The territorial modifications of The Balkans in 1913. From the years 1912 to 1914 the Balkans underwent three shifts in their boundaries. It was due to wars. Chronic wars. By 1914 the Balkan Wars would cause the retreat of the Ottoman Empire out of central Europe, being defined by Turkey.
The Industrial Revolution would make 'war lords' of nation's leaders and it was a free for all before and leading upto WW I. The war that started with an assassination of an Archduke. A war that killed many because the 'mechanisms' of men were too tempting for peaceful measures.
