The 'claw backs' written into the law that would pay for it to benefit the USA citizens is more than interesting.

Rep. Stephen Lynch is the man background.
It would seem the London Office of Morgan is where the losses were authorized and there are statements about Morgan moving their operations there.
What also came out is other financial institutions use the Cayman Islands for their investment banks.
But, there is something more Rep. Lynch was interested in. He learned the FDIC was exposed to liability in the losses from Morgan. If the losses exceeded Morgans capacity to handle the losses the coverage from the FDIC would have covered the losses and the American Taxpayer would be on the hook for this disaster all over again.
While the iconic label to the right is frequently seen by depositors in a bank the color needs to be changed. Evidently, Jamie Dimon is under the impression the FDIC is actually as solid as an investment in the gold market.
The Dodd-Frank Laws and the Volcker Rule cannot be overlooked as significant law which has to be upheld to protect the American citizen from exploitation of banks that sincerely don't care about them. The Republicans seek to weaken these laws exposing the American citizen to liability even today and are very wrong to proceed down that path.
Morgan is going to provide more information to shareholders on July 13th. The losses started the end of March. The realization of the sincere problems weren't realized until the end of April. In order to find the problems with the portfolio experts were called in to consult Morgan.
I am glad Mr. Dimon has confidence in his company. Rightfully so. However, the company is huge, its assets nearly undiscernible to decide the protections available to this company. This was somewhat of a sneeze to Morgan, but, that is not the case across the board and Rep. Valezquaz pointed out the losses put an entire smaller bank out of business.
I have been impressed with the Democratic Representatives on the House Committee, including Rep. Maxine Waters who was visibly shaken by the testimony of Mr. Dimon. It is safe to say this is a huge dynamic few understand enough to adequately provide sovereign governments with a safety margin enjoyed by Morgan of their shareholders THIS TIME. Morgan nearly didn't catch it this time without outside help. Follow?
Morgan is without a doubt the largest, successful investment/bank in the world. Even it was unsuccessful in finding the danger to its structure within its own talent and infrastructure. This is a dynamic that plays with the fringes/margins of the financial global network. When he gives testimony he speaks in terms of global markets, not simple errors or oversights. I am sure Morgan learned a great deal they are not obligated to share about the dynamics of their losses and how the markets react. I don't know whom is better to have the information. That information will be invaluable, however, that doesn't mean the citizens of any nation should have this level of exposure to the risk these companies now enjoy.
The laws have to regulate this, they have to be strong enough to prevent speculation to this extent in markets because there are huge levels of uncertainty that experts seek to understand. That won't change. There is no new knowledge that can control the entire world. There are too many variables at any given time. The laws have to protect the citizens and the futures including their entitlements. When Morgan is confident they are safe from bankruptcy that means they can cover their losses 'in house,' but, it doesn't mean the Social Security Trust Fund will be intact if the USA bonds it relies on goes bad in the process.
All the regulatory laws since the first depression and its recovery affiliated with FDR need to be reviewed and incorporated into the laws of Dodd-Frank and Volker to stop this hideous exposure to sovereign nations. That is all that can be done here. The oversight of the US Government is to protect the people and cut loose those companies intent on risk and not investment.
Morgan can go about their business, but, the USA cannot continue to stand by and allow these companies to grow risk that is impossible to predict and control.

It is fairly obvious why Republicans won't have anything to do with The American Jobs Act, it would deprive their re-election funds if they cronies had to cut back on donations after all.
TITLE IV -- OFFSETS
Title four of The American Jobs Act is about Offsets. Offsets is another word for "How the heck are we going to put the people back to work without exploding the National Debt?"
Subtitle A – 28 Percent Limitation on Certain Deductions and Exclusions
Section 401 is the only provision under Subtitle A. The beginning of Section 401 spells out why the Republicans in the House and Senate won't back The American Jobs Act. It cuts into their cronies priorities. Of course, the only defense McConnell has is that anyone who doesn't want to take these deductions doesn't have to or they can write a big fat check to the USA Treasury if they really mean what they say.
Huh?
That is not an answer, it is scapegoating the American people to bully them into demanding their own companies be more generous to the USA Treasury. Here is a brief summary of why these things need to be done by Congress.
To begin with IT IS CONGRESS' JOB to set the tax code and realize when the country needs to modify its generosity to the private sector and save future generations from bankruptcy. The National Debt needs to be paid and the interest is out of hand, the Congress needs to act to remove measures in the Tax Code that will not harm the regrowth of the economy. Now, while Mr. McConnell believes that every aspect of the tax code needs to be kept, that is a lie. A lie. Either that or Mr. McConnell is a complete moron. Take your pick.
Currently the most stressed sector of the employment picture is construction. So, all the tax provisions that provide reasons for construction to flourish needs to be preserved. The most important of the construction business is the small business subcontractors, but, they need contractors to get their work. President Obama has provided opportunity to return the construction business to prosper by redirecting their expertise to a new venue; the refurbishment of our deteriorating schools. So, the tax code has to support these efforts to make it all happen and squeeze every job out of every dollar in this sector. That has to be supported with the knowledge there are areas of the tax code providing profits and NOT support to other business sectors.
Now, follow me on this. When the USA government sees opportunity to grow the economy, but, the business sector involved is unable to reach to those goals, the tax code can be a very good place to create incentive and REWARDS for a business sector to begin to flourish in different ways. It protects them from failure and provides new venues for them to pursue. What do we know about the construction sector? It is heavy in capital investment such as heavy machinery, safety provisions and skilled labor. So, when venues are an opportunity but are unreachable by the sector the tax code can provide relief to make those capital investments, etc.
That is just an example. What President Obama did in The American Jobs Act was to examine the tax code, realize where 'business sector incentives and subsidies to make new goals possible' have actually become part of the PROFIT structure of the industry. American taxpayers do not have to provide profits to any private sector, because that is DOUBLE DIPPING. The American Taxpayer is already providing profits to the private sector by purchasing their services and products. Providing monies from their US Treasury that enhance their profits when they actually should be absorbed by the private sector is not only immoral, it is DOUBLE DIPPING. I have a feeling if one looked hard enough in the criminal code there would be laws that parallel this dynamic of corruption called Racketeering or whatever.
What the provisions in the tax code never do is provide a sunset standard to remove the burden from the American Taxpayer when the private industry has absorbed enough of the incentives to flourish and make profits on their own. There is a threshold to be realized. This is where the bubble and burst mess takes place. There is a 'market share' in the real world. When that Market Share is known it is up to the private sector to participate. One of the first things a smart manager/ceo do when presenting a new profit venture is to carry numbers to the table to justify the investment. So, I don't want to hear how Congress simply states a tax incentive is forever. It is not and it is measurable. Hence, a sunset provision.
Research and Development is always an excuse to keep tax subsidies and tax breaks going, but, at some point in time R&D is taken out of the profit structure and lowers the tax burden of the private sector industry. When a private sector reaches the ability to completely support itself without the help of the American Taxpayer, then they have arrived and do not need the help afforded them to achieve the goal opportunity presented. That is not academic, it is reality and a hard reality the private sector needs to RETURN to, rather than believing they are entitled to illegitimate profit venues. Costs are always a deduction in the tax code and do adjust the tax burden.
Now, one other thing.
Why doesn't the private sector just write a big fat check to the US Treasury?
This relates to market share.
If everyone in the same private sector is not looking at the same tax dynamic for their business, unfair advantages are created.
Let's say Mr. Buffet has a load of loose cash in his treasury. Mr. McConnell nastily states, "Mr. Buffet can write a nice big fat check to the US Treasury if he feels that way." That indicates Mr. Buffet is exceptionally profitable and more than he should be, so he should contribute all he can.
Well, the Republican ideology doesn't really align with that idea, but, let's say Mr. Buffet in intimidation by Mr. McConnell writes a big, fat check to the USA Treasury. Then sometime afterward he needs that cash flow to insure the employees in his firms have their needs met and are still in his firm. Mr. Buffet has disadvantaged himself against his competition and he may no longer be competitive. That would be a bad thing. Mr. Buffet, while generous to non-profit organizations should never be out of step with all the advantages of the competition in his sector of business. What Mr. McConnell would have successfully done is intimidate a very nice and astute business man, obviously patriotic to the USA, to compromise himself against his peers and/or competition. THAT is Un-American and only proves how vicious Mr. McConnell is to those in this country trying to 'set the standard correct' within the tax code. Mr. Buffet is correct to ignore these lousy words and insist on a tax provision in his name that would make the playing field fair to everyone.

But, from what I recall, there were no investigations or significant oversight of any kind of the Bush Administration with the exception of The Valerie Plame outing. That investigation was begun in 2003 with an investigation by the FBI. The case wasn't sent to indictment until 2005 after the re-election of Bush/Cheney. The trial was in 2007.
As I recall there was poor oversight during six years under Bush until Democrats took the majority in the House in 2006.
So, basically, Darrell Issa, elected to the House in 2000 never questioned the gun walking programs under the Bush White House.
The US Justice Department is having success in arresting, trying and sentencing straw purchasers. Just a point of interest. These arrests and prosecution were under existing laws. There were no new laws asked for to prosecute these people.
So, Darrell Issa is lying about gun laws. The gun laws on the books are being used to prosecute criminals. If Darrel Issa and Republican Speaker Boner are going to lie for political fodder regarding this topic, it discredits their intent and sincerity to the outcome.
AG Holder cannot disclose information regarding ongoing investigations and prosecutions. It is classified and involves an area of the country, ie: McAllen, Texas, entrenched in potential violence. It isn't prudent to put people's lives in danger.

McALLEN – Taisa Garcia, 21, and Marco Antonio Villalobos, 20, (click here) both of San Juan, have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in straw purchasing firearms, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced Tuesday.
Chief United States District Judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa sentenced to Garcia and Villalobos to 33 and 46 months of imprisonment, respectively, each to be followed by a two-year-term of supervised release. They both pleaded guilty June 5, 2011, to making a false statement in the acquisition of a firearm from a federally licensed firearms dealer, commonly referred to as straw purchasing, in violation of Title 18 United States Code, Section 924(a)(1)(A).
According to court documents, Villalobos offered to pay Garcia to find straw purchasers. In February 2010, Garcia then asked a cooperating source to purchase two firearms in exchange for payment. That person met with Garcia and Villalobos, was provided U.S. currency and directed to purchase two firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer. The source then delivered the firearms to a location in San Juan, Texas, and to Garcia....

McALLEN, Texas – Ten people have been sentenced today for their roles in making false statement on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) forms 4473 in the acquisition of firearms from federal firearms licensees (FFL) and exporting those firearms to Mexico, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today.
Chief United States District Judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa handed down sentences today for Jose Alberto Rios, 43, Daisy Yesenia Santos, 24, Roxana Perez, 31, and Jose Alberto Trevino, 27, all of Roma, Texas; Josefina Guzman, 36, a Mexican national illegally residing in the United States; Juan Antonio Avalos, 25, Siboney Hinojosa Navarro, 34, and Jose Angel Celedon, 27, all of Rio Grande City, Texas; and Jeniffer Lopez, 30, of Garciasville, Texas.
Rios, Guzman, Avalos, Trevino, Perez and Celedon will serve 51, 30, 33, 36, 25 and 24 months, respectively, while Santos, Navarro and Lopez will all serve five months in prison. The prison terms will each be followed by either a two or three-year-term of supervised release. Santos and Hinojosa will also have to serve an additional five months of home confinement after they are released from prison. Navarro Eluid Saenz, 25, of Roma, Texas, was sentenced to three years probation with six months of home confinement as he played the smallest of the roles and purchased only two firearms.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — U.S. stocks on Thursday took their second hardest knock so far this year as economic reports indicating a slowdown in global manufacturing increased investor anxiety.
Data illustrating a slowdown in euro-area manufacturing and Chinese output also contracting pummeled commodities, with oil falling below $80 a barrel gold prices below $1,600 an ounce.
“We are seeing general weakness, not just here, but around the world. It’s going to be very difficult for us to be an island of prosperity while the global economy is slowing,” said Paul Nolte, managing director at Dearborn Partners in Chicago.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average retreated 250.82 points, or 2%, to 12,573.57....
There is a reason why The Standard Club does not insure vessels carrying munitions.
The Standard Club does not have to insure ships with the potential of being the focus of a retaliative attack. The government of Great Britain does not necessarily want munitions floating past its sovereign borders. I know Russia and China would not accept such activity near its borders. As a matter of fact, Russia was very upset about a satellite near their border. So, the argument seems academic. If Great Britain has sanctions against Syria, it does not have to tolerate activity in its shipping lanes that support that activity, including the insurance companies that operate within their borders.
Russia's Foreign Minister is incorrect regarding this topic. Human rights seems to be left out of his dialogue as well.
...The U.K.-based insurer (click here) Standard Club said it removed insurance coverage for the ship owner when it became aware it was carrying munitions, a clear breach of its rules. The move forced the ship, the MV Alaed, to turn back toward Russia.

LOS CABOS, Mexico -- World leaders told Europe to pull together to overcome its debt crisis, endorsing a road map fortighter integration to cut borrowing costs and prevent further damage to the global economy.
With Spain readying a request within days for as much as 100 billion euros ($127 billion) for its banks, euro-area leaders at a Group of 20 summit in Mexico pledged to take "all necessary policy measures" to defend the currency union. The U.S. committed to cut spending while avoiding a "sharp fiscal contraction" in 2013.…
To put this into context, a gunman enters a peaceful scene, alarms the peaceful citizen into action of self defense after being aggravated in a stalking incident by the gunman and the gunman then contents his killing of the peaceful citizen is in self defense. Sure and my name is the Tooth Fairy.

Then Zimmerman should have followed the directions of the police and not stalked an innocent young black man in the first place. Zimmerman continues to believe he was correct in his actions before the assault against Trayvon Martin. When Zimmerman approached Mr. Martin HE WAS ASSAULTING HIM.
Assault is an act that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent, harmful, or offensive contact.
Trayvon Martin was defending himself but was defeated from doing so by the gunman. Trayvon Martin did not initiate the assault which alarmed him into action, Zimmerman did. After Zimmerman assaulted Trayvon Martin he was breaking the law both in effect of his own actions and in moving against the orders of police. George Zimmerman is guilty as hell and all his dramatics and whining won't change his own actions that day.
I ask myself why everyone hearing the calls for help went to the phone to call police rather than entering the scene themselves? The residents hearing the calls for help were frantic at the other end of the phone for police to come to help. When people act in the same manner in numbers greater than one at the same time that PROVES something.
Zimmerman was on a mission he created in his own mind. A mission no one else in the neighborhood would consent to in their own lives. It is called being cautious of eminent/imminent danger. Those calling the police were being rational and compassionate at the same time. In reality they were acting as only a reasonable person could have not knowing the danger involved. Citizens aren't trained, nor should they be, to discern whether or not they can act to stop danger. They expect the people they hire in their police, fire and emergency (first responders) departments to do that. It is why 'arming the streets' is so very, very wrong. Arming the streets victimizes the innocent.
Bill Lee didn't even back up his own officers when Zimmerman was told not to follow Trayvon Martin. I mean, hello? A man was dead.

The Sanford police chief who failed to arrest George Zimmerman immediately after the fatal shooting of Miami-Dade teen Trayvon Martin four months ago — and brought national attention and derision to the Central Florida city — has been terminated.
The announcement was made late Wednesday night by Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte, who said in a news release that Police Chief Bill Lee “has been relieved of his duties” effective immediately. The chief had been on paid leave....
It looks like a degree of concussion to me.
The building to the left was hit directly and fire erupted. The concussion was evident by the pile of rubble falling from the brick facade. There is a hole in the brick where more rubble appears. The building to the right shows rubble falling away from the hole in the brick building. The fallen rubble does not show any scorching from fire. The shingles are intact and the rubble of that kind is settled in one spot where concussion ended. The building on the right was on fire, so why was the rubble in the foreground saved from scorching?
The physics of the picture dictate the buildings to the left were hit with a concussive force disrupting the construction of the buildings and igniting them. The rubble is all moving in one direction toward the photographer.
Unfortunately, the picture does not reveal the number of people dead due to the shelling of these buildings or why they were targeted. The accusation by the Syrian government that these were places of where rebels lived is now mute to investigation. There are no Homs citizens in this area of the city to report that reality.
When I think of what the people want in the way of democracy and whether or not there were rebels to be contended with I would expect reports from the people leaving for refuge that they were being attacked by rebels and not the government. No one, including the refugees in Lebanon have reported rebels were killing them.
I believe Assad was seeking to close the borders of Syria to corral people into areas within Syria where he could carry out shelling to kill them. It doesn't make sense a benevolent national leader would close the borders to refugees to trap them into being killed by rebels when he could not control those rebels in causing the deaths of citizens.
I believe Assad knows if he went after the refugees outside the borders of Syria would result in attacks on him by NATO and very justified for it. I sincerely believe Assad is a very real danger to the region for many reasons and the attack helicopters were to only be the beginning of an escalation to any whom questioned him.
That is why the United Nation's efforts are problematic. While appearing to be willing to cooperate, Assad always retreats to the power of annihilation available to him. He wants control. He doesn't care how he gets it or how far the reach is. I appreciate President Putin's intervention with helicopters to circumstances with potential to escalate to the entire region if assistance was supplied to the Syrian government to do so. I would hate to think Assad was the impetus to an international confrontation. No one really needs that, do they?
Mission creep is a terrible problem The West has as a means to an end with a political system entrenched with Neocons. Sometimes Russia and China does not appreciate those dynamics as much as they should. Syria's war is best contained with limited munitions and deaths. Seriously. Whoever expected Iraq to light up knowing Osama bin Laden was between Afghanistan and Pakistan? Containment. It is the best outcome to ambitious dictators.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has said it will try on Thursday to evacuate civilians from the Syrian city of Homs.
ICRC spokesman Rabab al-Rifai said that in addition to the planned evacuations of the wounded, the ill and others wanting to leave rebel-held areas, the organisation would also distribute humanitarian aid including medical kits in the neighbourhoods that have endured shelling and clashes for the past 10 days.
Activists said the shelling of Homs continued on Thursday, killing two people.
Homs, Syria's third largest city, has been one of the hardest-hit areas since the uprising against Bashar al-Assad's regime began 15 months ago. Rebels control several neighbourhoods, which government troops have attacked intensely over the past two weeks....

The House is ramming through HR 4480 to open more public lands to exploitation by the petroleum industry. Title II of this bill seeks to gut the Clean Air Act.

This is Title II of HR 4480.
Title II of H.R. 4480 eliminates a core principle of the Clean Air Act with respect to ozone pollution, which is also known as smog. For over 40 years, EPA has set health-based air quality standards using scientific and medical evidence to identify the maximum safe levels of air pollution for humans to breathe. EPA and the states then adopt requirements to reduce air pollution to achieve those air quality standards, taking costs into account. This approach was unanimously upheld by the Supreme Court in an opinion written by Justice Scalia.[1] The health-based standards in the Act are especially important for protecting children, the elderly and others who are particularly susceptible to harm from air pollution.
HR 4480 puts the emphasis on oil and gas rather than the future. It will ultimately cost the USA jobs as the cost of USA energy will continue to rise along with the cost of products hence limiting the growth of the USA economy and increase in demand for labor. Adding jobs to the petroleum industry is not the answer to growing the USA economy. It is grossly misguided and completely disregards the citizen, children and the future of the USA.

Bills creating incentives for wind power will not cause increased pollution or harbor dangers for childhood asthma. If wind power were provided the type of tax incentives as the petroleum industry it would immediately, NOT TEN YEARS FROM NOW, but immediately add 17,000 jobs to the USA economy in addition to what already exists today.
Drilling oil and gas will not lower the costs. It is set on a global market and the products produced from the USA and Canada will not stay within the USA borders. The House Republicans are seeking to reward their cronies, back Romney's energy adviser whom knows nothing about anything except oil and gas and to play to their base. This legislation has no relevance to the future of the USA. In ten years, there will be more alternative energy sites, more electric cars as well as Flex Fuel trucks including those running on biodiesel because it will be cheaper than any petroleum product on the market.
Perhaps the US Senate needs to pass a bill to insure the guarantees of the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech to the USA House. I am sure it will receive good coverage and will probably pass in the House. I am sure the President will sign it. I sincerely believe the House Democrats have a right to sue the majority Republicans imposing gag orders on them. It is unconstitutional and the rule needs to be removed. I doubt even the current Supreme Court would support that mess.
HR 4480 can be litigated. Besides the harm this bill will bring to the people of the USA, the integrity of the bill was not insured by open and free debate will all facts coming to bear. I do believe the Gag Order on those opposing the bill will result in an unconstitutional status and should be included in any legal challenge if the bill ever makes it's way into law, which is realistic by today's standards. I believe the House is engaged in a political stunt and nothing else. To deny the Constitutional rights of debate on the House Floor is an assault against any legislative process to creating law.

The plan provides future direction for 2.4 million acres of BLM-managed public lands within the National Petroleum Reserve - Alaska. The lands to be covered by the plan were designated as a special area in 1977, with additional lands added in 1999.
Land use within the special area provides maximum protection for Arctic peregrine falcons that nest on cliffs along the Colville River and its major tributaries. Although protections for Arctic peregrine falcons have been provided in previous Federal Register notices and NEPA documents, this is the first plan providing consistent management direction throughout the NPR-A’s three major planning units (South, Northwest, and Northeast) for BLM-managed public lands along the Colville River Special Area....
It is a protected area for a specific reason and pipelines, roads and bridges in the area will compromise that status. This is another topic of litigation if the amendment passes under House vote. The USA House is seeking to dismantle laws of the land in the USA. They are seeking a coupe in many ways and should be viewed, even if not stated, as same.
Every aspect of the law is under question and the purpose behind this bill highly questionable. The USA EPA has been working with the petroleum industry to reduce the risks to human health by this industry. Representative Hinchey of New York could not be more correct in his concerns with this industry.
If one recalls, school buildings of coal mining towns are covered with coal dust compromising the lungs of the children that attend there. The coal industry could not care less about the people in the region of their industry and have no compassion for children. The development of hydraulic fracturing has the same dynamic. Complete disregard to the public, their federal lands and free use of them for recreational purpose, the protections of the wildlife on those lands and the protections of their clean water and air.
Cisterns provide a somewhat effective filtering system to contaminated water supplies, but, there is no going back. Once an aquifer is contaminated it is contaminated forever.
The petroleum industry is destroying the lands and aquifers of generations of our children. If they don't care about the air they breath or the water they drink today, why would they in the future? It is a huge folly to believe the petroleum industry is responsible, even to human life today, yet to expect them to appreciate those yet to be a part of this nation in the future.
Pro-Life are Republicans, but, that life doesn't have to have any quality to it, especially the air and water that completes that life.
Rep. Waxman is correct about adding additional layers of government to EPA activities. It is duplicity of purpose as the House Committee already exerts oversight to the laws of the USA. It would add expense to the Energy Department while the Republican's Budget seeks to cut the budget. The amendments requiring an additional government structure to do the work of the EPA are unconstitutional because it seeks to impinge the oversight responsibilities of the House Committee. The Legislative Branch is autonomous and does not need additional government committees to conduct their work, unless want to go golfing instead. The House Committees have the right to implement hearings if laws arise as a problem. That law is legislative statute and cannot be transferred to exterior committees or other government structures.
If anyone wants to try to understand why there is more oil drilling in the USA under the Obama Administration; check the reinfusion of monies into the departments funding under this administration. The Department of Energy has more employees to handle the necessary paperwork to allow drilling to proceed. That is not a President or administration interested in oppressing an industry.
The Bush administration and its Republican Congress cut budgets and impeded the processing of paperwork for permits to drill in the USA and it is why the petroleum industry didn't increase their activity in the USA during that time. Don't tell me the Republicans are 'Drill, Babe, Drill" or "Drill Here, Drill Now." They lie. It is easy for elected representatives to pass laws for political volleys, it is quite something different to actually provide the funding to have it happen.

This provision of HR 4480 directly places cost into the equation of regulations of air quality for the country. Clean Air Standards under the Clean Air Act cannot be redefined based on cost. If the cost of clean air to this country doesn't cost a thing. It is the pollution and the interruption of pollution effecting lives is what costs monies to insure the clean air standard is upheld. Representative Gardner is wrong. He does not put health and environmental standards ahead of profits.

This is an industry receiving billions of subsides from the taxpayer and has record profits to date. There is no hardship in the petroleum industry, it does cause hardship to the citizen.
The Markey Amendment preserves natural resources for other generations of the USA. The USA should only exploit its own natural resources for its citizens. Do you know a gallon of gas in Saudi Arabia is 98 cents US today? Saudi Arabia processes its own natural resources for its citizens. They also export, but, the Saudi generation today coming into their adulthood are questioning the wisdom in those policies.
The idea the USA natural resources are actually used against the best costs to its citizens and dictated by global prices is ridiculous to me, except, it provides realistic decision making regarding those resources and moving to alternative fuels. Price gouging of Americans is allowed through speculation. The Saudis don't have that problem and why it was a revelation to them when it was occurring and the King made it clear they had no influence in those prices and production was never cut to increase the costs to Americans. The USA bases its economy in capitalism as if it is the law of the land. In the case of using its natural resources it is gaming against its best outcomes to continue in this manner. Additionally, the Republican House is more than willing to deplete their children's natural resources for crony profits today by exporting them. The Attorney General is more than qualified for the job he has.
I believe President Obama is obligated to grant the request of Executive Privilege given the fact the documents are classified and AG Holder requested that level of protection for them. I don't see that President Obama has been so involved with the ATF he would have first hand knowledge of what is contained in those documents.
Someone has to be trusted in these matters.
The GOP has so politicized the issues of gun walking begun under the Bush Administration in an attempt to bring complete responsibility to the current administration as they have with everything else inherited from the previous administration, one can hardly call Issa responsible.
I would think if Chairman Issa wanted to sincerely investigate the concerns surrounding gun walking by the ATF he would have insisted it be held to some degree of scrutiny by the public, but, not to the extent their re-election bids and Executive Branch wishes were riding on it. That is over reaching by Chairman Issa and it could be said AG Holder is unsure how the classified documents would be used and to what extent they would become PR for the Republicans while compromising the security of the documents and information.
These gun walking programs by the ATF involve the knowledge of the activities of the cartels in Mexico. There are incredible numbers of people killed by these cartels. President Calderon has stated the killings are down considerably within Mexico this year, however, the numbers are still far too high.
The USA has enjoyed reasonable national security from these cartels and have not witnessed the degree of violence existing in Mexico. I believe these investigations may be important, but, to the extent they will become public political plays is dangerous. That is my opinion and it is not biased. I don't want my country compromised for political fodder. Issa could have handled this differently with a better outcome. It wasn't until this most recent meeting at the suggestion of AG Holder were there ANY requests for private meetings in regard to this information.
Issa has a long way to go to prove AG Holder holds any contempt.
The gun walking programs have been stopped from my understanding. They should have never, ever existed in the first place and to that reality and the death of our Border Agents both parties are responsible.
The latest I am hearing out of North Carolina is not a Romney surge, but, a Libertarian surge.
Some of these folks are gathering at the Ron Paul camp. They are not interested in being part of the crowd and they don't sincerely call themselves Republican, but, they are interested in having an impact on the election of 2012 so the other major parties finally pay attention. They are doggedly determined to break the mind set of the electorate and 'be heard.' They have their priorities and believe in the man retiring from the House this year. They are more determined than ever to be a solitary voice and not being incorporated into the mainstream Republican dysfunction. They love their country and believe they have been failed by others' political agenda.
If the GOP is throwing Ron Paul under the bus at their convention, the Democrats should adopt him as a guest speaker no different than the Brady family, Clinton and gun control. Just a suggestion. Ron Paul sincerely deserves the respect the Dems can afford him.

President Obama has been out in front of defining the former Governor and honestly assessing the GOP strategy. I do believe the country's electorate knows the claims that "Obama's policies has failed," is simply nonsense. The GOP wants to claim if the President did nothing like the Republican Congress the country would be better off. The Congress has been a disaster since the election of 2010 and nearly crashed the USA budget causing a public show that lowered the USA credit rating in one credentializing agency. I could debate the accuracy of that rating, but, that nearly isn't the point. The USA cannot afford to have a public show of governing implosion. The Congress and the Executive Branch has to be prepared to act in a way that tells the world the USA is in control of their immediate and long term future.
The President showed 'good faith' in addressing both the debt ceiling level while seeing the national debt as a challenge the nation has to win when he offered a Grand Bargain and calling for a Presidential Commission on methods to address the national debt. On the other hand, the Congress appeared as deer in the headlights with these issues. It was completely obvious Congress had no clue about how to achieve any realistic governing goal, yet alone tackle the national debt in a way that would not destroy the elderly and young's lifelines.
So, while the Bloomberg poll is an outlier there are other polls showing the trend overall of the President making his case for re-election.

The Executive Order saving young Hispanics from deportation is not a pivot. President Obama has believed that is the correct thing to do for his entire Presidency so far. The Executive Order defined the fact Congress is broken and causing hardship in young people's lives.
This generation has been abandoned by the Congress causing the highest unemployment rate of professionals in the country's history. To some extent the dynamics of the young Hispanics is mimicked by their American born peers, so there is no reason to believe they are compounding the employment picture. The idea these young folks are causing hardship for others is nonsense. This entire generation, be them immigrants or citizens by birth, are facing huge challenges to find employment.

Bloomberg News is touting a new poll that appears to shows strong public support for President Barack Obama’s de facto amnesty for many illegal immigrants, but the poll is skewed and pushes respondents toward approval, say critics.
“It doesn’t mention that at least one and a half million illegal aliens are being offered work permits to compete with the 20 million under- and unemployed Americans who can’t find a full-time job,” said Roy Beck of NumbersUSA....
The Bloomberg poll only reflects the fact President Obama needs to continue to speak the truth and make his case to the American people to break the stalemate in DC.
