim of identity theft. I have another check and they are remarkably similar. As a matter of fact it was easy to recognize the second fictious check after first seeing this one. I makes me believe the person producing these checks are the same individual. 

I have a hunch. Nothing more than a hunch. I think it is a man and/or woman in New York City with a name of Gonzalez. I have no real facts to back that up, simply names within a friends list that seemed to make sense to me.

The account numbers on the check are not real. 

This is the envelope it came in. Very funny stuff. It came from a "fulfillment center."

That is the back of the envelope. 

Here again, the definition of terrorist is when a person or group use a civilization's infrastructure against them. They are completely using the business infrastructure against the country and citizens. This is an intelligence operation and it is a terrorist organization.

I want to get back to discussing Untied Nations and why it is such a terrible entity in the world.

American Senior Citizens and anyone else that becomes involved with this organized crime network is in for a lot of personal problems after their information is obtained. Let's start with these factious checks they produce. 

The checks can be deposited in any bank, credit union or financial institution. In some instances it is decided by Untied Nations that a separate dedicated account would be best. Why? Because they would have complete control over the movement of monies. Yes, that was movement of monies.

These checks have no value, so when they are processed by a financial institution they are treated as if a check with full face value. I am not sure why the financial institutions do this, but, it is probably due to the idea anything is possible with computerization including having money immediately even though the owner of the account just deposited a printed piece of paper called a check.

In my opinion financial institutions are like sheep over a cliff, if one does it they all do it, no different than landlords of apartments. The reason of course is competition for business and what the market will bear.

Electronic checks. These are slid into an account when the owner has relinquished the username and password. Along with the username and password Untied Nations and/or their operative has the account information and any other requirements such as security questions.

The electronic checks deposited conveniently to bank accounts these days are not necessarily held for processing. The electronic check, the ones everyone takes a picture of to deposit over the internet, will be deposited in it's entirety as a full cash deposit. Where these checks become actual cash has to happen within a short period of time after the electronic deposit is made and before the financial institution realizes the check is fraudulent.

So, the best way to turn a factious check into cash is to use the Check Card at an ATM and remove the cash before the bank is aware of the false status of the check. Once the cash is removed, there is no going back. The organization and/or operative has enough of a hold on the owner of the account that the cash can then  be deposited into a crypto ATM. Oh, yeah, crypto definitely enters the picture. But, remember up to the point where the cash is removed from the account there is no electronic footprint by the organization or it's operatives. The operatives are the ones that are acting as the love connection.

So, the damage is done and who indeed is responsible? The owner of the account. That means when the electronic check becomes a reality that it is false and has been acted on to receive cash, the owner of the account becomes liable for it. Now, in most instances this can be reported as identity theft and the financial institutions proceed to process it as such, but, there is no real way of finding the fraudulent person that produced it as they are in a far different place than the owner of the account.

Is it truly identity theft? The information was relinquished, right? It depends on how people look at it. An older adult that has become attached to someone else regardless of being a stranger and feels they have a sincere connection to them is responding to an emergency in that relationship. The operative or the organization has simply set the scene. So, the owner of the account isn't really expecting to have allowed identity theft. They were presented with a way to solve an emergency within the relationship. The owner of the account believes every aspect of the circumstances the operative presents. So, it sincerely is identity theft in that the owner of the account was conned into being cooperative.

The financial institutions are aware of these problems, but, treat them as a business cost and move on beyond the incident. The owner of the account, of course, feels as a fool perhaps, but, that is their problem to cope with and not that of the financial institution or the operative. The operative may very well be grateful for the monies received and relieved that the emergency is now addressed. In that is also justification for the false document in that the relationship is satisfied without any real consequences.

The dynamics of the fraud are very complicated. It isn't a matter of simply making this a crime and assigning senior citizens to prison. The entire interaction between operative, adult, and financial institutions is well groomed and highly effective. This is an intelligence operation of which the law cannot sincerely hold an innocent party responsible for. The senior citizen is already suffering financial losses in most cases.

The best defense against these fires is local control and local knowledge.

Professionals in these jobs can easily be required, if not already, to make a daily entry to an official log recording observation that may or may not be climate related. They are great people and very, very smart folks.

Laws and rules have to be in place to enforce, which is reliant upon a legislature and governor that cares about what is important. Climate can be as violent as the next tornado in New Jersey or as gradual as a drying area of trees or grass. The climate aspect of conservation should be somewhat second nature to the profession, but, may require fine tuning with additional educational events to existing officers. Once such an event is held, the immediate recognition of the problem will result in the classroom coming alive with information. They really are delightful folks with a lot to say if asked.

MICHIGAN (WLUC) - Wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, caregiver and friend. (click here) The women who serve in the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division are recognized by more than one of these terms, in addition to “officer.”

In 1897, Huldah Neal became the first state game warden, paving the career path forward for women. Neal, from Grand Traverse County, was the first female conservation officer in the United States, according to media reports.

Today, there are 21 women who serve at all ranks of the DNR Law Enforcement Division. Like their male counterparts, they have sworn under oath to protect the state’s natural resources, environment and the health and safety of the public through effective law enforcement and education....

When I go walking I always notice the scene around me. Day after day there may be different characteristics along the walk. Those minor changes can be a clue that climate is becoming unforgiving as it became in Hawaii.

For as long as I can remember I have always blogged that local authority and local economies are the strongest and most effective ways of people power. This is no different. 

There is rarely a town that doesn't have a local authority on the biotic content of the area. They won't be the most popular people because they will stand up to defend wildlife over the interests of petroleum companies. However, in circumstances like this minor changes in the biotic content of the area would have been invaluable to report and RECORD.

Sometimes the folks most reliable about nature will be avid gardeners or they might have the most beautiful flower beds of native plants. They might be the leadership of conservation specialists in clubs like Sierra or other local clubs.

Drought that leads to deadly wildfires can be over a decade or more of time in the making, but, in the case of Hawaii there was a change in the climate beginning last year when a drought was found to occur in November, 2022 (click here). This devastation occurred in less than a year. It is completely out of character for drought. 

The best way to realize the climate has had devastating effects on the land is observation. Local folks will clamor to defend the land if there is any indication that development or changes to the land by human beings intent on building stuff or cutting down forests will occur. Those local people know the land and know what DISRUPTION will do in the way of harming the natural world.

The bottom line is that society at a local level MUST listen to the concern. Those that love the natural world, know what they are looking at. They are bird watchers that know if trees are cut down their favorite sites and sounds will disappear besides the beauty of the trees.

People have to pay attention. When their lawns dry out they water them to bring back the beauty, but, it needs to go beyond watering cans or sprinklers. When there are dry lawns and struggling bushes and trees, one has to ask why. 

At one time in the USA there were bountiful numbers of agricultural agents at the county level. There were also conservation officers. Somehow, state and federal governments found it better to cut the budget and say they have cut taxes than realize the intense value of these professionals ESPECIALLY when Earth is experiencing a deadly climate crisis. Here again, money is more powerful than people. It shows. YES, THAT IS A JUDGEMENT OF OUR SOCIETY!

But campaign finance reports and his signature on property documents indicate that his home is actually a $3 million, 4,000-square-foot beach house he has lived in for nearly two decades in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., located in the Florida Panhandle about 90 miles south of Dothan.

The Alabama sale in July was notarized by a person who lives in Santa Rosa Beach, indicating Tuberville was there on July 14. His wife, Suzanne Tuberville, a licensed real estate agent in Florida, has worked at a Santa Rosa Beach real estate firm since the start of this year; she does not have an Alabama real estate license.

The senator also signed in person a deed, notarized in Florida’s Walton County, where Santa Rosa Beach is located, on June 30 — during a two-week period starting June 26 that was designated in the Senate as a “State Work Period,” when lawmakers often return to their states to meet with constituents. Tuberville’s office issued a news release saying the senator met with local officials on three days of that period, June 26-28, including in Dothan, but was silent on the rest of it....

Officials are investigating (click here) how a small bag of cocaine ended up in the White House on Sunday, when it was found on the ground floor of the West Wing near where visitors taking tours are instructed to leave their cellphones, according to three people familiar with the investigation.

The discovery of a powdery white substance on Sunday evening prompted a brief evacuation of the premises. Subsequent testing confirmed it was cocaine, said Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service.

Guglielmi said “an investigation into the cause and manner” of how the substance entered the White House is ongoing. There is no indication that the cocaine’s discovery disrupted White House operations....

It is a climate crisis.

 The Maui residents want to know why they weren’t notified. Really? 

No one expected Hawaii to have wildfires. This is ALL uncharted territory where warning signs never existed before.

I have no patience with this whining.

Where were the residents of Maui when the scientists were warning for DECADES there was a heating planet due to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions? Where were you?!

Now the price has to be paid in the way of deaths, changing and charred landscape, the loss of civilization and quite possibly the loss of a beautifully benevolent planet that sustains life in the range of 98.6 F.

I have no sympathy for anyone. 

I will post Case 2 and 3 of the Untied Nations Organized Crime Network tomorrow. They are both factious checks. The ruthlessness is rather incredible. The methodology is nearly flawless as their electronic footprint is nowhere in the methodology they use. Until then.

El Nino is causing extreme clouds of water vapor to accumulate in the troposphere. It could be droughting the planet through evapotranspiration of trees and plants.

El Nino is robbing Earth of water vapor at a very high rate.

I have an app on my phone that shows the continuous visual of Earth's water vapor. I take daily images of the planet. This one in particular my provide some insight to the problems witnessed in Hawaii today.

This image shows an El Nino that has taken water from Earth's troposphere and condensed it into a heavy cloud that crossed the Pacific. We normally think of El Nino as equatorial waters further south on the face of Earth, but, I found this rather worrisome when I viewed it. That is a very heavy, dense cloud of water vapor traveling across the Pacific. It may be responsible for some of the drought witnessed in Hawaii today.

The rescue efforts are continuing Thursday (click here) after the death toll from the fast-moving wildfires wreaking havoc through Hawaii increased to 36, Maui County officials said. Blazes have been raging across Maui and have also been reported on the island of Hawaii, trapping locals and visitors as strong winds linked to Hurricane Dora continue to hamper efforts by authorities to contain the flames.

Lahaina is the island immediately northwest of the big island.

The fires tore through the historic, popular vacation town of Lahaina, in Maui County, which Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke (D) said was “decimated” and “forever changed.” President Biden declared a “major disaster” in Hawaii on Thursday and ordered federal aid to areas affected by wildfires, according to the White House....

In examining the USA Drought Monitor of Hawaii (click here) from July 11, 2023 (left image) and August 8, 2023 (right image), there is a significant difference in the island where Lahaina is located. After the El Nino cloud shown at the top of this entry, the drought on that particular island of the chain is far worse opening up the forest to extreme heat and added dryness.

Before I get on with more information regarding "Untied Nations" I wanted to share something about Earth.

This is the email that took place on July 20, 2023 informing me there would be a transfer of funds available to me to secure. The backstory is interesting, but, it was to obtain funds from a medical professional's own account to allow for pressing personal medical needs.

The entity at UnitedNations008@outlook.com was completely aware of what I was doing and my intentions. There was never any understanding there would be illegal actions taking place.

Not to worry, barrettelisa1@gmail.com, is only used for this purpose and not a preferred personal email. This account is already contaminated with corrupt and illegal activity and any USA intelligence service that wants to subpoena any and all of these emails should be free to do it. The USA intelligence network has my full permission.

This is the email that accompanied the information above.

This is the information sent to me on July 2, 2023 at 2:47 AM.

As of right now I have not informed the financial institution involved as to the very serious breach of their client's accounts, but, the letter is on the way.

This is exactly what is happening to the elderly Americans today.

The institution is now known to me, the name of the client is known to me, the username and password is known to me and the two accounts were unlocked at that hour to allow me to transfer these funds to a separate account set up solely for this purpose. 

To the best of my knowledge the transfer never happened. I certainly did not participate. I expected monies coming to me from the so called "United Nation's Banking Entity" in the way of a wire to secure a person's need for their own monies. 

I have no idea if these accounts were actually emptied as instructed by the UnitedNations008@outlook.com. They have the information and access, there is no reason to believe the transfer didn't happen or would not happen. 

It was jaw dropping to realize what was occurring when this transfer was to take place.

OUR AMERICAN SENIORS ARE NOT SAFE.

This is not the only evidence available to law enforcement to pursue. I will post more. But, this is exactly the entity that has organized a sophisticated network that entices American elderly into love relationships and provides then a tragedy to address so they are more than willing to open their monies to such exploitation.

I cannot stress enough, this is a highly sophisticated organized crime network that supplies these opportunities to Americans' monies to anyone that asks. They have their reasons I suppose, but, none of those reasons are legal.

What I told UnitedNations008@outlook.com was the internet connection was too poor to carry out the crime. I entered the password wrongly until the financial institution electronic access demanded the password be reset due to repeated improper information. There was no immediate access after this interaction with the Untied Nations crime network, the owner would have to reset the password in order for this exposure to occur again. It would definitely not have occurred with any electronic footprint of my own. 

I was told by the Untied Nations that the person was not a random elderly person, but, a UN General being generous to help someone in need. Regardless, this is not a method to legally submit money to anyone and should not be preferred method by any major global organization.

When I stated I was in the mouth of the dragon and it is real, I meant it. I expect my willingness to expose this immediate threat to all Americans to be dealt with.

The newly appointed head of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) (click here), Jim Skea, spoke to two major German news outlets over the weekend, soon after his appointment to the role.

Speaking to weekly magazine Der Spiegel, in an interview first published on Saturday, Skea warned against laying too much value on the international community's current nominal target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius compared the pre-industrial era.

"We should not despair and fall into a state of shock" if global temperatures were to increase by this amount, he said.

In a separate discussion with German news agency DPA, Skea expanded on why.

"If you constantly communicate the message that we are all doomed to extinction, then that paralyzes people and prevents them from taking the necessary steps to get a grip on climate change," he said.

"The world won't end if it warms by more than 1.5 degrees," Skea told Der Spiegel. "It will however be a more dangerous world."....

Power structures in the world excite the public about adaptation for space travel, but, do not inspire social and economical adaptation to save their home planet. 

There is not another planet people can engage to start over again. It doesn't exist. The human race must get along with Earth. 

Earth has become a threat to life due to human excesses, yet, the thirst for wealth accepts that reality as a side effect to a goal. Basically, the petroleum industry has decided human loss, no matter how many numbers, is acceptable so long as their cash flow is fluid and abundant. 

Minimizing the threat is a fool’s game. Becoming paralyzed to a resolve is only guaranteeing extinction, but, minimizing the threat is as well. Such statements will be exploited by the very petroleum industries that caused this tragedy to Earth in the first place. The petroleum industry has thrived on propaganda and frequently political propaganda.

I am certain the tempered message by Professor Skea met with the approval of Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber.

With less than five months until the conference kicks off, COP28 President Sultan Al-Jaber has come under increasing pressure to outline a clearer vision for the talks.

On Thursday, during a visit to Brussels, the embattled COP leader finally presented an agenda — a plan that was widely welcomed as a step forward but criticized for its muddled message on fossil fuels....

The statement from May 21, 2023 when Al-Jaber accepted the presidency of COP 28 and the final outcome is very different. The action plan needs to be drawn up by scientists and validated through the UN General Assembly. The petroleum politics is causing damage to the only planet humans have for a home.

The UN COP standard for leadership is grossly out of step with it's best outcomes.

People are dying. How much was that a part of the plan? Looking the other way achieves permission for death.

Scorched Earth: (click here) Environmental Warfare as a Crime against Humanity and Nature

During a summer of scorching heat (click here) that has broken records and forced Americans to confront the reality of climate change, conservatives are laying the groundwork for a 2024 Republican administration that would dismantle efforts to slow global warming.

The move is part of a sweeping strategy dubbed Project 2025 that Paul Dans of the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank organizing the effort, has called a “battle plan” for the first 180 days of a future Republican presidency.

The climate and energy provisions would be among the most severe swings away from current federal policies.

The plan calls for shredding regulations to curb greenhouse gas pollution from cars, oil and gas wells and power plants, dismantling almost every clean energy program in the federal government and boosting the production of fossil fuels — the burning of which is the chief cause of planetary warming....

These horrible CEO bonus first attitudes are very dangerous to Earth as a benevolent home to people of any country. The bonuses have no conscience. But, Wall Street isn't about benevolence and/or an Earth that is livable. Wall Street likes to think it is immune from such decisions that involve morality and humanity. Why is it continuing? 

Crypto currencies are among the biggest polluters on the plant because they requires enormous use of energy sources. So, while the USA Grid is being brought together as one (which can be a national security issue, if one fails they all fail) to support areas of the country in high energy demand, crypto currencies are allowed to exist in the USA without any priority as to electric demand and supply.

Here are one of the crony companies endangering the air around Earth and every human life along the way. 

Hydrofluorocarbon 152a is a greenhouse gas that does cause damage to the ozone layer.

This particular deodorant was sold at a Walgreens. I did not purchase it and never will. The manufacturers of Dove 0% are looking for an aerosol to bring in more profits. Damn Earth, full speed ahead to that CEO bonus.

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel (the Panel) (click here) reviewed the safety of Hydrofluorocarbon 152a, which functions as a propellant in personal care products. The Panel reviewed relevant data provided in this safety assessment, and concluded that Hydrofluorocarbon 152a is safe in the present practices of use and concentration described in this safety assessment....

It is pure corruption.

This material (click here) is considered hazardous by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).

The danger to human life has reached a staggering potential and all the greenhouse gases must be outlawed. Death is not an acceptable outcome. What is considered minor is simply providing more denial of what is best for Earth's atmospheres. These are not minor dangers. They exist and should be considered significant until any point in the future when Earth's atmospheres are once again stable and benevolent.

The chances of unintended consequences are too high when realizing that heating changes everything. I remind, people are dying.

Consequently, developed countries (those listed in Annex I to this Convention, or “Annex I” Parties) supply annual emission estimates of HFCs to the UNFCCC.

Since the Kyoto Protocol only specified limits on the sum of all controlled greenhouse gases, emissions of HFCs were not explicitly controlled. However, following the Kyoto Protocol, some countries enacted additional controls specifically limiting HFC use based on their global warming potentials (GWPs). Ultimately the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol was agreed upon in 2016, and this Amendment supplies schedules for limiting the production and consumption of specific HFCs. Although the radiative forcing supplied by HFCs is currently small, this Amendment was designed to ensure that the radiative forcing from HFCs will not grow uncontrollably in the future. The Kigali Amendment will come into force at the start of 2019. HFC concentrations are currently monitored through atmospheric measurements. All HFCs with large abundances are monitored, as are most with small abundances....

Grand Jury

It is my opinion that the American people need to realize the indictments of a former president has resulted because a jury of Americans has found evidence of a crime(s). These indictments are not a result of some politically fueled revenge. These are indictments reached through evidence based investigations by a jury of Americans. No prosecutor single handedly decided to charge crimes for his or her own purposes as some sick revenge. 

Americans found sound reason for these indictments.

He is a frustrated dictator. He states the federal legislature has no authority over the Supreme Court.

EVER HEAR OF IMPEACHMENT?

The procedure is the same, the House impeaches and the Senate convicts. Implied in that authority is the reality that since impeachment can remove a Supreme Court Justice, the the federal legislature can define what is unethical and/or corrupt. 

Alito was never a good justice and never will be.

The corruption of Joe Manchin and his gas pipeline made it to the Supreme Court and the court ruled that the federal legislation that allowed the corruption was legal.

Like I said, when it comes to corruption one carries it out and the other one swears to it. The last thing this country needs is more drilling for methane and the leaky pipelines that carry it. Yet, since the Supreme Court is more political than correct the corruption is never called out and is found to be legal.

The cover up was carried out by John Roberts without a hearing or vote. There was no rational as to why this pipeline was legal AND safe of people, hence, the climate.

Alito is wrong. Congress does hold a check and balance power over the USA Supreme Court.

13 East Coast State Energy Emergency

13 east coast states in the USA have a declared energy emergency with all power producers to operate at full capacity due to the heavy drain on the grid due to air conditioning. 

This is only the end of July. August will continue to heat.

It isn’t enough to just produce more power but there needs to be legislation in those states demanding residents and businesses to operate the air conditioning at higher temperatures. It would be best to set temperatures as high as tolerable depending on circumstances and biological need; ie: hospitals.

This is it. This is the climate crisis scientists have warned against. We are facing dire circumstances in high density population areas.

Legislators must act.

The Georgia Prosecutors are absolutely correct. Trump solicited fraud.

Grot, a Republican who has served as the Shelby Township clerk since 2012, was notified Thursday, July 20, 2023, that he will be prohibited from holding elections after being charged earlier this week for acting as a fake election in 2020 for then-President Donald Trump.

Stan Grot is responsible for his actions, but, his inspiration did not simply come into being from shear imagination. The False Elector phenomena occurred in more than just Michigan.

Ginni Thomas was in the White House frequently and in touch with Trump every time. She caused people to be fired from the staff. She was involved in bringing pressure to people to act and defraud the 2020 elections. Prosecutors better not look the other way. The Justice Thomas has stated Ginni acts independently in her political fervor. The entire scenario surrounding 2020 is being attempted again and it needs to stop. Those responsible at all levels need to be held accountable, not just the Grunt Workers like Stan Grot.

...Neama Rahmani, (click here) a former federal prosecutor and president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, said there is a possibility that Thomas could yet be investigated over the Arizona fake electoral plot.

"Her lawyer has publicly said that Thomas simply signed a pre-written letter, but there is reportedly evidence that she played a larger role in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. If so, Ginni Thomas may have crossed the line of political advocacy or aggressive legal strategy to criminal conduct," Rahmani told Newsweek.

As well as her emails to Arizona lawmakers and election officials, according to information obtained by The Washington Post and CBS News, Thomas was found to have sent text messages to Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows urging him to help overturn the 2020 results while spouting a series of election conspiracy theories, including calling Biden's victory as the "greatest heist of our history."

The House Select Committee which investigated the Capitol attack said that Thomas was also in direct communication with Trump attorney John Eastman, who allegedly orchestrated the plot to pressure former Vice President Mike Pence to not certify the 2020 election results in Congress on January 6, despite knowing such a tactic would be illegal....

The Georgia prosecutors are absolutely correct. There is no doubt and plenty of proof. Trump solicited fraud.

Other states need to examine the findings of Georgia because Trump actively solicited plans to overthrow a federal presidential election. There are false electors being charged, but, don't stop there. They did not carry out their conspiracy alone.

The Fulton county district attorney (click here) investigating Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia in recent weeks has weighed several potential statutes under which to charge, including solicitation to commit election fraud and conspiracy to commit election fraud, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The move by the Fulton county district attorney, Fani Willis, to identify a list of potential charges marks a major juncture in the criminal investigation and suggests prosecutors are on course to ask a grand jury to return indictments next month.

Among the state election law charges that prosecutors were examining: criminal solicitation to commit election fraud and conspiracy to commit election fraud, as well as solicitation of a public or political officer to fail to perform their duties and solicitation to destroy, deface or remove ballots, the people said....

AI needs to be permanently dismantled.

I have said it before. AI has no brain. It does not think. It cannot discern life from no life. It is dangerous in it's ability to be programmed and carry forward it's own priorities. It creates lazy humans.

This may be a test, but, it also is proof. AI is not capable of thinking and allowing it's programming is too dangerous to continue. The only entity that thinks and conducts the scientific method are human beings.

The world’s best artificial intelligence (AI) systems (click here) can pass tough exams, write convincingly human essays and chat so fluently that many find their output indistinguishable from people’s. What can’t they do? Solve simple visual logic puzzles.

In a test consisting of a series of brightly coloured blocks arranged on a screen, most people can spot the connecting patterns. But GPT-4, the most advanced version of the AI system behind the chatbot ChatGPT and the search engine Bing, gets barely one-third of the puzzles right in one category of patterns and as little as 3% correct in another, according to a report by researchers this May1.

The team behind the logic puzzles aims to provide a better benchmark for testing the capabilities of AI systems — and to help address a conundrum about large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4. Tested in one way, they breeze through what once were considered landmark feats of machine intelligence. Tested another way, they seem less impressive, exhibiting glaring blind spots and an inability to reason about abstract concepts.

“People in the field of AI are struggling with how to assess these systems,” says Melanie Mitchell, a computer scientist at the Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico whose team created the logic puzzles (see ‘An abstract-thinking test that defeats machines’)....

Lawsuit filed by Disability Rights Mississippi, (click here) the League of Women Voters of Mississippi, a voter and two individuals who provide voter assistance challenging Senate Bill 2358, a recently enacted law that “restricts voters with disabilities from having a person of their choice assist them in submitting their completed” mail-in ballots. Specifically, S.B. 2358 stipulates that only election officials, postal workers, family members, household members or caregivers can assist voters with disabilities in returning their completed mail-in ballots and imposes criminal penalties and fines on those who violate the law. Prior to the enactment of S.B. 2358, anyone of a voter’s choice — including social workers, voting organizations and other trusted individuals — could assist voters with disabilities in returning their completed mail-in ballots. 

The plaintiffs allege that the challenged law — which makes it harder for voters to cast their ballot and “also risks disenfranchising entirely blind, disabled, or low-literacy voters” — violates Section 208 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA). Section 208 of the VRA guarantees that “[a]ny voter who requires assistance to vote by reason of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write may be given assistance by a person of the voter’s choice’” so long as the assistor is not the “the voter’s employer or agent of that employer or officer or agent of the voter’s union.”...

A U.S. District Court in Mississippi (click here) temporarily blocked a voting law in the state Tuesday that was set to go into effect July 1. The law, known as Senate Bill 2358, creates new restrictions for who can assist someone while voting by mail.

Voting rights and disability rights advocates, who filed the lawsuit, argue Mississippi's law violates a federal protection that allows a voter to choose who helps them cast a ballot.

In his order striking down the law, U.S. District Court Judge Henry Wingate wrote, "voting polls are expected to extend outstretched hands of welcome and provide unfettered access to conscientious citizens anxious to enjoy 'participatory democracy'- whether those citizens be among the vulnerable and the disabled."

SB 2358, which was signed into law earlier this year, set new limits on who can collect and transmit a ballot that was mailed to someone else. In Mississippi, the state's absentee-by-mail voting program is for limited groups of voters — people out of town on Election Day, people 65 or older and people with a temporary or permanent physical disability....

Why are there politics surrounding Hunter Biden?

Hunter Biden is not being handed a pardon by his father. He is made to be responsible for his actions. If his attorney tried to consolidate the resolve to the indictments in one document, that is not anyone's fault. The judge stated it was unprecedented. It is time for Hunter Biden's attorney to try again to find an avenue of appropriate fines, etc. 

The GOP's corruption runs deep and doesn't at all include accountability for their lawlessness.
