The decision processes regarding relations between Israel and Iran has become unilateral between Trump and Netanyahu, rather than as a partner to other democratic powers. Europe will be effected by aggressive actions by Israel and has every right to be involved.

Israel is currently contemplating (click here) the possibility of a unilateral strike against Iran, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, and believes that U.S. President Donald Trump, unlike his predecessors George Bush or Barack Obama, is less likely to derail its efforts.

No more surprises for people with a gun.
When the police arrive at a domestic scene most people recognize them as police. ATF, CIA and FBI wear shirts that say who they are. They knock loud and identify themselves before entering. Maybe family members of gun toting members need to do the same thing. Wear a shirt on arrival that says "DAUGHTER" front and back on the shirt. Knock loudly and forget the "surprise, I'm home."

A woman shot her 18-year-old daughter (click here) in her home after she came back from college to surprise her, according to reports. The daughter is recovering after she was shot in the arm in Girard, Ohio, on the evening of August 30.
Police said the mother was alone in the bedroom when she heard noises from inside the house. The mother became startled as she was not expecting anyone to come over. The mother said she then saw someone running into the bedroom, at which point she fired her .38 special handgun, hitting her daughter once.
Police say they were called at around 9 p.m. to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue by the victim's boyfriend. A transcript of the 911 call made by the boyfriend, obtained by WFMJ, has him describing the 18-year-old's injuries to the dispatcher.
"My girlfriend just came home from college and her mom didn't know, like honestly—she accidentally shot her and we don't know what to do," he said. "It's pretty bad."...
If tariffs are bad enough, now shipping is becoming a problem.

The United States (click here) on Wednesday sanctioned a sprawling network of firms, ships and individuals allegedly directed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that supplied Syria with oil worth tens of millions of dollars in a breach of U.S. sanctions.
The individuals included a former Iranian oil minister and his son, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement. Also hit were subsidiaries of an Indian firm with an interest in the Adrian Darya, the Iranian tanker that has been cruising the Mediterranean since its release from detention by authorities in Gibraltar in July, it said.
The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control action froze any assets in the United States of the designated entities and generally prohibited any U.S. citizens or companies from doing business with them....

Moscow Mitch McConnell is pathetic. He is lost to the demands of Trump. He has no interest in the citizens of the USA.
The US Senate has no leader. The US Senate is an autonomous governing body under the US Constitution. There is not supposed to be collusion with the President on laws it passes. Moscow Mitch isn't interested in a Senate majority to override a veto. He surrendered to Trump and Russia a long time ago.

In January, (click here) as the Senate debated whether to permit the Trump administration to lift sanctions on Russia’s largest aluminum producer, two men with millions of dollars riding on the outcome met for dinner at a restaurant in Zurich.
On one side of the table sat the head of sales for Rusal, the Russian aluminum producer that would benefit most immediately from a favorable Senate vote. The U.S. government had imposed sanctions on Rusal as part of a campaign to punish Russia for “malign activity around the globe,” including attempts to sway the 2016 presidential election.
On the other side sat Craig Bouchard, an American entrepreneur who had gained favor with officials in Kentucky, the home state of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Bouchard was trying to build the first new aluminum-rolling mill in the United States in nearly four decades, in a corner of northeastern Kentucky ravaged by job losses and the opioid epidemic — a project that stood to benefit enormously if Rusal were able to get involved.
But the timing of their meeting shows how much a major venture in McConnell’s home state had riding on the Democratic-backed effort in January to keep sanctions in place.
By the next day, McConnell had successfully blocked the bill, despite the defection of 11 Republicans....
No matter how it is looked at that is CORRUPTION at the highest levels of government. Moscow Mitch McConnell is not capable of leading.

Santa Barbara - A broken-hearted mother (click here) posted on her Facebook page Tuesday that her three daughters, their father and his wife were among those presumed dead after flames engulfed a dive boat off Southern California over the holiday weekend.
Susana Rosas of Stockton, California, thanked people for their prayers and support.
The family of five, celebrating a birthday with an activity they enjoyed, was among 34 people presumed dead in the blaze. All were sleeping below deck when the fire started early Monday.
Other victims included students from a Northern California charter school serving grades 7-12, a high school science teacher and his daughter, an Arizona couple and a marine biologist who owned the diving company and was leading the tour.
Five crew members were rescued, and the bodies of 20 victims have been recovered so far. Many need to be identified by DNA analysis, and officials are collecting samples from family members....

News of Hurricane Dorian’s first casualty (click here) came early on Monday morning from the Bahamas Press. A seven-year old boy named Lachino Mcintosh drowned as his family attempted to find safer ground than their home on the Abaco islands. Dorian is reportedly the strongest hurricane to have ever hit the Bahamas and the second most powerful Atlantic storm on record. Five deaths have been reported so far, and more are likely. The Bahamian MP and minister of foreign affairs, the Honorable Darren Henfield, offered a bleak update form the area he represents to reporters: “We have reports of casualties, we have reports of bodies being seen.”
Rising temperatures don’t make hurricanes more frequent, but they do help make them more devastating. Each of the last five years have seen Category 5 storms pass through the Atlantic, brewed over hotter than usual waters. How many more people have to die before political leaders treat climate change like the global catastrophe it is?...
Mr. Anthony Basco's loss is more than many people can accept.
He is elderly, poor and alone. He was gracious in the face of the loss of his wife. He and his wife were probably dependent on their income together. He needs a great deal of support. She is gone and also any financial support she may have brought. Her loss should have never happened.
This is a start by Walmart. The USA has a long way to go to protect the lives of its citizens from gun violence.

New York - Walmart (click here) on Tuesday announced it will reduce its gun and ammunition sales, one month after more than 20 people were killed in a mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. Walmart also pressured Congress to enact gun safety measures.
The company, America's largest retailer, said it will stop selling handgun ammunition and ammunition for short-barrel rifles after selling all of its current inventory. Walmart (WMT) will also stop selling handguns in Alaska, the only state where it still sells handguns. And Walmart will request that customers no longer openly carry guns into its 4,700 US stores, or its Sam's Club stores, in states that allow open carry.
However, Walmart will continue to sell long barrel deer rifles and shotguns and much of the ammunition for those guns. Walmart will also continue to allow concealed carry by customers with permits in its stores.
In a memo to employees on Tuesday, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said Walmart's changes were prompted by the El Paso, Texas, shooting, as well as recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and Midland and Odessa, Texas.
Trump Hotels are luxury hotels. There is no reason for any government official at any level to carry out such expenses. Whatever happened to the other hotel chains such as Choice Hotels, Ramada, Hilton and their economic level hotels such as Hampton Inn which is usually $100 per night. There are a myriad of hotel chains that deserve the attention of the government.
Trump Hotels are far to expensive and often "exclusive." I don't believe Vice President Pence is a member of any Trump property.
Expect the reality of Puerto Rico after Maria and worse.
There are reports of a storm surge covering two stories of homes and buildings. People were on their rooftops to evade the flooding. That is up to a 40 foot storm surge. Be prepared, it is going to a horrific scene when the water recedes.

Decades ago the USDA approved the dumping of arsenic as a "agricultural enhancement."
The public land where the retired David Beckham hopes to build his soccer stadium is highly polluted with arsenic. Miami needs to step up and remove all the contaminated land.
The public park can be rehabilitated. It will require removing ALL the contaminated soil and replacing it with CLEAN soil before construction can begin. I wish Mr. Beckham great success with his ambitions.

The proposed site for a Major League Soccer stadium and mall in Miami is far more toxic than previously expected, with arsenic contamination levels reaching more than twice the legal limit and surface-level soil samples containing debris that poses a “physical hazard.”
A new environmental analysis has shed more light on the large extent of the environmental problems in the dirt at Melreese golf course, Miami’s only city-owned golf course and the potential site for a sprawling $1 billion commercial and stadium complex that would serve as the venue for home games played by David Beckham’s MLS team, Inter Miami....
The public park can be rehabilitated. It will require removing ALL the contaminated soil and replacing it with CLEAN soil before construction can begin. I wish Mr. Beckham great success with his ambitions.

The USA is a consumer economy. It is losing it's consumers.
How many people in Texas cannot even afford the required firearms, ammunition and time at the shooting gallery?
How many families lost their main support of their household, not to mention emotional and spiritual support to the family? Yet, those aspects of living aren't even addressed by Texas.
We have recently witnessed the ruthlessness of a highly respected drug company. People died to benefit the profits of Johnson and Johnson. A lot of people died for those profits. What is so different about the gun industry?

Beach erosion can only be reversed by beach replenishment.
What is occurring with Hurricane Dorian is the removal of sand from the beach. The sand has to go somewhere and it is deposited offshore in deep water in the ocean. The sand deposits are normally irretrievable. What occurs when recovery from the hurricane takes place is beach renourishment/replenishment. It is probably classified as "construction, but, it is done with sand. It is somewhat complicated, especially when contending with an ocean, but, there are methods that literally put the beach back in place. It is also very expensive to these communities. But, they value tourism and their residents, so the price is paid. Let's face it, the next hurricane will at least have a beach to erode rather than making landmass disappear and ultimately causing a change in geography.
There are measures to prevent beach erosion such as planting beach grasses and placing snow fencing to prevent loss of the dunes. The dunes sincerely do protect the beach and help reduce loss.
Beach erosion (click here) occurs when waves and currents remove sand from the beach system. The loss of sand causes the beach to become narrower and lower in elevation (Figure 1). Storm waves carry the sand offshore, depositing and storing the sediment in large sandbars. In weeks and months following the storm, the sand is returned to the beach by calm-weather waves. Because many states rely on beach-related tourism as a major source of revenue, beach erosion has become a serious concern for coastal counties throughout the United States. Beach erosion also threatens coastal properties and infrastructure, such as roads, homes, and businesses. A series of storms can cause significant retreat of the shoreline, leaving coastal property more vulnerable to future storms (Figure 2).
I did compare the map to others and it looks reasonable. Basically, Dorian is a very powerful storm with a dominance of air movement throughout the Gulf of Mexico as well. The land temperature is completely compensated from the colder air and has returned to high temperatures again.
Dorian has stalled and harnessed the entire air mass over the Gulf of Mexico; ie: this map in motion at link above. There is plenty of fuel and nothing countering it. The Gulf is hot. The air is circulating across the Gulf and a portion is returning to Dorian's circulation.
People need to follow the recommendations of their local authorities. No exceptions. Stagnant hurricanes repeatedly assault infrastructure, over and over with their winds, rains and flooding. Infrastructure is not predictable with such forces acting on it. Listen to the local authorities. No one can predict how long stressed infrastructure will sustain it's usefulness.
Depending on the heat of the air; the colder air would cool that air unevenly. A city is hotter than a grassy field. The same cold air would pass over both and cause a different fall in temperature. It would not be uniform throughout.
I hadn't watched the Canadian air mass closely, but, since the hurricane wouldn't let it into the southeast it went into Mexico.
That is the way I see it at this point. There have been hurricanes into the Eastern Pacific that could also be cooling Mexico as well.

That front is there throughout all levels. It is most likely why it is stalled, but, with it moving east - southeast and questionably sending Dorian into the Gulf across Florida.
The warnings need to continue, but, at this point the path is still more than concerning. At least it is to me.

It is a holiday weekend. Everyone who can should be enjoying the parks and not reading about them.
This has been an incredibly turbulent couple of days. I have an entry that was supposed to be posted on Friday at 8:30 pm. It is the Flint entry. I didn't put in up because the country was focusing on this horrible hurricane. I went to post it on Saturday and put the television on and I was staring at dead Americans. I will post the Flint entry this coming Friday. Promise.

No one in Florida should be taking any chances. This storm is very powerful. It is churning very, very warm water. As soon as it loses power, it regains it again. The "eye" of the storm is very tight and not at all oscillating.

Sometimes what is overlooked with a storm like this is that the storm surge does not immediately recede because of the dense and RAPID rains. Torrential rains will MAINTAIN the storm surge level in coastal areas until the hurricane moves out.
Storms this strong also spawn whirlpools. There is no reason for people to stay in place, AT ALL.
"Inches of rain per minute" is a factor in maintaining flooding.
...Twelve to 24 inches of rain, and up to 30 inches in some areas, were expected in the northwestern Bahamas, which could lead to life-threatening flash floods, the center said. The Tourism Ministry said only certain parts of the northwestern Bahamas had conducted evacuation procedures, and it strongly advised visitors to leave.
Steven Strouss, a meteorologist for NBC News, said that since records began in the 1850s, the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama Island had never before been directly hit by a Category 5 storm.
Authorities pleaded with people in the region to seek safety.
"Homes, houses, structures can be replaced," Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said Saturday. "Lives cannot be replaced."...
That warm water extends the entire Florida Peninsula on both the east and west coast. That higher temperature water goes up to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. That very same water is fuel for this hurricane.
