Jessica Simpson, one time divorced is lauded by her father as a 'better person' to her 'starlet competition.' Hm.

So, once a married woman (been there, done that) has allowed her to realize pain and mature. Interesting.

I wouldn't characterize her as a better person, but, certainly one that is trouble free. She seems more resilient to social abuse, especially the kind leveled by the Religious Right.

Character strength to stand against the tide and win. She was never intimidated by the pressure to be a starlet without being politically correct. No drinking or drug problems for the difference either.

Interesting.

Simpson received criticism from a Christian group calling itself "The Resistance", for the sexualized image she used in the music video for "These Boots are Made for Walking." In response, Simpson stated, "It didn't really surprise me because I grew up with a lot of that backlash. That's why I didn't end up going into the Christian music industry. I think that if they're really good Christians the judgment wouldn't be there."
