Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton provide impetus to shop. They are celebrity brats that provide passion to a generation of Americans to find an identity in 'the latest' trends. They are an economic commodity. I mean who wants to pay taxes when you can shop for a lifetime of happiness. This is a way of degrading women that hasn't been seen since I don't know when. I think the expression used to be 'airheads.' You know. They have their place.
These young ladies are being sacrifical lambs to the Religious Right. Paris Hilton should have never spent a day in jail and we all know that. But, she was traumatized long enough to scream, "I found God in jail." I never thought god was in jail. Criminals perhaps, but, god? I thought god was found in worship in holy places. Jail?

Nicole Richie, soberly fitted in a black dress accessorized with boyfriend Joel Madden, pleaded guilty to DUI and was sentenced to four days in jail on Friday.

The sentencing in a Glendale, Calif., courthouse came one month after pal Paris Hilton left her cell. Nicole also agreed to serve a three-year probation term and must undergo alcohol education. She was also fined $2,048.
During the hearing, Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell admonished Nicole, saying: "Someone could've gotten killed. You need to understand that driving under the influence is extremely dangerous."
Nicole was given the option of serving her time in a city jail, which is seen as a cushier facility than a county jail. She was given no surrender date but must complete her jail time before Sept. 28.
