Besides the fact the lit side of the moon is already well known, China is looking for water. Nothing else makes sense. They will be happy to find anything else the USA hasn't recorded yet, but, parking robots on the dark side of the moon and at the poles of the moon can only mean one thing, the Chinese are looking for water. I wish them a lot of luck with that. Perhaps they might note there is no atmosphere and no clouds either. They should be careful of frozen anything on the moon. There are no guarantees it is H2O.
