We need a new "Cash for Clunkers" deal.

2030 is LESS THAN nine years away. It is time to act and act aggressively to avoid ANY more tipping points to stem and reverse the climate crisis. There is no magic bullet, this is the hard stuff that has been avoided for decades and it is a MUST DO time frame.

Washington — The CEOs of Detroit's three automakers (click here) joined President Joe Biden on the south lawn of the White House Thursday as he set a goal to make half of all new vehicles sold by 2030 emissions-free — just hours before the administration issued new rules requiring 5% annual emissions reductions for Model Years 2024 through 2026.

Earlier, the automakers shared their own aims to sell 40-50% electric vehicles (including battery electric, fuel cell and plug-in hybrids) in the same period. The collective move, powered by new propulsion technology and global reactions to climate change, marks a major change in the industry's attitude toward stiffer emissions rules since the Obama era, when increased fuel efficiency and emissions standards enraged automakers....

The infamous "Cash for Clunkers" program was very popular. (click here) The country will need a similar program to promote electric vehicles and end the gas engine.

It will be a new day in the USA when there is nothing but electric cars. They don't make noise. The sound barriers between highways and neighborhoods won't be necessary anymore. NO CAR SOUND POLLUTION.

That is only one of the by-products that will improve quality of life when the electric vehicle completely replaces the gas engine.

The Biden administration (click here) announced on Thursday a record injection of money to help communities gird against the effects of climate change, as disasters continue to pummel the United States.

The new funds — $3.5 billion in grants to states to protect against floods, wildfires and other threats — mark a shift in United States disaster policy as climate change gets worse: Rather than smaller, more targeted investments, the government is throwing huge sums of money at disaster preparation as fast as it can.

“The risks that we are seeing from climate change are the crisis of our generation,” Deanne Criswell, head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is administering the money, said in an interview....

Greenville - California’s largest wildfire (click here) has leveled much of the downtown and some surrounding homes in a small Northern California mountain community.

The Dixie Fire tore through the Greenville on Wednesday evening, destroying businesses and homes as the sky was cast in an orange glow. A photographer on assignment for The Associated Press described seeing a gas station, hotel and bar burned to the ground.

“If you are still in the Greenville area, you are in imminent danger and you MUST leave now!!” the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook earlier Wednesday.

The sheriff’s department and Cal Fire did not immediately respond to messages.

The 3-week-old fire has grown to over 428 square miles (1,108 square kilometers) across Plumas and Butte counties....

This is a 23 second video that every American needs to clearly understand resulted from the climate crisis. What else does anyone need to know beyond the sound of burning embers of a historic American town?
