The temperature differences within that vortex is significantly different.
In a weather satellite at KATV (Click here) the temperature span was 29 degrees Fahrenheit over Sante Fe, New Mexico and dropping while Temperatures over Witchita, Kansas was 52 degrees Fahrenheit. Something's gotta give.
