The storm's eye is supported by an entire hemisphere of heat. There is no 'break' in the connectedness between the eye and the hemispheric dynamics.

The people of Louisiana are poor. They needed help to be safe. They don't have personal resources to leave as the 'average' American does. I don't think much of this country anymore. How could people be ALLOWED to stay in the path of a storm with this POTENTIAL? Just the potential of this storm to cause death was enough. What happened?
