The climate crisis is and has been a national emergency. I need to illustrate this in a learning presentation so people can understand it, but, the calamity that is on the horizon is dire.
There currently is a collapse of the tropospheric Arctic vortex. Why is it a collapse? Because the air pressure that maintains the Arctic vortex is abnormally lower and unable to maintain support by the troposphere of the higher atmospheres.
For those that understand that, I think we have been lucky. The collapse that began during the winter of 2012-2013 was a warning. The collapses that happened since have been incrementally worse when it comes to the degree of stratospheric mixing.
I promise you INCREMENTAL change is how this warming works with Earth’s atmospheres. Example: When two mid-latitude vortexes showed up over the North Atlantic and North Pacific on October 4, 2002, it was an astonishing surprise to me. What surprised me further was a report out of Antarctica that on that same day C-zero, an ice river, reversed flow. The reason being that C-Zero was now floating on some degree of water no different than Greenland ice meander. The vortices in the northern hemisphere along with C-zero provided a global phenomena that as of today has not resolved. The rivers of Antarctica are flowing with water to sea level rise. At the same time the Arctic vortex collapse is a record this year.
To complete this entry and insight return to those vortices on October 4, 2002. They went from two vortexes to a maximum of seven over a year. Then they consolidated to create a maximum vortex with a diameter from the equator to the Arctic Circle and now there is a collapse.
When you accept that this incremental march by Earth is its innate nature, then realized this. As the stratospheric mixing during the Arctic Vortex has gotten incrementally worse every year, then when will the mixing become so severe it effects the oxygen content of the troposphere or collapses the stratosphere vortex as well?
