The gunman had high powered military style weapons and the police force responded with a bomb. The is the worst sort of policing that exists. The lack of firearm regulation has resulted in a country with responding forces that are turning our cities into Baghdad.
The gun man was there to protect protesters. This is not rocket science. He had conducted his own intelligence of the area. He where he would retreat to when police came for him. Once the protest ended and it was apparent to him there was danger to protesters he fired on the police standing around within his scope. I am assuming he had a scope.
A bomb was used to kill him. Killing him was determined the best way to handle the secluded gunman. The robot could have delivered a lot of things and the gunman didn't have to die at the use of a bomb. I don't consider this good police work.
In past issues where the police department was the target, the SWAT team used 50 mm shells to pierce an armored vehicle where the gunman was sitting. It is all too clear what happens when there is 'gun anarchy,' democracy is lost and civil wars begin.
This is Dallas the place where anything gun is allowed. Take a good long look.
This incidence in Dallas is the first salvo of a civil war. Those in revolt of the police are getting first hand information about them.

To apprehend a suspect in the Dallas (click here) shooting last night that took the lives of five officers, police used a robot to deliver a bomb. That makes Dallas police the first law enforcement agency that has ever used a robot to kill.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown told reporters that the department chose to use the remote-controlled robot after hours of failed negotiations and the desire to not put any more officers in harms way.
Robots have commonly been used by police in situations like bomb diffusing and even in hostage or other life-threatening situations. In 2015, police were able to talk a man out of suicide in California after using a remote-controlled robot to deliver him a phone and a pizza.According to Peter Singer, a defense technology expert, MARCbot (Multi-Function Agile Remote-Controlled) surveillance robots have been used before in similar methods by U.S. troops in Iraq....
The ATF has wanted changes to the munition load on USA streets. Why? Because they are armor piercing bullets. There is absolutely nothing the citizen cannot buy differently than police or military. Terrorist cells can organize in the USA and obtain their weapons unimpeded. A civil war is on it's way, too.
This is not PTSD. PTSD in this instance is an excuse. The gunman was not wildly shooting at everyone and anyone, he was rational and focused. The civilians injured were probably innocently crossing the line of fire.
"To apprehend a suspect in the Dallas..." is how the media is describing the actions by SWAT police. There was no intention of apprehension if they are deploying bombs.
What damage was done to the structure by the bomb. Crumbling structure?

...In a 17 page document (click here) released earlier this month the ATF proposed the reclassification of “5.56mm constituent projectiles of SS109 and M855 cartridges” from the category of “primarily used for sporting purposes” to that of “armor piercing ammunition.” The agency fears that the ammunition used in AR based handguns can penetrate bullet proof vests worn by law enforcement officers....
