The Serengeti Highway is taking its toll on some of the most delicate populations of wildlife in the world.

"Witnessed today along Arusha-Namanga road less than ten minutes before i got there...If we don't put more efort on stoping the Serengeti highway, this is what will be happening in every single day. Just reminding you what i just saw today was a road kill that involved one of tha most endangered species in Africa and Serengeti eco-system itself, there only 250 cheetahs only...."

The fastest land (click here) animal in the world, the cheetah is a marvel of evolution. The cheetah's slender, long-legged body is built for speed. Cheetahs are tan in color with black spots all over their bodies. They can also be distinguished from other big cats by their smaller size, spotted coats, small heads and ears and distinctive "tear stripes" that stretch from the corner of the eye to the side of the nose.
