South Korea will from Thursday for the first time issue 10-year multiple entry visas to Chinese tourists. But only if they are specialized professionals such as a lawyer or professor or hold a Master's degree or above, Yonhap News Agency, citing the South Korean Ministry of Justice, reported.
Application requirements for multiple entry visas will also be relaxed, with the age restriction starting from 55. Previously the restriction was set at 60 or above.
The Yonhap News Agency estimated that there will be 80 million potential applicants eligible for the new multiple entry visas. At the same time, the length of stay for each visit will be extended from 30 days to 90.
The move means that South Korea becomes the latest country to further open its door to Chinese tourists under the stimulus of the latter's strong spending power.
China sincerely needs to improve the quality of life of their people and expand it's middle class. This is somewhat sad to realize well educated Chinese find living in South Korea more attractive. China can do better. The people know there is a different type of life beyond the Chinese borders. There are dearly few people on Earth that operate in a vacuum today and realize there is opportunity for a better life elsewhere.

When Nixon went to China there were hopes by Americans. Besides Wall Street the people of the USA wanted the Chinese people to achieve a better quality of life. Those hopes for China didn't include emigration either.

Unfortunately, what occurred primarily in China was the greed of Wall Street and not improved lives of the Chinese people. Wall Street exported American jobs along with their American market. Wall Street did very little to provide better quality of life for the Chinese. Their impoverishment remained intact for decades, until, the current Chinese President who realized it was the people that was ignored by the million-billionaires (oligarchs). If the business community of China would change their ways and pay good wages it would benefit China and begin to balance trade deficits globally.
