President Donald Trump (click here) on Wednesday approved a disaster declaration for Florida, as the state's death toll reached 22 and the number of confirmed coronavirus cases approached 1,700.
A total of 1,682 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the state, including 1,583 Florida residents and 99 non-Florida residents, according to the Florida Department of Health. It was 215 more than Tuesday's figure.
Miami-Dade had a total of 400 cases Wednesday, while Broward had 355. Palm Beach had 118 cases and Monroe had 8.
Florida newborns are exposed on birth.
The Department of Health announced Tuesday that a baby boy and a 2-year-old girl have tested positive for COVID-19 in Broward County.
