The Incompetents are 'at it' already

WHERE IS OSAMA BIN LADEN, GEORGIE ???

America Can't Ignore Al Qaeda's Resurgence (click here)
...External events aside, the preference of al Qaeda's leadership for Naji's approach over Suri's reflects a long-standing inclination for centralization. Osama bin Laden originally formed al Qaeda to keep the vanguard of jihad alive after the Soviet Union's defeat in Afghanistan. West Point's Combating Terrorism Center has translated a number of documents captured during the Afghan and Iraq campaigns that the Department of Defense has declassified from its Harmony Database. These documents depict a clear al Qaeda hierarchy dating back to bin Laden's residence in Sudan between 1992 to 1996....

Al-Qaeda Deputy Vows to Avenge Death of Afghanistan Commander (click here)
By Ed Johnson
Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Al-Qaeda deputy commander Ayman al- Zawahiri vowed to avenge the death of a commander fighting NATO- led forces in Afghanistan, according to a U.S.-based group that monitors extremist Web sites.
Zawahiri made the threat in a videotaped eulogy to Abu Laith al-Libi, who was killed in Pakistan's tribal region last month, according to a transcript e-mailed today by IntelCenter.
``No chief of ours has died a natural death. Nor has our blood been spilled without a response,'' Zawahiri said in the 10-minute recording released yesterday by al-Qaeda's media production group, as-Sahab....

Two Roadside Bombs Kill 8 in Eastern Afghanistan (click here)
By VOA News 26 February 2008
Afghan authorities say two separate roadside bombs in northeastern Paktika province bordering Pakistan have killed five Afghan policemen, two Polish soldiers and a child.
The authorities say the first bomb struck Tuesday morning near the city of Khost, killing five policemen and a child. Officials blamed the attack on the Taliban.
Hours later, a second blast near a Polish base in Sharana killed two Polish troops and wounded another one. Polish Defense Ministry says the troops were returning to the base after a humanitarian mission when one of the vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.
Poland has 1,200 soldiers in Afghanistan and plans to send 400 more later this year.
Taliban militants intensified their attacks on Afghan, NATO and U.S.-led security forces last year.
At least 6,000 people were killed in the violence last year, which was the deadliest since the Taliban were driven from power in 2001.

Brown in talks on 'hostage' video (click here)
A man saying he is Peter Moore appears in the video
'Hostage' video Prime Minister Gordon Brown has held talks with his Iraqi counterpart Nouri Maliki about a video apparently showing a Briton captured in Iraq.
The footage, aired on an Arabic TV channel, appears to show one of five captured Britons appealing to Mr Brown to help secure their freedom.
The man says in English: "My name is Peter Moore, I have been held here for nearly eight months now."
Downing Street said Mr Brown and Mr Maliki had spoken on the telephone.
In the footage, the man asks Mr Brown to free nine Iraqis in exchange for the release of the Britons, who were seized in May 2007...

The USA military creates it's own problems. When citizens die because the USA military is incompetent in its mission, the 'citizen' soldiers in Iraq see it as another Saddam issue and act ACCORDINGLY by launching retaliatory strikes against USA soldiers, which would seem to have their supplies delayed and therefore causing more American deaths.

We don't belong in Iraq !!!

We never did !!

The FIFTH year in Iraq will conclude on March 19, 2008. The American Dead will probably make it to 4000 by that day !

American War Dead since war began (3/19/03) : 3973

American War Wounded since war began : 29203

The latest American War Death was on February 25, 2008:
Spc. Kevin S. Mowl, 22, of Pittsford, N.Y., died Feb. 25 at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of wounds suffered in Baghdad, Iraq on Aug. 2, 2007, when the vehicle he was in encountered an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis Wash.

US troops kill man with broken arm (click here)
Updated 4 hours 10 minutes ago
US soldiers mistakenly shot dead a man with a broken arm after he ignored warnings and approached their patrol in the Iraqi city of Baquba, a US military spokesman said.
The incident occurred yesterday when a group of US soldiers who were on a patrol saw a man wearing a bulky jacket approach, Major Brad Leighton said.
"The soldiers fired a warning shot but he kept approaching. They then fired on him and killed him," he said.
The soldiers searched the man and discovered that underneath his jacket, he had a cast on one arm which made his clothing "look bulky."
"There was nothing suspicious found upon him but the incident is under investigation. It was a mistake... an unfortunate incident," he said.
Baquba has seen a series of suicide attacks against security forces and civilians.
The city is in Iraq's dangerous Diyala province - a known Al Qaeda in Iraq stronghold. US and Iraqi forces are currently involved in a massive crackdown in the province targeting Al Qaeda militants.

BAGHDAD, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- At least 25 Iraqis were killed or injured in separate incidents in Kirkuk and Mosel, security officials reported Wednesday.
A suicide bomber detonated explosives while riding a bus Tuesday in Mosul, killing 15 people and injuring six others, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Wednesday.
In Kirkuk, masked gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint, killing two and injuring two others.
Security forces in Baghdad told KUNA 12 Iraqis were kidnapped at a fake checkpoint set up by terrorists.
Iraqi security forces reported thwarting a terrorist attack on pilgrims visiting Shiite shrines. Acting on a tip, security forces raided an area west of Karabla, confiscating about 80 missiles apparently meant to be used against Shiites, KUNA reported.

THE BENCHMARKS ARE NOT BEING MET !!!

Does this 'sparing' duo care? NO !

How did Al Qaeda in Iraq form? Because of Bush's illegal war !

Is Osama bin Laden still alive and in control of al Qaeda's agenda? Yes !

Where is Osama bin Laden? In Pakistan and Afghanistan?

Where the USA military goes so goes al Qaeda. Hello????????

Iraq election call rejected
BAGHDAD: Iraq's presidential council rejected a plan for new provincial elections yesterday in a major blow to one of the key measures aimed at promoting national reconciliation among the country's Sunni and Shi'ite Arab communities and the large Kurdish minority.
The three-member panel, however, approved the 2008 budget and another law that provides limited amnesty to detainees in Iraqi custody. Those laws will take effect once they are published in the Justice Ministry gazette.
The White House tried to put the best face on the setback, saying "this is democracy at work."
Meanwhile, Turkey stepped up its offensive against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq yesterday and refused to set a pull-out timetable, despite a US warning that the incursion should last no more than "a week or two."
One of five Britons held hostage in Iraq since May was shown in a video aired by Al Arabiya television, which said the captive called for the release of nine Iraqis in return for their freedom.
"My name is Peter ... I have been held here for nearly eight months now," a man said on the undated video.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown spoke by telephone yesterday with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki following the release of the video.

Boycott the Academy Award Winners - A Open Letter to Michael Moore

Hi Mike,
I love you and your work. I thought the humanitarian message you gave in "SiCKO" was more profound a statement about the American Healthcare System than any message you ever could have delivered on that topic.

Look, Mike, you and I both know the Academy of Arts and Sciences is a political organization and that was never more evident than last night.

The entire "documentary" designation of the Academy Awards yesterday evening was a complete afront to anyone that would oppose the war. First, the troops in Iraq were rolled out to announce the nominees in the category of "Short Takes" of which most of those entries were anti-war themes. Tell me that was appropriate.

Then, the "Feature Documentaries" were announced by the one man that could sustain any criticism to his image, namely Tom "the man everyone loves" Hanks. Then, the winner was one that never was nominated before and followed a theme that would be 'acceptable' to the American culture no matter who wins the 2008 elections.
...continued below ...

The Winner of the Best Documentary Feature "Taxi to the Dark Side" was featured at The Traverse Film Festival. I saw this film.

While interesting, it ain't the quality of "SiCKO." It's time to stop placing films at the Academy of Arts and Sciences for competition.

...continued...

...continued - Open Letter to Michael Moore

It's time to stop giving the 'establishment' in DC the opportunity to take 'pot shots' at the Master.

The Academy of Arts and Sciences played it 'safe' AGAIN. They chose a film they felt was least politically offensive. Everyone is opposed to the torture regime in DC that Republican uphold as the ultimate in achievement for Neocons. It was the 'safe' road that the Academy chose as they always do. They opted for the 'Safe Road' when it came to Fahrenheit 911 as well.

The Academy rolls it's political dice and people profit. They literally have a 'which ever way the wind blows' application to their principles that exclude the American voice so much as the politically correct voice. There is no freedom of speech at the Academy of Arts and Sciences, there is simply 'surviving the day.'

While "Taxi to the Dark Side" was more than poignant and I support it's content and approach, it addresses human rights abuses at the extreme of the Bush Regime. At the other end of the extreme of the Bush Regime is the human rights abuses of the American Healthcare System and "SiCKO" did it brilliantly. The American People needed the endorsement of the Academy of Arts and Sciences last night, but, due to the favoring of Bush Cronies and it's lack of political will, 'The Academy' again fell short of it's moral obligation to support people it seeks as patrons.

Don't change your methodology one bit, Mike. We love you and count on you to bring home a message in an emotionally competent manner that reaches the conscience of every American that values their democracy.

Thanks for being the bravest of filmmakers. We need you. Perhaps, the first 'best step' to heal the void between The Academy and people that support American Values would be to make you at least a presenter. Charity begins at home and as "SiCKO" pointed out, the detainees at Gitmo received better healthcare than Americans that served at the destroyed World Trade Towers in New York City.

Best regards,
Elisa Barrett

Musharraf pushes Swiss to prosecute Zardari
Corruption case against PPP leader resurrected
Beleaguered president in bid to sink coalition talks
The battle for power in Pakistan took a fresh twist yesterday when the government reinvigorated a Swiss corruption case against the opposition leader Asif Zardari on the eve of post-election power sharing talks that threaten President Pervez Musharraf.
Government lawyers urged a court in Geneva to prosecute Zardari - whose Pakistan People's party won the most seats in Monday's election - on 10-year-old charges of stashing $55m in kickbacks in a Swiss bank account.
The move was seen as a pressure tactic against Zardari, the husband of the assassinated Benazir Bhutto, as he prepared to start negotiations later today for a coalition government with the second-placed opposition leader, Nawaz Sharif, who has campaigned to oust Musharraf.
Despite a massive anti-Musharraf factor in Pakistan's general election, the retired army chief rejected calls for his resignation from the presidency, indicating that he would serve out his five-year term of office. His staunch ally, the US, urged the opposition to work with him.
The Swiss case against Zardari stalled last year after Musharraf struck a "reconciliation" deal with Bhutto under which all corruption charges would be dropped. But since her assassination on December 27, and this week's election victory, all bets appear to be off....

Vicki Iseman in middle of McCain lobbyist scandal

Keating Five (click here)
The Keating Five (or Keating Five Scandal) refers to a Congressional scandal related to the collapse of most of the Savings and Loan institutions in the United States in the late 1980s.
Following the deregulation of the banking industry in the 1980s, savings and loan associations (also known as thrifts) were given the flexibility to invest their depositors' funds in commercial real estate. (Previously, they had been restricted to investing in residential real estate.) Many savings and loan associations began making risky investments. As a result, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the federal agency that regulates the industry, tried to clamp down on the trend. In so doing, however, the FHLBB clashed with the Reagan administration, whose policy was deregulation of many industries, including the thrift industry. The administration declined to submit budgets to Congress that would request more funding for the FHLBB's regulatory efforts....

Silvarado Savings and Loan (click here) - Once a Republican, always a Republican. It's the only way to stay out of jail. Republicans insure their constituency has enough 'assurance' that political control is the only way to "Stay Out of Jail Free." It's all a game called Monopoly.

...There are several ways in which the Bush family plays into the Savings and Loan scandal, which involves not only many members of the Bush family but also many other politicians that are still in office and still part of the Bush Jr. administration today. Jeb Bush, George Bush Sr., and his son Neil Bush have all been implicated in the Savings and Loan Scandal, which cost American tax payers over $1.4 TRILLION dollars (note that this is about one quarter of our national debt).
Between 1981 and 1989, when George Bush finally announced that there was a Savings and Loan Crisis to the world, the Reagan/Bush administration worked to cover up Savings and Loan problems by reducing the number and depth of examinations required of S&Ls as well as attacking political opponents who were sounding early alarms about the S&L industry. Industry insiders were aware of significant S&L problems as early 1986 that they felt would require a bailout. This information was kept from the media until after Bush had won the 1988 elections.
Jeb Bush defaulted on a $4.56 million loan from Broward Federal Savings in Sunrise, Florida. After federal regulators closed the S&L, the office building that Jeb used the $4.56 million to finance was reappraised by the regulators at $500,000, which Bush and his partners paid. The taxpayers had to pay back the remaining 4 million plus dollars.
Neil Bush was the most widely targeted member of the Bush family by the press in the S&L scandal. Neil became director of Silverado Savings and Loan at the age of 30 in 1985. Three years later the institution was belly up at a cost of $1.6 billion to tax payers to bail out....

For those that stop in regularly. Thank you. I want to let you in on how I've been spending my time.

To begin if you click on the title, you'll find an online petition to Save UNCW Forest. I invite everyone to sign it.

I'm involved in saving this very precious forest. It's been a busy week and we now have legal council. We are also finding corruption and it's not easy to deal with it in a City like Wilmington, North Carolina. There are a lot of folks that believe government officials don't lie and don't deceive, well the reality is that they do and in recent revelations by the press corp in Wilmington has revealed the Mayor, Bill Saffo has been making deals for a convention center with State University Funds.

These are the significant links involved in that discovery:

http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20080125/NEWS/801250425/1004/news01

and

http://www.wwaytv3.com/uncw_meeting_center_could_rival_citys_convention_center/01/2008

and

http://www.wwaytv3.com/saffo_proposed_uncw_conference_center_wont_compete_with_citys/01/2008

It would appear that the University's chancellor, Rosemary DePaolo has been planning a huge building campaign behind everyone's backs along with the Board of Trustees. The building of a HOTEL and a CONFERENCE CENTER on UNCW property was NOT in the 2005 Master Plan. The 2005 Master Plan is also deceptive in it's covert intention to eliminate the degree conferring capacity of the Biology and Environmental Studies Program by destroying a rare and pristine Long Leaf Pine Ecosystem, right there on campus. That ecosystem is studied by the students of that university and the administration has completely disregarded the fact the degrees conferred are related to the studies in that forest.

Amazing now lazy a corrupt administration can be, isn't it? But, the chancellor, Ms. Rosemary DePaolo is a Bush Conservative and typical of any Republican is corrupt and will rob you blind before you know it. Money, money, money. No matter the way they get it so long as they get it.

But, isn't been a somewhat interesting week around the globe, so I'll share some of my thoughts here with you.

It would seem as though Kenya has settled down a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if the potential is more 'latent' than anyone wants to believe. What I find more than odd is that as Kenya was settling down, Chad started to have problems. When one looks closely at the 'types' of assassinations of Kenya's leadership, it sort of looked like that of Bhutto.

I believe some of those behind the violence in Kenya simply picked up their weapons and plans and moved to Chad. I suppose the next stop is Somalia.

The British concluded their study of the Bhutto murders with the evidence allowed to them. The British investigation stated according to the x-rays they examined there was no bullet wound found in the Former Prime Minister Bhutto's skull. Hm. It's contrary to witnesses on the scene that stated they heard shots and saw her fall back into the vehicle before the blast went off. Another Warren Commission Report, it would seem that will go on and on forever.

Robert Gates has his nerve doesn't he? He isn't even involved in Afghanistan, has refused the USA Marines their wish to return to Afghanistan and then he challenges the Europeans who are sacrifying their blood and treasure that they are abandoning their posts through NATO deployment. Amazing. Canada went to Afghanistan to 'assist' as an ally in the NATO alliance the USA when we invaded Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. Bush abandons his post in Afghanistan and moves the USA forces into Iraq in an illegal invasion. The Canadians get tired of fighting the war the USA abandoned and in cooperation with the Europeans and now Gates feels he has the right to harass the Europeans because the numbers in NATO are falling with Canada leaving. Amazing the Gall the Bush Neocons have, isn't it?

Maybe Gates needs to stop his harassment of Europe and fight the war in Afghanistan that Bush abandoned in March of 2003, nearly five years ago !!!!

Iraq is still a mess. The suicide bombers are at work still. You know when Cheney went to Afghanistan the insurgents tried to kill him, Gates goes to Iraq and the people of Iraq get killed. That should tell him something ! Like the time it takes to look at himself in the mirror of the Baghdad Hilton at the USA Embassy in the Green Zone, it's been five years of an illegal USA occupation, maybe it's time to leave Iraq to the Iraqis. You think, maybe? Gates just doesn't 'get it.' They protest differently in Iraq. They kill each other.

You have to know it's time to leave Iraq when a single civilian, not ten, but one happens to stumble across six sleeping GIs and ends up dead only to have the American GI that killed the innocent Iraqi jailed for ten years for manslaughter.

Now, I know all the rationale for the GI shooting someone that startled them. But, that is not the issue. The issue is that it happened in the first place. As bizarre as it is for a startled GI to be charged with murder is enough and it's done completely for political reasons so the Shi'ite Leadership in Baghdad continues to tolerate Bush and Gates. But, the 'idea' that a single civilian would stumble across six sleeping GIs without causing any harm to them before that civilian was discovered and killed is simply outrageous.

Bush claims that Iraq is getting calmer. We all know it's because the Mahdi Army declared a 'cease fire' to facilitate Bush's understanding that they can indeed control their aggressions and Iraq can be a far calmer place if the USA would just leave. Then to realize, the GIs are asleep. Six of the them. Completely asleep only to be startled awake by a passing civilian, where do you think the Mahdi Army gets its impetus to be aggressive in the first place? This is hideous. If there were people so dangerous in Baghdad or Iraq that they needed GIs to protect them, those GIs if discovered asleep would never have the opportunity to kill again. Who's kidding who here? The American presence in Iraq, a country the size of Texas, has a huge military presence that creates it's own problems. When are Americans going to wake up to the fact they have been 'had' and do something about it before more Iraqis and their children are forced to realize the safest place for them are refugee camps where Iran sends humanitarian supplies?

Did you hear about this? Probably not if you're in the USA, they only talk about the political races. A ethnic Somalie woman tried to hijack a commuter plane in New Zealand. She's a New Zealand citizen. Sort of like those medical doctors in Britian that tried to attack the airport building. Remember them? You have to wonder who's pulling the strings here, don't you?

http://voanews.com/english/2008-02-08-voa8.cfm

I wish they'd annihilate Osama bin Laden already. I really wish they would.

You hear about the sink hole? I bet you didn't. There has been so much adverse weather, freezing, melting, run off that a sink hole developed under a major highway in Denver. Yeah, seriously.

http://www.komotv.com/news/national/15441526.html

Oh, too busy watching all the election news, huh? Look. Does it really matter? It would be nice to have a woman president or a black president and a wonderful victory for either of them, but, in reality what difference does it make who gets elected, the USA is in such bad condition economically there aren't going to be many choices. The USA has suffered terribly under the Bush/Cheney administration and the nation is a mess. It's priorities in the global community is all wrong. No matter who moves into the Executive Branch of the White House will find it difficult to continue the war or have any rational to expand it. If they try, the USA will find itself in a war to end it's capacity to make war and don't think for one minute the world's cannons aren't already prepared for that impetus. They are. I guarantee you they are and a 'Superpower that is a global threat' will receive fire power from every other nation on Earth, just to 'end it.' You know it's true. The persons elected to the Executive Branch and the Legislative Branch need to be huge pundits of peace and nothing else. I mean it.

You want to know how bizarre this is going to get once the general election gets started? I'll tell you. Ready?

There will be only two choices Americans will take seriously, unless Al Gore decides to throw his hat into the ring. But, the two choices are this.

A Republican that will promise to stop the carbon dioxide polluting ways of the USA, like the team of McCann and Lieberman, while continuing the war effort abroad. How bizarre is that? How much of a complete lie is that? A nation committed to stopping it's carbon dioxide as the largest polluter on Earth is going to continue to cause war which destroys biotic content and the military is a huge polluter of carbon dioxide. Huge. There is no such thing as a set of Neocons that believe they can stop carbon dixoide pollution. There just isn't.

The other choice is a Democrat committed to ending the war while setting the USA on a path of economic improvement through a new economy built on the manufacture of electric cars, new mass transit including government backed high speed magnetic rail to stop the carbon dioxide pollution of the USA to end Human Induced Global Warming and prevent human suffering on Earth.

Now, which agenda is more 'doable.' The Democrats agenda. Except to promise a new economy based in spending will make people think twice if it means a larger debt. Right? Well. If you stop killing people in Iraq, there will be monies for a well financed, government backed, return to sanity economic strategy for the USA.

Think about it.

It's time to take back the country.

Good night.

Judge Nixes Bush Bid to Keep Sonaring Whales Off Malibu Coast

LFAS / Active Sonar In the News (click here)
Active Sonar (including LFAS - Low Frequency Active Sonar) is a set of anti-submarine technologies which emit very loud pulses of sound into the ocean, and then listen for echoes in order to paint a snapshot picture of all objects within their range. Click here for an overview of Active Sonar....
The US Navy has stated that have "developed complex and costly measures to minimize risks to marine mammals" and that they "investigated the possiblity that there could be something in the structure of the LFA signal that posed a special risk for behavioral disruption in marine mammals." "Although some responses were measured, none of the responses indicated a potential for the disruption of biologically important activities." Click here for source...
However, the following articles document instances all over the world where whales have died on the same day that US and NATO Navy forces utilized active sonar nearby....

US judge rejects Bush's Navy sonar exemption
Posted Wed Feb 6, 2008 8:10am AEDT
A Los Angeles judge has rejected a decision by United States President George W Bush to allow the Navy to use sonar equipment accused of endangering marine life, saying there is no justification to override environmental laws.
In a 36-page opinion, US District Judge Florence Marie Cooper says the Navy must now abide by a previous order which outlawed the use of submarine-hunting sonar in areas off the coast of California known to be populated by whales.
Last month Mr Bush granted an exemption to the Navy, arguing sonar was vital for military preparedness exercises.

ZANZIBAR - Scientists are studying the remains of some of the 400 dolphins that washed up dead on a beach popular with tourists on the northern coast of Zanzibar.
Among other possibilities, marine biologists were examining whether U.S. Navy sonar threw the animals off course.
Villagers and fishermen on Saturday buried the remains of the roughly 400 bottlenose dolphins, which normally live in deep offshore waters but washed up Friday along a 2.5 mile stretch of coast in Tanzania's Indian Ocean archipelago....

Antarctica Surface Wind Satellite (click here for 24 hour loop)

The surface winds offer some interesting insight. The coastal areas are experiencing on shore winds with high velocity, while the winds at the top of the Blue Ice are moving off those higher altitudes and falling to lower latitudes mixing with those incoming heat transfers. This time however, as compared to the previous event whereby so much of the frigid aire of the top Blue Ice, which is far denser than the coastal, warmer air, moved to the right in this satellite photo and was pushed from a long standing area of East Antarctica; is different. This time the top altitude seems to have an 'equal' distribution of air movement in both directions from the Blue Ice which might very well indicate there is a loss of ice and a leveling of the top altitude Ice Mass. I find this air movement different than any previous and may be due to the changing shape of the Blue Ice due to sublimination.

Antarctica Jet Stream

In the satellite picture below, showing the entire southern hemisphere, it's obvious from that and the Jet Stream satellite above that the Antarctica Vortex is still reaching higher latitudes while chronically bringing in heat. At 8 PM in the image above a significant heat transfer is noted arriving to the Antarctica Ice Sheets. This while the center of the vortex remains consistently steady and primarily unaffected. That lends itself to a potential for a return to a deeper freeze, at least at the highest elevations of the Blue Ice.

Waters Rise Again in Flood-Torn Ohio (click here)
By JOHN SEEWER – 9 hours ago
FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) — Shandale Collins spent the past five months renovating his home after floodwaters destroyed nearly everything. Now he's wondering whether he'll have to do it all over again.
Rising waters lapped at his garage Wednesday and crept closer to his home and others in the city of about 40,000 along the Blanchard River.
It was another blow to residents and business owners who were just getting over August flooding that displaced hundreds and caused millions of dollars in damage.
"We had the place completely gutted," said Scott Adams, who was loading musical equipment from his downtown music store into a trailer to try to keep it dry. "I don't see fixing the place again."...

It's not just a moral issue. It's a survival issue. It must be interesting to be demised in the very vehicle that contributed to Earth's warming.

The tornado season of the USA is now continuous, it only gets worse from here. By the time the November 2008 elections roll around, there won't be anyone alive in the Red States of the country.

There were at least 135 tornadoes reported in the US in January 2008, of which at least 80 were confirmed.

Extensive tornado damage was common across many areas of the Midwest and Southern States in early January including in Kenosha County, Wisconsin (Courtesy of NWS Milwaukee)

F3
158-206 mph
Severe damage. Roofs and some walls torn off well-constructed houses; trains overturned; most trees in forest uprooted; heavy cars lifted off the ground and thrown.

F4
207-260 mph
Devastating damage. Well-constructed houses leveled; structures with weak foundations blown away some distance; cars thrown and large missiles generated.

F5
261-318 mph
Incredible damage. Strong frame houses leveled off foundations and swept away; automobile-sized missiles fly through the air in excess of 100 yards; trees debarked; incredible phenomena will occur.

They didn't have a chance unless they heard the roar of the F4 tornado about to destroy everything in it's path. There are reports of brick homes being leveled and causing death, being moved off their foundations? That is an F4 by any definition I know !

Global meltdown: scientists isolate areas most at risk of climate change
Experts assess point at which it is too late to act
Disastrous repercussions of warming are spelled out
Scientists have long agreed that climate change could have a profound impact on the planet; from melting ice sheets and withering rainforests, to flash floods and droughts.
Now a team of climate experts has ranked the most fragile and vulnerable regions on the planet, and warned they are in danger of sudden and catastrophic collapse before the end of the century.
In a comprehensive study published today, the scientists identify the nine areas that are in gravest danger of passing critical thresholds or "tipping points", beyond which they will not recover....

Bush proposes first $3 trillion budget

Joe Lieberman front and center to a McCain Campaign stop in Boston. Joe Lieberman, independant turned Neocon Republican will be hoping to be second on the ticket to McCain's nomination.

President Bush speaks on the state of the economy to employees at Hallmark Cards, Inc., Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Kansas City, Mo. Bush wants to cut funding for teaching hospitals and freeze medical research in a $3 trillion budget for 2009 that is still likely to generate a record deficit once war costs are tallied up. The Bush budget to be submitted Monday would cut the budget for the Health and Human Services Department by $2 billion, or 3 percent. By contrast, the Pentagon would get a $35 billion increase to $515 billion for core programs, with war costs additional. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)

The news only gets worse from here. If the federal budget is cutting funding to teaching hospitals that means less people will receive health care and the health care that is rendered will be diminished in it's capacity to deliver quality care and so much for 'cutting edge medical break throughs,' they just won't exist !

The Patriots play the game the way the game is supposed to be played and they always have...

... bringing them an undefeated title in the AFL. The Patriots earned the right to be in the Superbowl, but, the NFL are simply poor sportsmen from their "Wild Card" pick this year to the number of injuries caused by the Giants and the number of penalties accumulated during the game.

To illustrate the 'willingness' of NFL players to 'cause damage' in order to 'win' they scored a penalty at the first attempt for the first touchdown by the Patriots for pulling a face mask. They aren't football players, they're bullies. He could have broken his neck, but, that's all a matter of strategy and winning permitted as part of the NFL strategy to break bones and ruin careers.

The New England Patriots played a near flawless game as they always do and always have. Tom Brady is a brilliant strategist, team player and sportman. It was a pleasure to watch them play yesterday and they are welcome home for the prefection they exhibit everytime they take the field.

WE

DON'T

BELONG

IN

IRAQ !!!!

It's a matter of "the truth."

The Shia have a right to exist. They'll make their stand through war or peace, the choice is The Wests.

My views will never change. They are etched in the sandstone of the past in knowing the neglect of Western policy to deal equitably and treat all the ethnicities in esteem. The West created the crisis for the Shia and 'allowed' the radicalization. Now. They want to exploit it for more war and more killing and genocide the Shia in the name of ending violence.

Iran is a 'representative' homeland for the Shia, however, the true homeland for them is in southern Iraq. The Arab community of the Middle East is coming to terms with some of this reality by refusing to recognize 'the enemy' as the entire country of Iran, nor any of it's entities.

Iran should not be allowed to have nuclear weapons, but, neither should any other country including India and Pakistan under the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Currently, the only country recognizing the brevity of that treaty is Putin's Russia, which is attempting to create a voluntary network of those that desire peaceful use of nuclear technology through the sale of nuclear fuel rods for any reactor in operation today anywhere in the world. That initiative is a generosity of a peaceful intent and not necessarily one of profit either.

This is the rhetorical hate fomented by The West (click here)

The Imam who will create a world state will make the ruling nations pay for their crimes against society. He will bring succor to humanity. He will take out the hidden wealth from the breast of the earth and will distribute it equitably amongst the needy deserving. He will teach you simple living and high thinking. He will make you understand that virtue is a state of character which is always a mean between the two extremes, and which is based upon equity and justice. He will revive the teaching of the Holy Qur'an and the traditions of the Holy Prophet after the world has ignored them as dead letters....

...Among the most commonly heard cries for more are the calls for more Iraqi troops to replace overstrained American combat forces; or more American advisers to insure the capability and growth of Iraqi combat units; or more American troops assigned to Baghdad to win back the streets of the Iraqi capital; or more marines in al-Anbar Province to quell the rising tide of violence in that heartland of the Sunni insurgency; or more Congressional oversight to ensure that the administration is following a constructive course in the Middle East.

Even the negative proposals being raised rest on demands for more. Demands that the U.S. set a timetable for withdrawal or redeployment to non-conflict areas are explained as a way to force the Iraqi government to take more responsibility for the country's security; and calls for that government to dismantle the religious militias all involve demands that more Iraqi police be assigned to the neighborhoods where these militias operate.

The terrible problem is that all these proposals and many others that pop up daily in the media rest on the assumption that the American presence, however much it has failed, is nonetheless ameliorating intractable internal problems among the Iraqis.

This is the fundamental fallacy of the Myth of More (click here)....

This man is not an enemy of the USA. He is a precious son of Allah.

The longer the USA takes to leave Iraq and 'disarm' the area, the more blood will be shed and the more lives will be lost to the current genocide existing in Iraq.

64 killed in Baghdad twin blasts (click here)
Atul Aneja
DUBAI: Two bomb blasts in Baghdad on Friday killed at least 64 persons — the highest death toll since the middle of 2007 when American forces were beefed up in Iraq.
Forty-six persons were killed in an explosion caused by a woman suicide bomber in a busy animal market.
Twenty minutes later, the second explosion rocked another crowded market area of Jadida in eastern Baghdad, killing at least 18 persons and injuring around 80.
The police and medical staff piled up the dead and the injured in wheelbarrows, pick-up trucks and cars, and took them to the five main hospitals in the city. The Al Kindi hospital alone received at least 30 bodies.
The twin blasts have dented the creeping sense of normality in Iraq. Analysts point out that violence had diminished partly on account of the decision by the Mahdi militia loyal to Shia cleric Moqtada Al Sadr to observe a ceasefire against American troops in August. Some of the Sunni tribes also reportedly decided to target Al Qaeda affiliates in Iraq, thereby bringing down violence.

5 US Soldiers Killed in N. Iraq (click here)
By KIM GAMEL and QASSIM ABDUL-ZAHRA – 5 days ago
BAGHDAD (AP) — In a daring ambush, insurgents blasted a U.S. patrol with a roadside bomb Monday and showered survivors with gunfire from a mosque in increasingly lawless Mosul. Five American soldiers were killed in the explosion — even as Iraqi troops moved into the northern city to challenge al-Qaida in Iraq.
Iraqi reinforcements, along with helicopters, tanks and armored vehicles, converged on Mosul for what Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki pledged would be a decisive battle against al-Qaida in its last major urban stronghold.
The attack on the U.S. patrol — the deadliest on American forces since six soldiers perished Jan. 9 in a booby-trapped house north of Baghdad — raised the Pentagon's January death count to at least 36.
The toll so far is 56 percent higher than December's 23 U.S. military deaths and marks the first monthly increase since August. But the figures remain well below monthly death tolls of more than 100 last spring.
Tensions in Mosul, Iraq's third largest city, have spiked after the explosion last week in an abandoned apartment that authorities say was used to stash insurgents' weapons and bombs. As many as 60 were killed and 200 injured....

Maliki will say anything to 'close out' the deal for an American withdrawal even saying this is the last major urban stronghold of Al Qaeda in Iraq. What kind of horse manure is that? These terrorist networks aren't 'located' in single facilities whereby destruction is simply destroying same. They are roving carpetbaggers with buried munitions where ever the need arises.

Maliki wants the USA out of Iraq, no less than the American people do. The Iraqi people want to get on with their lives under their own concept of freedom and justice. As long as the Americans are in Iraq there will be war. So long as there is war there will be an al Qaeda presence in Iraq and they will seek to do exactly as they have done here. They will kill innocent people to spark the outrage necessary to escalate a war of hate and continue to indulge the 'War of the Neocons' that continues to plague idiots in Washington DC that need to simply cut off funding.

The State of the Union address of 2008 was chocked full of every rhetorical 'word' and this paragraph mimics Bush 41 rhetoric nearly completely...

...of Saddam's Iraq.

...We are also standing against the forces of extremism embodied by the regime in Tehran. Iran's rulers oppress a good and talented people. And wherever freedom advances in the Middle East, it seems the Iranian regime is there to oppose it. Iran is funding and training militia groups in Iraq, supporting Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, and backing Hamas' efforts to undermine peace in the Holy Land. Tehran is also developing ballistic missiles of increasing range and continues to develop its capability to enrich uranium, which could be used to create a nuclear weapon. Our message to the people of Iran is clear: We have no quarrel with you, we respect your traditions and your history, and we look forward to the day when you have your freedom. Our message to the leaders of Iran is also clear: Verifiably (Reagan) suspend your nuclear enrichment, so negotiations can begin. And to rejoin the community of nations (Bush 41 said this all the time about Saddam, all the flyin' time), come clean (come clean? What kind of language is that for a President of the USA to the people of this country and the global community? That must mean that Iran is 'up to' something sinister and underhanded.) about your nuclear intentions and past actions, stop your oppression at home and cease your support for terror abroad. But above all, know this: America will confront those who threaten our troops , we will stand by our allies and we will defend our vital interests in the Persian Gulf....

Bush's 'speech' wasn't about the USA, it was about promoting an agenda of war in the Middle East that will support Republican ideology and their cronies. Just that simple. It wasn't worth listening to as a Lame Duck as he simply limped through more rhetoric than ever before in attempts to lay the ground work for McCain in 2008.

Bush never stopped being the candidate in the entire time in office long enough to be a President.

That is irrelivant to the issue at hand. The rhetoric was to 'set the stage' for an invasion into Iran. But, why would an invasion into Iran be necessary by every measurable standard of American conflict of the past? Why isn't Iran at war already with violence trickling into that country and taking over it's infrastructure?

Why? Seriously, why isn't the entire region of the Middle East so destabilized that Osama bin Laden isn't sitting on a thrown in Jordan or Egypt or Saudi Arabia? Why? Why isn't Israel already overrun by Iran? By Hezbollah? By Hamas or the Islamic Brotherhood? Why?

Because when leaders identify with sovereignty over any other issue and 'contain' threats to that sovereignty and in the Middle East sovereignty is more important than nearly any other area of the world due to the chronic threat of terrorist networks. Virulent terrorist networks. The leadership of those nations react in appropriate measures to contain the threat to their nations. They act to protect their people.

Why are the borders with every nation of Iraq so porous? Why were Bremer's promises to 'close' the borders met with failure? Why? Because. Because it's easier to allow the warring parties their 'pleasure' in a well fueled environment rich in the resources 'the war' needs than to provide other areas of the region as tinderboxes of hatred. To contain the USA military in it's overt disregard of international infrastructure and it's snobbish treatment of peace directives was to contain the Neocons intent on expanding war to all corners of the Earth.

Iran acted to protect it's people and it's sovereign in the ONLY rational manner possible and that was to 'maintain' the war in Iraq to whatever extent it needed to by supplying humanitarian aid and more than likely munitions to those that would seek the path of the Ayatollahs rather than the West's 'ideology' that would allow the destruction of their mosques and assassinations of their Holy Men.

Whatever measures Iran has exercised to date to 'contain' the USA threat of expansive war into it's borders has worked and they had a God given right to do it ! Iran's leadership has an obligation to it's people and a right to defend itself even from a war yet undeclared but attempted by American forces and otherwise that seek to destabilize it's infrastructure to allow for chaos and anarchy.

Iran has assigned itself a larger role in the world it will not turn from and that is to INSURE the existance of the Shia forever on Earth. To that end it will seek every venue of opportunity to strengthen it's military and control the economy the Shia need to survive. Iran has looked high and low to find 'it's flock' no different than Israel has post WW II and it knows where they are and will defend them covertly until the world comes to terms of it's destruction to it's Holy Land, religious lineage and the fact they have a right to Islam as much as any Sunni nation or people in the region.

I am grateful for Russia, for it is a decent people (regardless of the economic rhetoric the Republicans count on to win elections - Russia does NOT need Iran's oil as the USA lusts after). Russia has taken all the risks internationally to align with 'unpopular' countries and seek to stabilize these nations while holding enough clout to curtail a larger 'war footprint' of the Bush Wars in the Middle East. Among nations? Putin's Russia has to be regarded as a country intent on a path of peace through stability. I am more than impressed by Putin's prowess with international dialogues that have lead to stability over chaos and his ability to muster the power of Russia post Soviet Era. He is more than admirable in the international community regardless of how he is 'dissed' by his peers. To be dissed as a Russian President must be an enviable status to obtain.

The Tri-State Area of Southeast Asia

The war that became The Vietnam Conflict started immediately after WW II. The division of Vietnam into north and south provided to great for the people there. Some of that same 'tension' exists with the Koreas, but, hopefully with China's guidance all that will resolve. The issue of nukes with the Koreas is also very different than that of Iran.

The point here is that the Vietnam War was escalated to enormous capacity by the Johnson Administration following the death of JFK. It was not a contained war. The war and it's deadly content moved outside of Vietnam into Cambodia and Laos and those countries still stuggle with the 'scar' of Vietnam even today. The current struggles of Thialand in the past year clearly illustrate the 'overwhelming' military presence in those countries that lend to violence.

Somehow, 'the war' never left Southeast Asia but simply changed faces. Peace there is quite a challenge, however, Vietnam has no desire to 'begin again' the tragedy that killed over a million people. It is easy to estimate if any of the four countries, including Thialand, were to embark on a regional peace initiative it would be Vietnam and they are learning well the lessons of economic cooperation to build better lives for their people.

But, enough said about that.

The point is, the Nixon White House justified it's warring through the 'concept' of the Domino Effect. Well, it was stupid theory and it holds no validity when countries place the importance of sovereignty before any other aspect of their governance.

What is more interesting and to the chagrin of Cheney/Bush the warring in Iraq has not flowed into the surrounding countries in the way it did in Southeast Asia. The question is why? Why with such desire to rid the area of 'ethnic conflict' hasn't the region simply erupted into flames? It doesn't make sense, does it?

Of does it?
