October 5, 2005. The former "Hixson Funeral Home" is nothing but rubble now. That is Cat 5 devastation. NOTED: The trees all through these pictures are dead. They have no green leaves. The force of the combination of wind and water literally damaged the tree's internal cambrium so completely that the tree has died. I would like to see tree core and ring specimans if I were evaluating the situation to determine the torturous forces that killed them. And it's not just one tree. Its a forest when the number of dead trees are considered. The information would be invaluable. Wood is not that easily demised.
