This might be a sustainable pattern.
The velocity of the movement of the aire was not this turbulent this early morning about 4AM before sunrise. The hemisphere has had a full day of sun and heating and now we are looking at some very fast moving fronts across the North American continent driven by the North Atlantic Vortex just south of Greenland. It's reach spans the entire hemisphere to the equator.
