Hurricane Sandy on October 25, 2012.
Emails surrounding the initial investigation came from someone in the State Department.
Hello?
The complaints surrounding his resignation are inappropriate and the political Right Wing is seeking leverage in any way they can. The ranting is about trying to prove the nation is at risk under this administration. The Republicans are leading the charge to find and construct "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."
The resignation is not hideous, it is the ranting over it that is hideous.
I do not believe Ms. Broadwell is emotionally stable. Threatening a State Department employee is outrageous, not simply odd. The content of the emails is irrelevant. What is threatening to one is not threatening to another. An FBI agent is allowed to have friends, are allowed to have conversations with those friends and to react to alarming news from a friend. This is not about rivalry between the FBI and the CIA. This is about a State Department employee receiving emails she perceived as threatening.
The exploitation of the topic is hideous. The entire situation is being politicized by a desperate Republican Party to scared to admit they don't have the nation's best interest at the heart of their party. They are plutocrats through and through and they are trying ANYTHING to re-establish their legitimacy by doing what they complain the Democrats did during the last election, define the candidate. This is about casting doubt across the spectrum of the DNC and attempt to remove the President from office for the next four years.
It was someone who said, "You have to have a plan for the Vice President, too." This is the worst of the Republicans doing what they do best, being scared of their own reality.
David Petraeus engaged in an extramarital affair believing he could control it and he could not. He resigned from a very sensitive USA intelligence position and there were lots of reason for that to occur. When a man believes he can control the world surrounding him regardless of its wrongful content that is a dangerous understanding that transcends his life and not just his immediate relationships. It was time for Petraeus to leave.
President Obama has important work to do and finding a replacement for Petraeus is one of them. He needs to go forward with the next four years and not allow distraction by the GOP to the nation's problems.
