It is fairly rough terrain there. With autumn coming on they have to be rescued soon. This was probably the end of their summer research.

Alaska Air National Guard (click here) rescue crews are trying Friday to reach three occupants of a helicopter stranded by poor weather since Wednesday night on a volcano in the Alaska Peninsula.
According to a Friday AST dispatch, Dillingham troopers were informed at about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday that an Egli Air Haul Inc.
