April 26, 2005. This is a photo of the Siberian Wilderness. It is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of Iceland. The mountains have been glacier scoured from the last Ice Age. The tops are flat. As the glaciers advanced over top of them they removed the peaks and as they retreated they left behind an incredible range of mountains that are flat on top. The Icelandic mountains are volcanic but from what I can discern here that is the 'geological Original Horizontality' of the deposition of the layers of land. The north continent where Siberia is has never been affected by the planets techtonics. Quite different from North Carolina that received a collision and folded the stratigraphy. There are layers to the snow indicating there maybe some 'run off' from the top. ? Perhaps ? a similar 'affect' as seen in The Greenland Ice retreat. I't beautiful. Pristine Arctic Wilderness. Absolutely beautiful. Posted by Hello
