The inability of the US Senate to address sexual ASSAULT is not acceptable.

Dr, Ford in her testimony represents a very important group in the USA, young college women.

Dr. Ford stated the assault by Kavanaugh caused her issues in her academics when she was an aspiring coed.

This is our brain trust and there are more women in college and entering college than men. If this trend continues, there will be significant numbers of women unable or finding it difficult to achieve their maximum ability. That is almost a social sabotage of our nation's best interest. Sorry, but, if supporting male egos mean sacrificing what is best for women and their future, then count me out.

Dr. Ford is a very important population of women that can speak out and should speak out to end the violence against women. Our country needs these women and we need them achieving and must end the sexual assault that disarms them into their highest achievements. These incidents have a painful longevity and carry personal costs as well. That is not acceptable when one considers the men that are the attackers walk away from such assaults as fulfilled and not suffering from emotional damage that will last a life time.

Forcible sexual acts have surpassed motor vehicle thefts on campus and are now approaching the level that will exceed burglary in the total type of campus crime. This is not a minor issue and Dr. Ford knew it was important to address this in a way that would make a difference for all women. She is empowering the women that are now hiding in corners. Considering the number of women that do not report, the sexual violence statistic is far higher than is reported here.

Kavanaugh continued his sexual assaults into 1998 and we need to continue to seek the truth. The truth will make certain he is unable to qualify for any case regarding sexual violence against men or women on any court where he sits.

The US Senate Republicans now creating their own truths and out right lying to justify a political victory need to be held accountable for their deceptions and complete disregard of women.

Reports of sexual assault on college campuses have surged (click here) dramatically in the past 15 years, according to a new federal study, while all other reported on-campus crimes have decreased.

But the 205 percent increase in reports of sexual assault—from 2,200 in 2001 to 6,700 in 2014—does not necessarily confirm the campus rape epidemic narrative perpetuated by high profile cases like that of convicted rapist Brock Turner and Alec Cook, who was recently expelled from the University of Wisconsin after being charged with sexually assaulting multiple women. (Cook will be tried in criminal court on June 5.

In fact, the Education Department’s new study may indicate progress in combating the stigma of silence around sexual assault on college campuses.

“We cannot say whether the increases are a result of an increase in actual assaults, or as a result of more individuals coming forward to report assaults when they occur,” study co-author Lauren Musu-Gillette wrote in an email to the Daily Beast.

Conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics and the Justice Department, the new study looked at data collected under the Clery Act, a law which requires colleges and universities to report to the federal government all sex crimes on or adjacent to campus that are reported to school authorities.

Because sexual assault is one of the most underreported crimes, some advocates say that these figures likely underestimate the prevalence of sexual assault on campus....
