The Commercialized Governor, former criminal, corporate executive and now Republican.

Floridans ask the question on one else seems to verbalize, "Why aren't the legislators taking pay cuts along with the public employees?"

...England, 55, (click title to entry - thank you) joined the suit because he was "ticked off," he said, arguing that state politicians unfairly balanced the budget on the backs of state workers. Those lawmakers ought to sacrifice more of their own state salary and benefits, England said, before they turn to the public employees who vote for them.
"My budget was already strapped," he said. "I have a 20-year-old son who lives with me and is going to school. Then you talk about a car, car insurance for two cars, then you've got the mortgage, utilities and groceries on top of it. The [3 percent cut] makes it an impossible situation."
England is a member of the Florida Service Employees International Union, which joined the lawsuit on Monday afternoon. The Police Benevolent Association filed a motion on Monday for a state correctional office and a sheriff's deputy in Orange County to join the suit as well.
In Hillsborough County, sheriff's employees are receiving a 3.25 percent salary increase to offset the mandatory pension contributions. Sheriff David Gee told the Tampa Tribune last week that his employees haven't received raises in years, and that the 3 percent cut would have affected both morale and quality of life...

I especially love that part.  Give with one hand and take with the other.  The .25 percent is even more interesting.  See, three percent increase would also increase the amount of the contributions to the pension fund and still cut into their salaries, so Scott upped the pay increase by a quarter of a percent to prevent any reduction in pay.

Amazing.  These guys are as crooked as the day is long.

The scardy-cat Governors give all kinds of incentives to law enforcement employees to continue to serve and protect rather than strike.  The same scenario or a version of it was noted in Wisconsin as well.  These Republican Governors are 'cookie-cutter' Governors regardless of the demographics.  Karl Rove is the architect after all, so it is safe to say the RNC and their cronies are now running the states with Republican Governors that redraw political districts.

The IDF should be sensitive to the Flotilla into Gaza. These confrontations are all the more reason for a peace settlement.

The participants are in 'survival' mode and have prepared to be boarded and removed from the ship by force.

Social activist Stephan Corriveau (click title to entry - thank you) warned all of us due to set sail on the Canadian ship dubbed the Tahrir - one of the boats participating in the upcoming Gaza flotilla - that we would have no opportunity to bathe during the three-day journey to Gaza but would have drinking water. There was no point in bringing a change of clothes, the Montreal-based Corriveau noted, because there would be nowhere to change, encouraging us to take as little as possible. In the best case scenario, we will make it to Gaza and can buy some clothing there, he said....

Israeli troops have a website to personalize their experience and focus.  See the video below.  The Israel website is called "Friend Soldier."  In the Middle East the soldiers have become allies to the citizens.  No doubt there are Israeli soldiers seeking to make it known they are no different.

Incineration does not destroy metals or reduce radioactivity of wastes. Radioactive waste incinerators, when equipped with well-maintained, high efficiency filters, can capture all but a small fraction of the radioactive isotopes and metals fed into them. The fraction that does escape, however, tends to be in the form of small particles that are more readily absorbed by living organisms than larger particles.
Incinerators, like many combustion devices such as automobile engines, convert combustible materials mainly to carbon dioxide and water (steam). But they generally also create toxic by-products, known as "products of incomplete combustion" or (PICs). PICs can be more toxic per unit weight than the original wastes. The total quantity and toxicity of PICs from incinerators is highly uncertain(1). The most widely-studied toxic PICs are known as dioxins....

One might recall the Moscow Wildfires that are reported to have killed 50,000 people.  The picture above and the article below explore the possibility of radioactive incineration of areas contaminated  by Chernobyl..

Fears have surfaced (click here) about the spread of radioactive material as Russian wildfires burn in areas contaminated by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. But experts say there is no significant nuclear health danger....

Anytime there is incineration of buildings or otherwise, no different than when the towers were destroyed on September 11, 2001, there is always dangers of particulate in the air and breathable contamination afterward.  In this case there are issues with plastics, computer components and radioactive materials.

Michelle Bachman is a real threat to the RNC.

That is the reason Perry is being promoted as the best candidate in the field.  It is to divide the Tea Party vote and insure Romney has the nomination.  The RNC is scared of Bachman actually winning the nomination.  Palin supported Perry when he was running for Governor of 'The Lone Star State."

I am traveling until Thursday...

...so my online time will be intermittent.

I have a message for the Democrats and DNC.  They need to get their act together.

When I travel and visit with people as well as listening to conversations in coffee shops I am hearing more 'myth' about the economy than fact.

People actually believe Rick Perry's Texas has a 4% unemployment rate.  When I point to the error, they actually get defensive as if they have the truth and I don't.  The people being indoctrinated into 'the hope' of Perry are completely convinced 'he has it right.'

Not only that...

...but their is no 'real image' of public employees.  Their unions need to promote their members by putting ads into the media, both visual and audio, 'highlighting' the work they do for everyone everyday.  The unions have to make the public understand whom exactly they are employing, including the understanding they are their neighbors, they clear their roadways, the deliver valueable services everyday in their parks, they patrol their streets, they save their lives when fire is the problem, and that their tax dollars support some of the most sophisticated hospitals in the country.

The Democrats and Unions are far to humble in expecting the public to understand their value.

GET OUT THERE !!!!!!!!!!

The State's case is falling apart, isn't it?

That might happen because they counted heavily on a dysfunctional family interested in protecting themselves.

What is it the brother said, "...I wasn't allowed to be a part of it..." when he spoke of his sister's pregnancy.

What does it mean when there is such tight control of family members when they are not allowed to be spontaneous?  Involved?  And loving?

Cindy Anthony: Caylee Could Climb into Pool Without Help (click title to entry - thank you)

By IBTimes Staff Reporter
June 24, 2011 1:54 PM EDT

Attorneys defending Casey Anthony Friday showed what they hope will be a compelling fact when jurors deliberate: photos of 2-year-old Caylee climbing a ladder into the family's swimming pool.
The photos also showed the toddler's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, supporting her from behind, USAToday reported Friday. However, Cindy Anthony later testified that "she [Casey] could climb into the pool by herself," adding that they swam together daily, People.com reported Friday. The defense hopes the photos strengthen their case that Caylee drowned and was not murdered....

The reason the case against Casey Anthony isn't holding up is because it was fabricated from circumstantial evidence.  The State doesn't know what killed that child and they do not have the TRUTH.  The truth is the only case that will hold up.

If the Republicans cannot commit to raising taxes on the wealthy while cutting services to the country...

In the Twenty-nine months President Obama has been in office he has accomplished a great deal.

He has brought troops home from Iraq as he has promised.  He will have brought home all the troops from Iraq by the end of the year.

He has killed Osama bin Laden.  A feat others have stated was impossible.  For President Obama it was not only possible, it was a priority.

He is deliberate in all he does and ending the troop involvement in Afghanistan-Pakistan is no different.  We do have allies there, including Turkey and India we cannot simply ignore and hope for the best.

But, more than ending wars and killing terrorists, he has accomplished instilling a 'secure place for democracy' in the region.   The Arab Spring is as much a part of our leaving as the troops coming home.  The paradigm of oppression and war is ending in this part of the world.  It is happening without retaliation or escalation of USA commitment of troops, hardware or investment.

President Obama has encouraged a secure place for democracy and ended the demands of people to change their governments and to do so violently.  Al Qaeda has been defeated from wars, but also by changing the landscape to end the violence preached by so many.

The USA involvement of military in overseas areas of the world is much different than it was 29 months ago.  President Obama has committed the USA on a path to peace and averted hostilities to provide the opportunity for peace and trust to begin to take hold.

I am not going to paint simply a rosey picture as instability is still everywhere with nation's such as Syria, Libya and Yemen.  Bloodshed occurs there nearly everyday, but, it is not at the hands of USA troops.  War is not going to change things there, but, only give rise to greater losses of life as we have witnessed in Iraq.  Keeping vigilance and working with allies in supporting changes the people of these nations demand is the best venue for the USA.  It is the best venue for any nation.  Escalation of any war will only result in more of the same and not less.

President Obama is limiting the involvement in war by the USA as he returns attention to the domestic needs of our nation and economy.

I want every troop in harms way home now.  That is my sincere wish, but, my President is still a great man with insight I have to respect and admire.

The wars are ending.  They are not forever.  We have a President we can trust.

The Commerce Department, FCC, FBI or someone want to investigate this mess that is growing now that Beck is leaving Fox.

He is beginning to remind me of the PTL scam with Jim Baker. He is claiming bankruptcy is eminent should they not get enough money for the "Restoring Courage" rally in Israel.

He has planned this big fanfare for his audience in Israel that is really a political rally to impact the politics of the USA, but, this is taking on the dynamics of a real "Con Man" event.  Quite frankly.

I don't like to talk about Beck because it fuels the 'double down' strategy that Talk Radio thrives on and also because he is illegitimate.  But, he is really bordering on if not already criminal in his content of his audience.

This isn't about raising the esteem of "Media Matters" but it is their story, sorta.

"Restoring Courage" In Jerusalem: Glenn Beck's Latest Self-Aggrandizing Spectacle (click here)

May 16, 2011 7:45 pm ET

by Todd Gregory

Glenn Beck announced today that he will hold a rally in Jerusalem in August, called "Restoring Courage" -- sticking with the theme of his Washington, D.C., rally last August, "Restoring Honor."...

This is a man that has his own media network that is either 'worth' something like $40 millioin or earns $40 million per year (which are really different kinds of beasts).  But, today in his radio program, after he has pumped eveyone up and sold tickets, T-shirts and whatever 'sports' paraphernalia he could; is stating he does not have the $7 million it is going to take to put on the event in Israel.  He is looking for money to keep him from bankruptcy so he states.  He said it and meant it.

The entire time I was listening to this 'gaff' of his audience, it reminded me of the PTL (Praise the Lord) scandal where people bought into an amusement park and when the time came to build it the money simply wasn't enough or not there or whatever it was that brought the investigators.

It may be that Beck is catching heat from Israel and religious sectors of the planet in regard to a political event taking place in Jerusalem that has nothing to do with the citizens of the region, but, if that is the case then it is a matter of returning money for refunded tickets and apologize to his audience.  He'll lose credibility, but, anyone that can't organize an event like this where participants are paying a lot of money just to 'be there' and 'travel' should lose credibility when they can't even raise the monies necessary to pay for it.  I am assuming the people planning to attend assume their costs and donations are helping pay for this.

He is a Con Man.  I just don't know how else to put this.  An event whereby a noble cause is involved isn't properly funded through loans and sponsorships while 'throwing a bone' to the audience for sympathy to rely on people feeling generous to pay for it?  That isn't a Con Man.

I sincerely believe Beck has become to desperate realizing he is leaving FOX and not having other options that he is too dangerous to continue to leave 'on the air' anywhere, including, Rush Radio.  Someone needs to do something, because, he is portraying himself as 'giving all he has' while 'rolling in dough.'  He is illegitimate right from the start and simply paraphrases 'populous' rhetoric such as "Plant my Flag," which he took from a comedian.

This isn't funny anymore.  He needs to be stopped from scaming millions from people he has sucked into believing he is a benevolent entity to 'a cause' which really is UNDEFINED.  The cause is undefined and/or self created by Beck to benefit Beck.

I don't like the way this looks. It is a continuous system from tropics to arctic.

Thunderstroms broke out immediately along the course of the turbulence which built quickly and only along the path of the vortex.

Tornado warnings rattle upper Midwest as storms hit (click here)

MINNEAPOLIS
Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:28pm EDT

(Reuters) - Tornado warnings were issued for parts of the Midwest on Tuesday night and the National Weather Service reported a possible tornado touchdown in a Minneapolis suburb that resulted in no injuries.
The renewed storm activity came less than a month after a massive tornado devastated Joplin, Missouri, and killed 155 people in the deadliest tornado to hit the United States in more than 60 years.
The National Weather Service said numerous rotating thunderstorms across central and southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin produced one report of a tornado. Warnings were issued for many areas, including the Chicago suburbs....

Welcome and the traverse of Sol southward.  The massive movement of the vortex north is mostly likely connected to the high angle of the sun today.  It warmed the northern airmass enough to make it more homogenous with the mid-latitude weather.  But, this 'connection' crosses three 'wind districts.'  It is hemispheric.  Like what?

Earth has six wind districts (that is what I call them), three in the southern hemisphere and three in the northern hemisphere.  This vortex 'system' crosses three of them in the northern hemisphere.

The National Weather Service issued the warning as a dangerous storm swept through several counties, including DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake and Will.
By 9:30 p.m., it appeared the storms were moving away from Chicago to the northeast.
Metra reported a “variety of delays and stops,” mostly because of high winds. At 9:30 p.m., “more than 10 trains” were stopped on all Metra tracks, said Metra spokesman Michael Gillis, who described delays as “extensive.”
An inbound train from Elgin to Chicago was stopped because of a tree that fell onto the tracks, Gillis said....

Former Ambassador Jon Huntsman is more than a 'return to sanity' candidate for Republicans. His rise to power is a familiar track, ask H. W. Bush.

The Former China Ambassador is a threat to many Republicans, including Jeb Bush.  He has credentials and his path to success follows that of another former President with limited insight to bring the American economy back from the brink, Former President George H. W. Bush was Nixon's Ambassador to China which was the beginnings of the Bush Dynasty in service to Wall Street.
The real question is, "Can Republicans win a primary by being sane and focused on the issues?"  I believe the former ambassador is a candidate set on proving it can be done.

I am voting for "The Rent is Too Damn High" party in 2012 because they have the right idea for the economy.

I could not be more serious.  What needs to occur is for the housing in the USA to be taken out of foreclosure with the banks and put back in the hands of the people, to rebuild neighborhoods and local economies and return prosperity and the American Dream.  It is the problem and will continue to be the problem until the banks in the USA are dealt with sufficiently to end their stranglehold on the USA economy.

Advertising agencies are now trying to attract tourists and sunbathers back to Tunisia's beaches and Roman ruins through a controversial billboard campaign that is stirring the pot in foreign capitals.
One billboard appearing on public buses in London features an image of a woman receiving a back massage with the accompanying text, "They say that in Tunisia some people receive heavy-handed treatment."
Another poster reportedly running in the campaign depicts the country's fabled Roman ruins next to the line: "They say Tunisia is nothing but ruins."

A very strange phenomena. The ash cloud of Chile’s Puyehue-Cordón Caulle Volcanic Complex it too high in the troposphere to dissipate.

This is an image of the erupting volcano in Chile on June 4, 2011.

...The brown ash plume (click title to entry - thank you) reaches high above the clouds, covering much of the scene, and casts a shadow towards the southeast. Along the leading edge of the plume, it appears that heavier material is falling out of the ash cloud, while finer particles remain suspended in the atmosphere....

What makes this odd, is that the ash plume is making its second traverse around the Earth while disrupting air traffic in Australia and New Zealand.  There simply aren't any winds and weather competing with it to dissipate the fine particles at such high elevations or 45,000 feet.

...Qantas and Jetstar flights from Sydney to New Zealand (click here) are being cancelled again following the return of a volcanic ash cloud created by the erupting Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano in Chile.
The volcanic ash cloud which disrupted flights last week has returned to Australian skies today and is expected over New Zealand from tomorrow....

And it seems as though the ash cloud is gaining altitude, now at 50.,000 feet and as of yet undisturbed.

...The CALIPSO satellite (click here) recorded the plume 15 kilometers (50,000 feet) above the Earth on the second day of the eruption, and the volcano continues to push ash into the atmosphere. At these high altitudes, the ash entered the jetstream and blew quickly eastward....

The trouble comes in as some of the cloud remains at 20,000 to 35,000 feet where flights commonly travel.

The upside is that it is providing some interesting skyscapes and some shade for the planet.  Odd though.  Don't know what caused that in the first place, except, a very high velocity eruption.

Holy smokes.  That blasted thing is scarey to look at.  Wow.

Casey Anthony Trial: Expert Says Official Autopsy Was 'Shoddy' (click title to entry - thank you)

By OLIVIA KATRANDJIAN

June 19, 2011

Two forensic experts testified over the weekend that 2-year-old Caylee Anthony was not necessarily suffocated by duct tape in the third day of the defense's case in the murder trial of Florida mother Casey Anthony.
Forensic expert Dr. Werner Spitz argued Saturday that the duct tape the prosecution claimed suffocated her was actually applied after her body had decomposed. He also claimed that the autopsy performed on the toddler was "shoddy," as Caylee's skull was not opened, so he conducted a second autopsy himself....

Was there anything about this case the State took seriously or was it simply trial by media?  I have not followed this case, except for hearing headlines and the like, I had no idea Casey lived at home with her parents until I had a conversation with someone today.

I want to know where she got the choloform.  This is some of the worst prosecution work I have ever witnessed.  I knew this trial was going to be a failure from the first day of the trial.  There is nothing that makes sense to any of the evidence presented.  There exists nothing but ‘doubt.’  Every place.  And now this.  An incomplete autopsy of a toddler.  Wow.

If Ms. Anthony is found guilty of anything, except, neglect of a child, I will have lost faith in the legal system.  There is no iron clad evidence anywhere.  There is a theory to the child’s death; theories are not enough to find guilt.  Dancing until dawn is not proof of guilt.

The movies of Casey and her daughter are not of a woman that hated the burden of motherhood.  They were of a mother entertaining and enjoying her child.  I have a lot of questions and no one, including the family has answered them to my satisfaction.  She may be found guilty, but, in appeal for all the holes in this case, it won't hold up to sincere scrutiny.  There has to be another party to this murder if indeed she is found guilty.  There is no way she could have acted alone and I have doubts she did it.

The testimony stating she had her car backed into the garage for two days was not a matter of her living in a home alone and having unusual activity.  Her family lived in that home while she backed her car into the garage.  It is all too suspicious.  It just is.

I don't want another "Curveball." I would think that would be the motivating factor to any changes the FBI and CIA make.

...Once an assessment has started, (click title to entry - thank you) agents will be permitted to conduct lie detector tests and search people’s trash as part of evaluating a potential informant. No factual basis for suspecting them of wrongdoing will be necessary....

The question is always have we gone too far or not far enough.  I sincerely doubt President Obama micromanages to this extent.  The House and Senate need to hold hearings to assign such 'liberties' to an intelligence organization with proper balance.

It seems to me if there are reasons for suspicion of activity to investigate, then do so.  But, liberal laws such as these can lead to impetus for 'opportunity' to exploit.  I don't know how lame the FBI has gotten, but, it would seem to me there has to be some expertise that goes along with surveillance that is meaningful and not simply wasting taxpayers money.

Give me a reason to believe this is something more than harassment of innocent citizens.  Mueller needs to have a dialogue with the American people about these changes so they can feel reassured this is all appropriate.  This is a limit.

In all honesty, when I read this editorial my first reaction was, "Doesn't the FBI know what they are doing?"  Because this tells me there is a lot of sloppy assessements to ask the citizens of this nation to actually tolerate this level of surveillance.  There is a lot of room for abuse, including political abuse in the "W"rong hands.  It isn't enough the Plutocracy of the USA has engineered a take over of Republican Governors for redistricting after the 2000 Census, but, to realize they have are the cronies to power in the Legislature and one time to the Executive Branch is unsettling.

I sincerely believe there needs to be more transparency that was promised to us with this administration and Mueller needs to have a news conference or find a way to ADEQUATELY communicate with this country to put all these changes into a contextual framework that doesn't resemble the beginnings of the SS.

But, the continual falling snow that is accompanied by arctic air masses keeping the upper USA cooler is closing the road closed though the center of the park.

WEST GLACIER - A twisting helix of snow arcs high into the sky above Glacier National Park and briefly obscures the dark features of iconic mountain peaks before scattering its frozen contents into the great white abyss below….
The Park Service Management and Personnel are doing a great job.  But, there is inherent danger to the current conditions.  Below is the page where 'current road conditions' are kept.

The section of the road (click here) between Avalanche and Jackson Glacier Overlook is closed due to plowing. For Saturday, hiker/biker access on the west side is to Packer's Roost, 6 miles past the vehicle closure. On Sunday there are no hiker/biker access restrictions. On the east side, there are no hiker/biker restrictions throughout the weekend. Visitors should use extreme caution when in avalanche areas and be knowledgeable of avalanche safety. Due to large amounts of snow in the park, there is a potential for the release of large scale avalanches...
But, there is more than concern for the opening of The Sun Road this year.  The continuing rain and snow adds to the volume of water in the Missouri River.  Below is the map of the river guages.  At this link, one can click on a particular point and read the graphs resulting from this monitoring (click here for link)
The flooding has become so profound that funding for research is being stopped at a time when it is needed most.  The people may very well be finding a new reality in this region and there is dearly little being analyzed.  The gauges are recording because they are mechanized, but, the assessments and opinions are lacking.  All the monies spent to modernize the guage system is being wasted for the lack of expertise reading them.  It is ridiculous.  These are vital services to people, cities and states as well as the federal government and the funding has been cut.

This would not be my first choice in funding cuts.

Seriously.

But this disaster is happening at a time when a weak economy and belt-tightening in Congress may limit the chance to do any studies.

John Cooper, the retired secretary of the state Game, Fish and Parks Department and an adviser to South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard on Missouri River issues, quickly can think of several things the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should study:...

The article below refers to previous flooding along this river system.  Often those reference points are regarded as a place fo find comfort in that we know the outcomes to such disasters.  That is not the way to look at ‘geophysics.’  The way I look at these events is not as a ‘solid predictable history’ but as what is the potential for more disaster and more dynamic changes as the warming becomes worse.  In other words, these events are ‘precursors’ to understanding a greater dynamic in the future as the parameters fo ‘heat effect’ continue to increase.

Don’t disregard the fact that Human Induced Global Warming has been altering the climate of Earth since the late eighteen hundreds.  It wasn’t until the 1960s that scientists sounded the alarm, but, that alarm was accompanied by a reality accumulating for over six decades of changed biotic content.  The alarm was correct and in plenty of time, it just wasn’t’ welcome by Wall Street.  Don’t ask me why, because, the carbon fuels are running out except for extreme extraction techique that provide immeasurable damage to the craton, the natural world and human beings.
The 1993 event was the first time there were numerous rain and snow events that contributed to it, other than just one or two.  There was a pattern of rain events that amounted to the 1993 event.  Hence, the continuing pattern today is very much the same only worse.
Among the reasons why: The 1952 flood resulted from an unusually heavy snowmelt upstream; the 1993 deluge was caused by days of lingering, intense rains. The floodwaters now spreading across western Iowa from Sioux City to Hamburg are a combination of both factors….

PERRY BEEMAN and REGINA ZILBERMINTS
Hamburg, Ia. - When it comes to flooding, Iowans have long memories. And with the Missouri River again bearing down on the state, disrupting lives and drenching newly planted fields, many can't help but recall the massive floods that battered western Iowa in 1952 and 1993.

This one, some say, could surpass them both before it ends later this summer.
The Republicans messed up this country beyond belief when their uncontrolled spending for eight years had no real purpose except to provide monuments and the like.  Those monies were vital, but, not in the way it was spent.
The waters from a swollen Missouri River doesn't stop with it's end.  The Missouri empties into the Mississippi River and is part of the Mississippi Watershed.  Everytime there is flooding there is added pollution from runoff and areas where contaminants are stored on land that now become part of the river.  The very last place I would cut funding is here.
