Metro-North’s Thanksgiving Holiday Service (Nov. 27- Dec. 1) (click here)
This is a vital rail service well known to New York and New York City. This is not a minor incident. People have had confidence in this service to make it the most ridden commuter rail in the country. So, there has to be an investigation to the cause. It is uncharacteristic of this commuter service and it has to be treated as a crime until otherwise known.
It is the second busiest commuter railroad in the United States in terms of monthly ridership, only behind its sister railroad, the Long Island Rail Road. Metro–North runs service between New York City and its northern suburbs in New York and Connecticut, including, in New York State,Port Jervis, Spring Valley, Poughkeepsie, and Wassaic; in Connecticut, New Canaan, Danbury, Waterbury, and New Haven. Metro-North also provides local rail service within New York City with a reduced fare.

I haven't seen any closed circuit video yet. That is probably part of the
investigation, if it exists. This doesn't happen by chance, especially in New
York. There is either tampering, age and/or negligence. I certainly hope the
rail service is NOT balancing potential danger with budget cuts. If that is the
case then those not recognizing the need for prompt and timely maintenance
of a vital public service needs to held in ridicule and responsibility. This is
case then those not recognizing the need for prompt and timely maintenance
of a vital public service needs to held in ridicule and responsibility. This is
outrageous. I would expect New York especially to realize lives are not to be
bargained with for the sake of politics, state or national budgets.
I expect the NTSB to treat this with brevity without politics so much as sheer
reality.
People need to be held responsible. I can't believe this has happened.
My sincerest and deepest sympathies to the families and friends at a time of
year that is suppose to be joyous. And we have to get through Sandy Hook
besides. The USA's landscape is being nightmare. I want to know why!
