Not all sexual predators are men. Some are drunk on power and are women.

...But like all Trumpworld figures, (click here) all of whom are subtle variations on the same type of person, she is hardly suitable for such a role. Her 2018 dismissal from Fox News, reportedly over sexual harassment allegations, make her a pretty lousy bridge between women and the president, who has himself been credibly accused of sexual misconduct and rape, all of which he has forcefully denied. But new details about her alleged firing reported by the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer on Thursday would seem to disqualify her entirely.

According to Mayer, Guilfoyle was abruptly booted from Fox News’ The Five well before her contract was up after her former assistant filed a complaint alleging she “was frequently required to work at Guilfoyle’s New York apartment while the Fox host displayed herself naked, and was shown photographs of the genitalia of men with whom Guilfoyle had had sexual relations":...

Species Salix glauca (click here) or Gray Willow of Greenland.

A 15-year experiment on Arctic shrubs in Greenland (click here) lends new understanding to an enduring ecological puzzle: How do species with similar needs and life histories occur together at large scales while excluding each other at small scales? The answer to this question has important implications for how climate change might shift species' distributions across the globe.

The study was published today in the journal PNAS and led by the University of California, Davis. Its findings also reveal trends related to carbon sequestration and carbon exchange as the Arctic becomes both greener and browner....

This is the strength of character needed to end the assualt against women.

An undated family photo shows Leigh Corfman and her mother, Nancy Wells around 1979.

Leigh Corfman (click here) says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore.

It was early 1979 and Moore — now the Republican nominee in Alabama for a U.S. Senate seat — was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. He struck up a conversation, Corfman and her mother say, and offered to watch the girl while her mother went inside for a child custody hearing.

“He said, ‘Oh, you don’t want her to go in there and hear all that. I’ll stay out here with her,’ ” says Corfman’s mother, Nancy Wells, 71. “I thought, how nice for him to want to take care of my little girl.”...

Roy Moore was accused by at least five women. (click here) Roy Moore is a pedophile. Why aren't the accusations of all these women taken seriously to remove him from society and place him in prison where he belongs?

“No one will ever believe you,” Moore allegedly told her at 16.

A thriving coral reef (click here) community at Hotsarihie, Republic of Palau. A research team led by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution identified a detailed mechanism showing how ocean acidification affects coral skeletons—giving scientists a way to predict more precisely where corals will be more vulnerable. The study was published Jan. 29, 2018, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. (Hannah Barkley, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)

Before you begin reading this blog, (click here) I would like you to take a few seconds to reflect on the following questions: what does ‘ocean acidification’ mean to you? Do you consider that stressors such as marine plastic pollution need more urgent attention? How visible or invisible is ocean acidification in your life?

Most of the time when people hear about ‘ocean acidification’, the first thing that pops in their minds is climate change. Indeed, there is no denying that both of them are intertwined by the changing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. The ocean is an important carbon sink, absorbing almost a third of the CO2 emissions the Earth produces . Though it helps to reduce the concentration of this gas in the atmosphere, the dissolution of CO2 in the water can make it more acidic. Ocean acidification (OA) is often framed as a symptom of climate change rather than an on-going and concerning threat to the marine ecosystems. Despite the warning from scientists regarding its alarming effects, OA has not been highlighted as an important issue in the political-agenda of governments worldwide.

Why does it seem that ‘OA’ is not a top priority?...

This level of oppression of women is what every woman does not want to return.

No one can speak for Ms. Carroll, but, it is my estimation she didn't report this to the police when it occurred because the charges would have been scoffed at and her life would have been ruined.

It took decades for her outing of Trump in sexual assault. Even today, when she openly described the outrageous attack on her by Donald John Trump, her employer rejected her. Amazing. Will victims of a crime, especially rape, ever be safe from "the backlash."

A US federal judge (click here) has dismissed an effort by the Department of Justice (DoJ) to defend President Donald Trump in a case brought by a woman who accuses him of raping her.

Columnist E Jean Carroll accuses Mr Trump of assaulting her in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s.

In a lawsuit, she argues the president defamed her when he denied her claim and said she was "totally lying".

The DoJ had sought to put itself in the dock as defendant, instead of Mr Trump.

Citing a law designed to protect federal employees from being sued over actions stemming from the performance of their duties, the department argued that he was serving in his capacity as president when he denied Ms Carroll's allegation....

It's Sunday Night

Kurt Cobain (click here) wanted to make a strong statement in support of women and against violence toward them. In his words, the song is a sort of poetic justice. A guy rapes a girl. He ends up in jail and is raped there. It's also believed that the song was in direct relation to his feeling of being raped by the media, in particular Vanity Fair and MTV.

The crime of rape (click here) generally refers to non-consensual sexual intercourse that is committed by physical force, threat of injury, or other duress.

Common law defined rape as unlawful intercourse by a man against a woman who is not his wife by force or threat and against her will. However, most states have refined and broadened the statutory definition of rape so that marriage, gender, and force are not relevant. The victim's lack of consent is the crucial element. A lack of consent can include the victim's inability, due to the effects of drugs or alcohol, to say "no."...

...The crime of statutory rape refers to sexual intercourse with a minor (someone below the age of consent). Minors who are below the age of consent cannot legally consent to having sex. This means that sex with them violates the law even if they signal their agreement.

Statutory rape laws vary by state, with states setting the age of consent differently. Many states punish statutory rape under laws addressing sexual assault, corruption of a minor, or carnal knowledge of a child. In more than half of the states, statutory rape is a felony only if one of the participants is at least several years older than the other; if the two people are extremely close in age, but one of them is underage, some states will not treat this as a crime or may treat it just as a misdemeanor. However, not all states have "close-in-age" laws....

The crime of rape (click here) is one of the most serious crimes in the books, and states universally punish this sex offense very harshly. However, there exist numerous variations between rape laws amongst the states. Please choose a state from the map or the list below for state-specific definitions and statutes for, including in depth overviews of select states' offenses, penalties, and more

I don't lie and I know what I am talking about. When I don't I say I don't.

March 5, 2021
By Mark Torregrossa

The Great Lakes (click here) aren’t in just a normal water decline mode. They are now going down faster than usual and putting some distance between current water levels and last year’s record water levels.

February saw water levels decline on all of the Great Lakes. This is a normal seasonal decline, plus more decline. Due to the lack of precipitation and lack of ice cover, some of the Great Lakes dropped even more than is usually expected in February. The forecast for March is also to continue the water level decline on each Great Lake.

Lake Superior’s water level fell 3 inches in February and is now 7 inches below this time last year. Going into summer, Lake Superior is expected to be 3 to 6 inches below last year and 9 inches below record water levels....

I and other media have complained, during the years of Trump, that the Great Lakes were unnaturally high. This article and the graphs prove The Lakes have been ridiculously high. The blue line was the normal lake levels.

Trump absolutely altered the heights of the lakes to provide for huge ships to move through them. The lakes were changing height during these years as much as 12 inches or more from day to day then falling the next day by the same amount or less. That rising and falling were due to DISPLACEMENT OF WATER by ships on the lakes. That is the only thing that can effect lake height that much from day to day. There is no natural phenomena that could explain drastic changes in lake levels at the Great Lakes.

The reason The Great Lakes lake levels are falling is that the Army Corp. of Engineers is finishing their ANNUAL work at the St. Lawrence River lock system. The St. Lawrence River System closes down in the wintertime and that is when the US Army Corp. conducts maintenance. The lock system does indeed effect the levels of The Great Lakes. The lakes are over 700 feet above sea level and the St Lawrence Seaway and the lock system can raise or lower lake levels.

The Trump Administration deliberately neglected the responsibility to the Great Lake States and Canada to allow quite possibly political donors to have their way and destroy beaches at the same time. I know I wrote and the letter is probably still sitting in the inbox on a desk no longer occupied by Seaway officials. The officials were probably furloughed or fired so the destruction and exploitation could take place.

Let this be a strong lesson to the American people regarding the person at the top of the USA government. Now, rather than regulation simply taking care of everyone that uses the Seaway for commerce and for those that have beach property for either private or commercial use; legislation is in order to prevent such mischief. Trump has caused millions if not billions of dollars of damage to the lakes and their beaches. There now has to be a great deal of money spent to replenish the beaches and reevaluate the problems with invasive species including those that were never supposed to breach the Chicago gateways that were to control them.

The damage done to the USA during the Trump years doesn't end with COVID-19.

Congratulations to the US Democratic Senators

The Rescue Plan is necessary for the people. It is a concern that the US Senate is so partisan. This is one of the worst moments in modern US history and the spirit of bipartisanship is dead.

The Republicans will oppose any further movement on every legislative initiative by the Democrats. It is time to end the filibuster. The 60 vote requirement is hurting our democracy. We cannot afford any more impingement on the US democracy. There needs to be a priority on the people and not continued obstruction that leads to assault on the USA Constitution.

If the vote was done right now and Manchin abstained it would be 49-49 and the President of the Senate would then decide.

There was a highly visible police profile in the country on March 4th. It worked. Well done.

Typical Republican Rhetoric, Name Calling Not Allowed Unless it is Trump

The Neanderthal comment sparked remarks by Republican pundits without looking at the substance behind it. That brings to mind a quandary as to whether Republicans actually understand the substance behind the comment.

I can only imagine the frustration the President has in trying to save every American life from SARS-CoV-2 and have Republicans attempting to open the very citizens that elected them to danger by removing protective measures.

The Republicans are Neanderthals with regress reaction in being personally insulted rather than grasping the urgent need to reverse the actions of Republicans that don’t care about their own people.

Neanderthals would seek to pummel anything they didn’t understand. The Neanderthals of today use nonsense and distraction rather than a club. Do they actually want to regress to the USA under Trump that disregards all precautions to prevent COVID-19 and have infections and death escalate again? Isn’t it enough to know the Trump strategy killed more than a half-million Americans? Isn’t that enough deaths for the political right wingers? Certainly they understand at least that much.

A generation of deadly leaders.

The USA military did magnificent in Afghanistan when the USA was about to invade. Some villagers met our soldiers with donkeys to assist their arrival. The reason we were welcome in a country without television was because of food drops accompanied with messaging.

Brazil needs food and medical drops including MASKS and how to effectively wear them. There are activist groups among those that live in the Amazon. They can be educated to protect the people as well.

Children in Brazil need to be taught how to use the masks and how they can help each be healthy by making sure their friends and families use the masks. The children should know they are more safe with the masks. They can even decorate them with faith images or their favorite imaginary characters.

The leadership in Brazil are not only incapable of leadership but hate the people that are dying. Call it racism if you like, but, the leadership is using the virus as a weapon against people they hate. We saw this with Trump.

The leadership in Brazil is arresting journalists which was the saving grace in the USA. THEREFORE, help for the people will have to come from the outside.

This effort must go forward. No one should be interfering, including Russia in Venezuela.

These actions are necessary for national security interests as well as the well being of allies. Currently Brazil has some of the most deadly strains of virus mutations, also called variants. It is necessary for Brazil to bring their virus escalations under control. Therefore, the world has an interest in the best outcomes of the Brazilian people as well as other countries with increasing danger to the well being of the human race.

 Moving Day.

Be back this evening.

The vaccines...

...may prove to be of value in another way besides preventing infection.

Currently, there are victims of the SARS-CoV-2 that are experiencing lingering effects even after they win the fight and survived the infection. These victims will have to be followed as to their wellness in regards to the protection provided by the vaccines. In other words, are vaccine recipients immune to the lingering effects once they have recovered from any exposure?

Defeating the lingering effects of exposure to the virus and the variants is just as important to surviving and being immune to end any disability produced by exposure. It is my estimate the vaccines will prevent the long term effects of cell damage. If body cells are protected or at least minimized from invasion by the vaccines the long term effects will end or be diminished.

There are additional vaccines in the pipeline, too.

It isn't as though H1B Visa holders aren't needed at home as well.

Not every viral mutant is a threat to life, but, some are and need to be contained as early as possible. The containment of these variants needs to be reviewed to tighten up their discovery and containment.

March 4, 2021

A study from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) (click here) has identified multiple mutations and unique proteins in isolates of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.

The recent study, published in the Journal of Proteome Research, has also shown that the host produces several proteins of their own as their body launches an immunological defence in response to the viral attack, the Bengaluru-based IISc said in a statement on Thursday.

To better understand how the virus is mutating and its protein biology (proteins are made using genetic information), an IISc team led by Utpal Tatu, Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, has carried out a comprehensive proteo-genomic investigation a series of analyses of SARS-CoV-2 isolates. The isolates or viral samples were recovered from nasal secretions of consenting Covid-19 positive individuals here. The genomic analysis was done using what molecular biologists like Tatu call next generation sequencing (NGS), a technology that allows for rapid sequencing of the entire genome....

I think this Republican US House legislation needs to be included with immigration reform.

This article appears in Indian news media. The H1-B visa was never written to cause the loss of American employment. This is not about companies that are downsizing due to the virus, this is about employers that literally look to replace their well paid American workers with people from other countries and paid far less than their American counterparts.

The Democratic House Majority should be seeking out priorities of their Republican members to make legislation bipartisan and this bill is an easy "Yes" vote across the bipartisan members.

The necessity for this bill is absolute proof of the draconian nature of the private industry and their CEOs' inappropriate use of generous American policy. In addition to the priority of this bill to maintain American employment over that of their foreign counterparts, a clause needs to include the demand to keep American workers over those with an H1-B Visa if the company downsizes for any reason.

Keeping American workers employed should be the priority of all elected officials at all levels of government. Protecting Americans from loss of employment over foreign workers is NOT RACISM. These programs exist to assist American employers that cannot find American employees to fill their professional requirements. It is not to bring more minorities into the USA. Upholding the dignity and importance of American workers also includes the American minority status as well. Minority Americans are protected under this bill as well.

Methods to eliminate American workers from employment for cheaper labor is simply wrong. This is only one of the methods that threaten Americans in the labor market. It might be necessary for foreign workers on H1B Visas to return to their homelands as they should not be included in the $1.9 trillion support bill before Congress now. That is not racism, it is practical for returning Americans to find work again. Any foreign workers on the H1B Visa should have the understanding they do not have the same status as American-born workers.

March 4, 2021

Three American lawmakers (click here) have introduced a legislation in the House of Representatives that stops employers from hiring foreign H-1B workers if they have recently, or plan to, furlough their US workers and requires employers to pay their H-1B workers more than their American workers.

Introduced by Republican Congressmen Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz and Lance Gooden the American Jobs First Act proposes to overhaul the H-1B visa program by making necessary changes in the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The H-1B visa, the most sought after among Indian IT professionals, is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. Technology companies depend on it to hire tens of thousands of ...

Three terms as Governor of New York is enough. The Fourth term doesn't look good.

March 2, 2021

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (click here) and then-girlfriend Sandra Lee in 2018.

The latest Emerson College/WPIX-TV/NewsNation poll of New York voters (click here) finds Governor Andrew Cuomo in a precarious position, with his job approval underwater at 38% approval/48% disapproval. His approval is lowest among those 18-34 (22% approval) and those who are white (26% approval) and highest among Black/African-Americans (62% approval) and those living in NYC (53% approval). Women approve of Cuomo at a higher rate (43% approval/40% disapproval) than men (56% disapproval to 33% approval).

In comparison, President Biden has a 52% approval/33% disapproval job rating, while 15% are unsure.

A majority (64%) of New York voters say that Governor Cuomo should not be reelected for a 4th term in 2022. Even Democrats are split on the issue, with only 52% saying Cuomo should serve another term, and 48% saying that it is time for someone new....

Governor Cuomo needs to be primaried. The unfortunate reports of sexual harassment are good reasons to end a career on a high note.

In New York State women are believed when they come forward to complain. There is definitely a culture surrounding the executive offices that make younger women upset. I am pleased there is an independent investigator (click here) taking on the complaints. I would have preferred a team of investigators, one man, and one woman.

Governor Cuomo is not under siege. He does not have to resign because the DNC is taking up the arguments of the women. I think the DNC demands for resignation are pre-mature. I will go over each of the three cases brought by women before I end this entry.

This was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York. It was the epicenter of the USA and the world. There were no places to put the bodies. The tragedy is yet to be fully understood.

As virus kills, (click here) NYC shortens the deadline for claiming the dead.

Nothing like some blood sport to oust a New York Governor. But, as to the nursing homes' tragedies. It was horrible even with the numbers reported to the public. "The Count" was astronomical the way it was. The virus was among the people of New York for longer than it should have been before discovery. The virus in New York came from Europe. The virus in Miami came from South America. None of those airports were closed as soon as jets coming from China to the West Coast.

At the time the death count started to escalate in New York there was also an uptick of heart attacks. It was very early on in the pandemic and the dangerous side effects of the virus were completely unknown. I don't know that what Governor Cuomo said to people working with him as proper, but, it was his manners to which people related and maintained a learning curve according to what he was reporting in his news conferences. I reject the idea that the news conferences were for political purposes. The conferences were necessary and quite frankly informative and well done.

Could better decisions have been made? One would think so, but, the information at the time was fogging and uncertain. There was absolutely no real leadership in DC that at one time thought drinking bleach was okay. Cuomo never said drinking bleach was okay. He stuck to the science and that was very good in real attempts to educate the people of this lousy virus now shutting down the country.

The issue with nursing homes was that people who recovered or recovering in hospital stays were "allowed" to return to the nursing home. At some level, there was denial about the danger of being reinfected. The details of the virus were not clear and the knowledge of the flu and America's familiarity with it was more or less driving decision-makers. There was absolutely no honesty coming out of Washington, DC. As a matter of fact, the Woodward interview exposed the facts that Trump knew a great deal about the virus and how dangerous it was, but, he refused to project lives. Actually, Trump was racking up human rights abuses with him cheering on people to not wear masks as a political wedge he believed would get him re-elected. We all know how that turned out.

Hindsight is always better, but, I can't honestly say Governor Cuomo was doing a lot wrong while the cases were skyrocketing. He did bend the curve in New York. He absolutely did and changed the trajectory of the virus and the lives it was destroying with every passing minute. He also bent the curve while Trump was working against him. There should be investigations into all the decision-making and it's process to correct any wayward outcomes and that is important. Until those reviews are complete and we know all the players in what occurred it is too early to say Cuomo is under seige.

Now, as to the ladies.

...Charlotte Bennett, (click here) a 25-year-old former aide to the governor, accused him of sexually harassing her last year, telling The New York Times that Mr. Cuomo, 63, had asked her about her sex life and whether she had ever had sex with older men.

Ms. Bennett, who left the administration in November, described one instance in which, when she was alone with the governor in his State Capitol office, Mr. Cuomo asked her if she thought age made a difference in romantic relationships, remarks she took as overtures to a sexual relationship.

“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Ms. Bennett told The Times. “And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job.”...

There is no reason for a woman with such responsible work to feel this way. Every working woman wants to be taken seriously and often when women are flirted with it drives them to other employment which in this case did not benefit the people of New York. Ms. Bennett is a professional and brings a great deal of insight to her work. She was doing an important job and Cuomo's flirtations were not appreciated.

Legally. In this case, there is little that can be proven. It is his word against hers. That was not the case with other men that used their power to find satisfaction in their sexual advances. I am sorry Ms. Bennett has a bad experience with the Governor, but, sexual harassment regulations actually do allow for "asking the first time." When the first advance is denied and then the man continues to bring his sexual desires to the woman's attention is it blatant sexual harassment and very different from sexual assault.

We live in a country of fairness and a man or woman can make their intentions known once and only once in hopes the other is as interested as he or she. It is the continued advances and/or escalation of pressure in a hostile work environment that brings into focus "sexual harassment." That is illegal.

Personally, I believe Ms. Bennett.

...Ms. Boylan, (on the left) who worked for the state’s economic development agency from 2015 to 2018, published
an essay on Wednesday in which she detailed several years of uncomfortable interactions with the governor.

Ms. Boylan, who said her boss at the time told her that Mr. Cuomo had a “crush” on her, said the governor went “out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs.” In October 2017, during a flight back from an event in Western New York, Ms. Boylan said Mr. Cuomo told her they should “play strip poker.” And in 2018, she said Mr. Cuomo gave her an unsolicited kiss after a one-on-one meeting in his Manhattan office.

“As I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips,” she wrote. “I was in shock, but I kept walking.”...

The last thing anyone is allowed to do in these cases is to put the responsibility on the woman. Cuomo was her superior and he obviously was attracted to her. I also believe the interactions surrounding sexuality between them were mixed messages. If a man thinks PERHAPS I made an impression on her, he will continue to bring attention to himself to win her approval. It is the way sexual attraction works.

In this case, Cuomo is wrong. New York has explicit laws about touching. It is aggressive to touch someone intentionally through mistaken clues or not as to the promise of a relationship. But, it was his obligation as her superior to put space there and allow her to do her work of which she was paid for by the people of New York.

There would have been nothing wrong if the Governor asked her out on a date. It would have made his intentions clear and would have brought about a clear understanding from her. Once she denied the invitation then it was over. There was no way Cuomo could continue to pursue her especially since she was an employee. Her empowerment to say no and have the understanding no means no is what is at the basis of her complaint about the Governor. She is correct and I believe her. Unfortunately, the Governor was not direct enough in his pursuit of her attentions and he got in trouble for it.

...Anna Ruch, 33, said she encountered Mr. Cuomo at a wedding they attended in September 2019 and they began talking about a toast the governor had given. But Mr. Cuomo then put his hand on her bare lower back, she said.

When she removed his hand with her own, the governor remarked that she seemed “aggressive” and placed his hands on her cheeks and asked if he could kiss her. Ms. Ruch said she pulled away as the governor drew closer.

“I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed,” said Ms. Ruch, whose recollection was corroborated by a friend, contemporaneous text messages and photographs from the event. “I turned my head away and didn’t have words in that moment.”...

This is not a direct work relationship, but, I understand that Ms. Ruch is active in politics and has worked in responsible jobs within the government. The idea Ms. Ruch works closely with political people is why, I believe, the DNC got involved in asking for Cuomo's resignation. This was in a casual setting and he was not there to give a speech. He gave a toast as a means of recognizing the newly married couple. The circumstances in private situations are more physical assault and different from work environments.
A hand on the back, be it bare or not, is not groping. However, there is a pattern not so much as assault, but, more or less of a guy that has little finesse with women his daughter's age. Cuomo could have been drinking as well. Perhaps not but that will come out in the report. The fact that once it was OBVIOUS his advances were not only unwanted but, being photographed he left Mr. Ruch and was not seen again by her.

I think there is a pattern of behavior that the Governor must address. He has a right to be attracted to young women. As a matter of fact, the American male is often known to throw off long-time loving relationships with a spouse his age for someone far younger. So, when it comes to being attracted to young women Cuomo is more normal than not according to acceptable American male standards and behaviors.

What I find unfortunate is that while he is chasing younger women he is missing a woman that might be a real soul mate and a relationship to sustain him in ways a purely physical attraction does not.

Governor Cuomo's behavior with all these women is inappropriate. He needs to address his behavior that seems unwanted on many and not just occasional instances. I think civil suits can be pursued, but, I don't know how successful they will be. MOSTLY, Governor Cuomo needs to take ownership of his actions when he is attracted to a woman and be far more direct than he is today. His lack of directness actually makes him appear to be creepy.

If I were to give him advice, I'd tell him to practice in a mirror his new direct approach of saying, "I would really like your company at dinner tonight," while naming the restaurant and accommodations to safely bring his date to that place of breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Dating should be fun. Don't expect a big payoff in bed after a date unless that is a mutual decision. None of these interactions with the Governor were fun for these women. Adults need to address their sexual life openly so there are no missed or confused signals. Respect is a big part of these actions. The women do not feel respected. There is no worse feeling than to feel as though a man, regardless of how pretty or sexy the dress is, has thought she was an easy target for his affections. The three women were disrespected and made to feel uncomfortable. The Governor is not conducting himself professionally. I don't believe any of his actions were criminal. Unfortunate, but, not criminal.

Typical Texas. "F--- it, this is too hard."

When the going gets tough, Texans say "F---- it!" We are Texas and we do what we want. That is why they are stuck pumping ancient energy sources. Texas borders should be closed to the rest of the country because they are going to be spreading SARS-CoV-2 and it's variants with abandon. When is the next Ho-Down?

Texas demoralizes the rest of the country.

With less than 7% of Texans (click here) fully vaccinated and another Covid-19 surge potentially imminent, Texas is flinging open businesses to full capacity while simultaneously ending its highly politicized mask mandate, the state’s governor, Greg Abbott, announced on Tuesday.

“It is now time to open Texas 100%,” a maskless Abbott declared to cheers at a crowded restaurant in the city of Lubbock.

When Abbott’s policy changes go into effect next week, Texas will be the most populous state in the country that does not require residents to wear masks. Restaurants and other businesses can choose to maintain their own mask policies, but without government backing to do so.

“We had a chance maybe by the end of the summer of getting a handle on this pandemic. This governor is just going to throw all of that out and put us back to the stone ages,” said Gilberto Hinojosa, the chair of the Texas Democratic party. “This is crazy.”

Other states and cities have likewise started rolling back precautions. In Mississippi – another Republican stronghold – Governor Tate Reeves also announced on Tuesday that the state was lifting rules for businesses and doing away with county mask mandates....

Mississippi's Republican Governor Tate Reeves wants to end the mask mandate. They are trying to scapegoat masks now because there is no effective leadership and there hasn't been.

This map of Mississippi is of the state's counties. The darker the blue color, the more cases, and deaths.

If this virus doesn't come under control it is due to the spineless Republican Governors.

Below is the Mississippi County, Coahoma. It has no mask mandate.

Below is Alcorn County. It does have a mask mandate.

The difference in cases and deaths is staggering between the two Mississippi counties. Mask Mandates work and when they are abandoned because "it isn't fun and makes for bad Republican politics," people get sick and die. There is also the issue of the prolonged viral disabilities that Mississippi will expect the other wealthier states to support.

The governors (click here) of Texas and Mississippi both announced on Tuesday they would be lifting their states' mask mandates and rolling back many of their Covid-19 health mandates, just one day after the CDC warned against complacency in the face of emerging coronavirus variants.

"It is now time to open Texas 100 percent," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Tuesday afternoon at Montelongo's Mexican Restaurant in Lubbock....

These governors are committing human rights abuses. They should be held accountable.

I heard the USA immigration system was gutted.

Trump is a man full of hate. Where is the money?

It is my understanding that destroying the USA government infrastructure is illegal, even if president. Those agencies were created by Congress through legislation and was funded through legislation by Congress.

The money is called the annual budget. Where is the money appropriated for our immigration agency?

Don’t tell me it went toward the wall because we already know the Defense Department had cuts to fund the wall. We also know the wall is not fully funded, too.

So. Once again I ask where is the money that was appropriated for USA immigration service? Where are the judges? Why aren’t immigration judges up in arms over the lack of funding and mass chaos in the courts?

What the devil has been going on? We know the ACLU and other immigration lawyers have been receiving hearings with some success. But, what good is that success without a government agency to process the paperwork?

Look, this isn’t that difficult to put back together. Ask immigration lawyers to notify the agency about their cases beginning with those that can be processed quickly. Do some hiring and until the staff is fully up and running offer a fee to any immigration lawyer that can put their clients paperwork including a temporary Green Card with the case number and judges name on it. It will be an interim process so use a different color green then normal so everyone knows the process needs completion  as soon as the agency is back to normal.

That will work. The USA immigration leadership right now needs to draw up very simple procedures for immigration lawyers to process their clients Green Cards and get them legally off to work. There are enough lawyers out there to help clear up this mess and they understand better than anyone what happened.

This abbreviate process with applicants without criminal records are especially important to The Dreamers.

Biden’s cabinet, while experts, have to rebuild the government infrastructure. I am sure the legal community is feeling the negligence and hatred of the Trump administration. There is an army of lawyers in this country. Let’s put the pieces back together. Fill in the void. The country and their clients will benefit when everyone is engaged and rowing in the same direction.

This is fun. We can put everything back together. We have all been presented a great opportunity. Let’s streamline and rebuild. We can do this.

As Every American will be grateful for a legal community that returns function while eliminating corruption. Don’t we want a perfect country that loves the future for generations to come? Now is the time to show it.
