This is more of what I was seeing in the previous photo. The layers snow pack on top of the mountains. There are no glaciers. I don't have a history of the region to know the changes but it looks to me as though warmer temperatures have prevailed and resulted in melt water runoff. Snow would not deposit that way. It would be indiscriminant especially considering the winds that accompany the Arctic. The layered snow/ice/fern I believe is affected drastically by Global Warming. There is little explanation I can think of for the layering of the snow on the mountain tops. April 26, 2005. Posted by Hello
