Photographer states :: This is suppose to continue unabated for another 12 hours. As you can see the winds are blowing pretty hard, generating this cornice off the edge of my roof. A state of emergency was just declared for the area.

In comparing the vortex location above to below, it basically hasn't moved. That is not unusual for these supercells. They sort of lumber along and keep distributing heat. In the image above from UNISYS a large heat transfer is noted in the North Atlantic near Iceland on it's way to the Arctic Circle.
