September 28, 2005.

The Giant Squid is probably interesting estimated at 18 meters, equivalent of approximately 60 feet, is still a junior variety according to some ancient seafaring tales. This was found near Japan when a fishing vessel reeled in their 'catch.'

The thing is that Squid are exploding in waters in that area of the Earth due to increased sea temperatures that accelerates their reproduction cycle leading to earlier maturing of juveniles. I believe in 'math' and 'odds' and I find this a bit alarming that this would show up at all. Considering the fact this was a 'fishing vessel' this Squid was competing for food at upper depth. Normally, Sperm whales swim to incredible depths to feed on the Giant Squid. There is a reason why before now these animals have only been found dead for study by scientists. Posted by Picasa
