May 29, 2005. This is a spectacular view of Half Dome and El Capitan on the way to Yosemite Valley. There is a wonderful geological story that can be imparted from this photo but in all honesty I don't have time to play today. This is far from Orginal Horizontality and speaks to the incomprehensible physics that is Earth. Those cliff faces didn't just happen or weren't just created so we could enjoy the view. They were carved out of GeoPhysical dynamics over vast amounts of time. In actuality, the cliffs of Yosemite, for as magnificent as they are, were carved out of erosive processes. I am grateful the forests are intact.
